The gameplay doesn’t seem interesting enough for me, but the ability to just surf around reminds me of the days I played Spiderman on the PS2 just swinging around. That aspect is very tempting for sure. 😅
Lately all the games that are great only last about 2 hours. That could be a whole category of games. Bite sized games, whole new experience each weekend. Only thing that doesn't work here is the price. Thankya for the review.
Now I'm getting old I definitely prefer games I can play through while enjoying the environment and story. I am too old and impatient for souls-like games. I don't mind a bit of a challenge but one hit deaths and difficulty spikes really do irk me.
Understandable. Sometimes you just want to relax and enjoy your games peacefully. I also noticed that as i grow older my reflexes are just not what it used to be.
Oh wow nice review! The game has its flaws and shortcomings for sure, but I think the cons and the relax vibe worth it. The art seems so cool and relaxing! A hidden gem digged out indeed!
I'm afraid (and in the meantime I hope) that this will end up in the club of games that are discounted on a 2 weeks basis. It will soon drop under the 10 $/€ line and it will visit that price range from time to time. That will be the spot where I will pick it up.

I tried out the demo for this one on Steam. It's incredibly short but also incredibly charming. It pulled me in instantly. It almost feels like a long-lost Zelda game. I can't wait to pick this one up once I chew through my backlog.
Is there a demo on Switch or only Steam? I'm afraid if I play a demo and it's as good as it looks, I'll cave and buy it at the price its at now instead of waiting for a sale.
@@2crack_17 It loos like the demo is only on Steam. The demo was good enough for me to put it on my list of games to watch, but I don't see any real temptation to blow $29 on a game that's only about four-to-six hours, judging from what I have heard. Most of what I play is sub-$20, being either smaller indies or bigger titles that have gone on sale.
I've had my eye on this since I saw it on eShop and each time I see gameplay I wanna buy it even more. I'm getting very strong sea of solitude vibes which isn't a bad thing
Wavetale didn't release a month ago, it was a stadia launch title then they released it on other systems as if it were a new game lol. It does look good though but now I don't know what system to get it on xD
This look like an easy, short, fun game to play on a Friday to help you unwind from a long week. The price is not the best tbh might go for it on a hefty sale.
Traversal looks like the selling point to me, I'd pick this up on sale one day. Something about big open sections of water in games is always intriguing to me.
I was very much interested in this game, then Alex at Switch Corner reviewed the game saying pretty much the same as you. So, still interested but defo one for a deep deep sale
I totally missed that review (his channel + SwitchUp are the perfect combination for Switch content imho), but good to hear the verdicts are similar! They really missed the mark with that price, huh 😅
So sad to hear that the E-shop credit discount is ending. I can feel it in my bones that the €99 Switch voucher offer is going to be phased out soon too 😅. Tears of the Kingdom is showing on any websites here as €70 for the preorder which has me worried that we're entering a pricier phase in gaming overall
Ooh great review timing. I'd just added this to the ever growing wishlist. There's a huge draw to it. I think my brain would eat through it incredibly quickly (in a good way) but as you say this does put the ASK in the asking price just now.
There are times I like a simple, short game, but this does seem a bit expensive for that type of experience. So, onto the wishlist, waiting for a sale, it goes.
hmm seems neat. I like these shorter games. my attention and time dont align with long games anymore. I enjoy a direct narratove journey that I can finish quickly.

I'm the same way, I end up getting way too frustrated with death after death, sometimes its nice to have an easy experience and enjoy a story
Same here! I just wanna vibe 😅
Thanks for this video Mark, I never knew this game existed
Oh wow nice review! The game has its flaws and shortcomings for sure, but I think the cons and the relax vibe worth it.
The art seems so cool and relaxing!
A hidden gem digged out indeed!
Looks interesting but will definitely wait for a sale. Thanks for highlighting this game.
Going into the wishlist for now.
This one looks fun! I'll really consider this one for a sales pickup for sure.
I'm afraid (and in the meantime I hope) that this will end up in the club of games that are discounted on a 2 weeks basis. It will soon drop under the 10 $/€ line and it will visit that price range from time to time. That will be the spot where I will pick it up.
Looks very relaxing and intriguing, I may have to get it but wait for sale
Thank you for the deep dive into this game. I kinda like what I'm seeing here, and I don't mind an easy experience. I do still have Abzu in my backlog though, so I'll probably dive into that one first
Yea easy isn't always necessarily bad, just makes for a more relaxed and laid back experience.
@@2crack_17 I also know about myself that other people's easy difficulty == my normal/hard difficulty (a bit depending on the genre) 😅
Get it? DIVE in??!
I'll show myself out.
@@jordongee2347 At least someone noticed!xD I've been wracking my brain for sea/swimming puns, but I just came up with this basic one (English is not my native language) 🥲
@@Anni_ka I get it, respect to all the people who always play on the hardest difficulty, but I'm here to have a good time and enjoy a story with a bit of a challenge, not test the limits of my skill lol
I am waiting for a sale with this one. I am a little "light" with money after last sales. ;)
You and me both! Lol 🤣
You are not alone there. Then again i am always "light" with money. Sales or no sales. 😅
Those sales will do it to you lol
Aren't we all? Isn't that why we've gathered in this community?😅
Oh man, join the club! 😄 Always feeling light these days, man, everything's just so expensive. Right after Christmas, and my girlfriend, her mom, and my birthday all in this month......we're gonna be bouncing back for a while still. 😄🤔😔
I tried out the demo for this one on Steam. It's incredibly short but also incredibly charming. It pulled me in instantly. It almost feels like a long-lost Zelda game. I can't wait to pick this one up once I chew through my backlog.
I've seen many people compare it to Wind Waker, and I mean, it's hard not to!
@@2crack_17 i have just checked the eshop. Mr Thomas Hooper is right. No demo on the switch. How unfortunate.
@@thomashooper2451 shame about the lack of demo, but I totally agree that ideally I'd buy this one anywhere from $10-$15 max
Played this on Stadia, such an underrated game
I've had my eye on this since I saw it on eShop and each time I see gameplay I wanna buy it even more. I'm getting very strong sea of solitude vibes which isn't a bad thing
Definitely not a bad thing to be compared to sea of solitude
Yeah it's a game in good company for sure
This look lad fun, also looks like that ropey rafting game that was out the other year. I prefer a good narrative. Short games are not for me though.
Yea 9 times out of 10 I'll go with a 40+ hour RPG lol
Especially at that price!
Definitely gonna pick it up on a good sale. It looks pretty relaxing.
Wavetale didn't release a month ago, it was a stadia launch title then they released it on other systems as if it were a new game lol. It does look good though but now I don't know what system to get it on xD
Looks like a very nice game but if you say it's too easy then I will pass on it. I'm sure it would be a nice pick up for a a child.
This look like an easy, short, fun game to play on a Friday to help you unwind from a long week. The price is not the best tbh might go for it on a hefty sale.
My thoughts exactly, this is a perfect unwinding game
Played it on Stadia, its really a lot of fun. Not too long either so it keeps fresh
Traversal looks like the selling point to me, I'd pick this up on sale one day. Something about big open sections of water in games is always intriguing to me.
My thoughts exactly. Can definitely see myself spending hours just traveling the ocean with all those sweet jumps.
I think the sea is generally fascinating, but very terrifying in real life. So getting to explore a game version is always appreciated 😅
They really missed the mark with that price, huh 😅
looks nice and enjoyed the write up, i am waiting for a deal on this.
I do love the trailing animation in this one 😁😁🌴🌴
I could explore that world all day, looks like tons of fun just going from point a to point b
This is a perfect pick for a good and short experience
Loving the art style of this game. It looks like it would be relaxing to play
I saw this when it came out and I thought it looked amazing!
The game dose look really good, I have added it to my wish list to see if it drops in price at any point.
Ooh great review timing. I'd just added this to the ever growing wishlist. There's a huge draw to it. I think my brain would eat through it incredibly quickly (in a good way) but as you say this does put the ASK in the asking price just now.
I was absolutely shocked to see the price. I was very interested in this one since I heard a review a bit ago. But they didn't talk about the price...
Yeah it's VERY steep! Mark
Totally agree with this! Would pay it, if it were longer. I don’t mind the difficulty (or lack thereof) if it could be and extended chill session.
It's a shame because man is this game beautiful looking
I feel like this would be a 'play through it in one sitting forgetting about everything else' kinda game!
There are times I like a simple, short game, but this does seem a bit expensive for that type of experience. So, onto the wishlist, waiting for a sale, it goes.
once it goes on sale I think it will be a real gem
Yeah, the value for money ratio is unfortunately a bit skewed for this one 😅
hmm seems neat. I like these shorter games. my attention and time dont align with long games anymore. I enjoy a direct narratove journey that I can finish quickly.
I think a short and sweet experience has its merits for sure, but I find it hard not to compare this game with others in the same price range that offer a tad bit more bang for your buck...
It is nice from time to time to pick up a game that you know you'll be able to finish lol
