Love the Camera Coverage of these Old Classic Games . Awesome catch n run from John Jefferson . Little last Glimpse of Lydell Mitchell B4 his retiring. Little Bit of Mike Thomas RB who seemed like he was going to be Great after a few yrs earlier with the Redskins Going over 1,000 yrds rushing. Had his Football Card and Remember rooting for him. And Lydell Mitchell with the Colts. Rookie Kellen Winslow, Nice John Jefferson Game, He was my Biggest Disappointment that he didnt pan out he was sooo Gifted as a Receiver. An interception from the Underrated forgotten ex Steeler DB Glen Edward's. I had forgot about him till. I checked the Box Score. So many Greats on that Raider Defense. Nice Game 👍
46:16…..Woodrow Lowe was the Ed Reed of the NFL in 1979. I remember he had a long int return for a td in their blowout win over Pittsburgh. A big “what if” with the 79 and 80 Chargers. Just not quite enough heart to be champions
NBC’s NFL Announce teams in 1979 Dick Enberg/Merlin Olsen Jim Simpson or Don Criqui/John Brodie Charlie Jones/Len Dawson Don Criqui or Sam Nover/Bob Trumpy Jay Randolph/Paul Maguire Merle Harmon/George Kunz Sam Nover or Marv Albert/Mike Haffner
1979 San Diego Chargers were 12-4 during the season Dan Fouts breaks joe Nameth record of passing 4; 082 yds 24 td passes and Rookie Kellen Winslow and Charlie Joiner and jj both had thousand yd season and beat Steelers and Rams both played each other in Coluseum Super Bowl and chargers lost at home playoffs to Houston Oilers 17-14 and oilers without Earl Campbell and Dan Pastorini kenny Burrows but Rob Carpenter huge day gives oilers a victory.
@@tommyparkerparker Criqui would remain the number 2 announcer until 1982. In 1983 Marv Albert became the number 2 announcer and Criqui did lower rung games. Criqui would return to the number 2 spot in 1985 with Bob Trumpy
San Diego Chargers home atomsphere in the late 70s and early 80s was so great!
Except in playoff games.
The good old days of the NFL. I really miss this Era of pro football

As a Raiders fan, San Diego whooped our butts that day. That Chargers offense was so fun to watch accept when they were beating us
This is a chopped up mess but beggars can't be choosers
Awesome game. John Brodie too!
May have been the last game Jim Simpson did for NBC.
It was.
Yes. Don Criqui took over the #2 slot from week 3 on. Jim Simpson left for the new upstart ESPN.

@@tommyparkerparker Yep, ESPN launched a couple of days before this on the 7th.
What a find wow thanks!
i still have my Tee shirt. Never wore it. Chargers will have a great season and blow it in playoffs. One and done.
Damn…..they would have buried the Steelers again in the AFC Championship
16:50 what?!
Blazing Dan Fouts the prolific passer of air coryell.
