Experiencing Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany is a bucket list item for many people, and for good reason! We attended our first Oktoberfest back in 2019 (before starting our RUclips channel) thinking we would check it off the buck list and move on, but we had so much fun that we had to make a return visit, and this time we’re taking you along on the adventure and sharing some key tips and tricks along the way! Munich resident here. You absolutely did Oktoberfest (we call it Wiesn) the right way. And you really made an effort with your lederhosen and dirndl and not getting the cheap touristy stuff. Nat, you look absolutely gorgeous in your dirndl! Hope you visit Munich again someday!

Me and a buddy were their late September 2023 and had such a great time! I was blown away by the enormity of it all, I was not expecting that! My favorite food was the sausage and sauerkraut. I think even a person who doesn't particularly like sauerkraut, would love it there, its sooooo good! I really hope to get our 3 adult sons to join me there at some point.

Wow ! Another fun adventure video from you two. That’s on my bucket list too. You need to plan and make it a stop in Zinzinnati this September for the 2nd largest Oktoberfest ! It will only be about 5 hour drive for you guys. You already have the outfits and will fit right in. You looked like you were really enjoying your time there. Howdy Folks, this was so much fun watching you at the Oktoberfest ). I was there in 2023 as well , which that made my 19th (not consecutive) Oktoberfest in Munich. It's white because they use normal salt and not cured salt. Cured salt turns meat pinkish like in Wiener sausages. Sorry for smartassing 🙈

We were there in October also with a tour group and one of our guys ended up partaking a little too much and he literally looked like the scarecrow in the Wizard of oz, walking back to the bus! It was quite comical but between his wife and I, we got him back to the bus!😅😅

Thanks so much for watching!!! 🥰 We’ve flown in & out of the Munich airport but we’ve also flown into Paris & spent a couple of days & then took the train into Munich as well! So just depends on what y’all want to do! Hope that helps!

It is not without reason that many locals leave the city during this time. It's easy to get fed up with pavements and public transport full of vomit, completely drunk people and round-the-clock police operations.

Thanks for watching! We took our own advice and paced ourselves, so we didn't get drunk. I (Matt) had 4-6 beers throughout the entire 9+ hour day and Nat had even less.

Is Munich that expensive or is it just Oktoberfest? A guy would have to sell one of his kidneys 😂
Munich is the most expensive city in Germany, however prices on the Oktoberfest are extra high.
If you're on a budget, eat your main meal of the day outside the Oktoberfest and not in one of the tents.
And if you need a cheaper accommodation, look for a place outside of Munich within the S-Bahn area or even in Augsburg. Hotels get during the Oktoberfest two or three times more expensive in Munich, then during the regular season.
Well said and great advice @AbudMunichen78. For our first Oktoberfest in 2019 we stayed within walking distance of Theresienwiese which was great but expensive. For this visit we stayed a 20-30 minute train ride out of the city center and saved some money.
