If you’re a lover of all things Christmas like we are, then visiting the European Christmas Markets is probably high on your travel wish list! And it’s no secret that Germany is home to some of the best and oldest markets in all of Europe. So to get into the Christmas spirit we hopped on a plane to Munich to explore the Münchner Christkindlmarkt… Matt’s first Christmas market EVER! Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t very cooperative for our visit but we pushed through the cold, rain, and sleet and did our best to make the most of it! Thankfully there was an abundance of hot Glühwein and sizzling Wurst to keep us warm!

We’re Matt & Nat, a part-time, non-remote travel couple based out of Nashville, TN.
We launched in 2021 by visiting all 50 US states & documented our entire journey on our Blog & here on RUclips! After spending a full year focused on such a defined goal, 2022 left us feeling a little lost & wondering "What's next?". We continued traveling & creating vlogs but always with the "What's next?" question lingering. During one of our trips we came across the book “1,000 Places to See Before You Die” & were immediately drawn in by it & knew that it had to be a part of our adventures. So, in January 2023 we officially launched our “1,000 Places To See Before You Die” series where we’ve set out to see as many of the “1,000 Places To See Before You Die”… before we die!
We hope you’ll join us on the adventure & find some adventures of your own along the way! And remember... It’s better to see something once (even if only for a moment) than to hear about it a thousand times.

Been to about 20 German Christmas Markets. Collect all the mugs as well. Stollen is awesome with marzipan! As a 1st generation German (parents were German) I buy stollen and other Christmas treats up here in Canada every year. Love all the wooden crafts.
Planning a trip for this year!! Vienna, Prague, Zurich, Cologne, Colmar, and a few others!
@@jessicamartinez5117 Love it! We're thinking about making it an annual tradition for us! So maybe Salzburg and Vienna this year?? Or Cologne and Dresden?? Not sure yet! All we know is that we loved the Christmas markets and want to go back! Lol
We have been to many of the Christmas Markets in Europe. We are going to Vienna and Salzburg this year for the Christmas Markets it will be our first time there. Some of our favorite markets are Brussels, Cologne, Dresden. Stollen is amazing.

I just want to say that I am a huge fan of your videos and it’s really interesting to see your reactions to a typical German Christmas market. I am from Germany and currently living in Trier (next to Luxemburg). The rain really describes what you need to know about German winter weather (it doesn’t get better until march). When you are looking for another Christmas experience for this year, I really recommend the “Trierer Weihnachtsmarkt” because it is located in one of the oldest German Cities, which was captivated by the Romans many many years ago and is considered one of the prettiest Christmas places in Europe. You can also include other tourist attractions (like the oldest German bridge, the “Porta Nigra”(an old Gateway to the City built by the Romans,…)) to your trip or visit the Christmas market in Luxemburg, which is only a one-hour-drive destination. Just check it out. It is really worth it!!!
By the way I am a psychology student and I am going to the US for a couple of months this August to study abroad. Your videos really helped to decide which places I definitely have to visit during my stay in Minnesota.

Oh man! The food looked so good! Bummer about the weather, but well done making the best of a bad situation! If you only have one day somewhere, it might not always be the best conditions. I think this video shows some great examples of “make the best of it”…especially the directions to the bathroom. Well done!

Looked like a great time despite the weather. We lived in Germany from 90-92 and I got to go to the Nuremberg Market. Loved the whole vibe, including the Nuremberger brats😋. I still have my Nuremberg Angel tree topper which looks as beautiful today as it did 30 years ago.
Yea, the weather didn't want to cooperate, and it got the best of us a few times, but we were determined to have a good time! Lol... Aw, that is so awesome! Our next video is actually from our visit to the Nuremberg Market on this same trip! The Munich Markets were nice, but the Nuremberg Market truly is magical! Plus the weather was much better! Lol... Love the Christmas Markets in Germany (and Austria). Munich's are wonderful and with the freezing rain you have the place almost to your own. FYI, a tour of the Residenz is fantastic. Our favorite was the small market in Altötting (about an hour half by train southeast of Munich).

We were there. It was completely freezing and snow in Munich, then turned to rain when we got to Nuremberg… and then almost t-shirt weather in Berlin… I’m surprised they had any gluewein cups left because my wife kept them all… 🤷♂️

I just finished the whole video,I would love to go in December for the experience, but the weather seemed miserable.I gotta do the Christmas markets once,but I'll stick to less cold months going to Germany.
Haha… Yea the weather in December can be a little miserable, but you HAVE to visit the Christmas markets! And the only time to do that is in December (or late November)! I will say, it’s not usually that cold… We happened to visit during the coldest week of the year from what the locals told us!🤣🤣 But the cold wasn’t the bad part, it was the rain! Thankfully we had beautiful weather (still cold but beautiful) for our time in Nuremberg which redeemed the entire trip! That video will be out soon! Thanks so much for watching!😊

Is Munich worth going to see at Christmas? I’m really worried about the cold 🥶
Absolutely! And if you're in Munich, plan to take the 1 hour train ride north to spend an evening at the Nuremberg Christmas Market as well! As long as you have appropriate winter clothing, the cold won't be a problem at all. Plus, there's plenty of Glühwein to keep you warm! 😂
The food looks great ❤ but I tour of the actual markets would have been better! And the products they sell! Possibly a chat with a few of the stall holders! I mean I lost count of how many ways I watched you guys sip a mug and eat a sausage! Your in amazing places but your not actually filling these videos with content FROM those places!
