At Harry's mothers' funeral services, there were people wailing loudly, calling her name as if they knew her. Similarly, for Queen Elizabeth--strangers flailing and weeping. Silence from the critics! But then comes a loving grandson who, in addition to mourning a grandmother, is also no doubt being transported back to palace and street scenes of his mom's death. He and his wife hold hands no doubt to calm and steady him in his grief and misanthropes who cannot even spell "protocol" attack them? Maybe people resent seeing in this couple the comfort, love and compassion they have yet to find. I now understand how stains on humanity like slavery, colonialism, the Holocaust, and genocides were allowed to happen. Many who saw the wrong and could have spoken out instead stood by and let the abuses happen. THANK YOU, James O'Brien for being intelligent and humane enough to speak up rather than stand dumbly by. When I heard a woman on an Australian program's posted video (I've forgotten her name) pronounce Meghan to be a "horrible human" and speak her wishes that Harry "will come to his senses and leave her", I felt sick. Yesterday, I happened to glance at the Daily Mail’s website, and the headlining article was about Meghan Markle’s curtsy. It was in big bold letters, and the article basically discussed that she had done a curtsy. That was it. And the next article was about Meghan holding Harry’s hand. And I couldn’t fathom how, during the Queen’s mourning period, the newspaper would be talking about something so insignificant. It wasn’t just one article; numerous articles were about every thing she did. One was about someone believing they saw a square item in her dress, and theorized that (for whatever reason) she was recording everything. There were few articles about the Queen herself, and one of the articles was about feelings around the British commonwealth. But for Meghan, there seems to be a total industry just based on her and these wild accusations people have about her. It’s crazy the amount of vitriol they toss towards her. It’s mind boggling.

My mum died a few months before Diana, I was 11 too, and I remember seeing both Harry and William walking behind their mum's coffin and feeling so sorry for them. It was horrible enough when my mum died, I can't imagine how much more awful it must have been for those boys to grieve for their mother with the eyes of the world on them. I am no fan of the Royals, I don't really think we need a monarchy anymore, but these people are still human beings with feelings. I really don't understand all the hatred Meghan Markle gets either. I’ve been watching the Queen’s funeral from South America. It’s appalling to witness the vitriol and hatred spewed at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during a time of national mourning. I thought it was wonderful to see Prince Harry being comforted by his wife during a most difficult time . This is disturbing and shameful behavior.The world is watching.

I watched a small portion of the Oprah interview, it concerned the birth of their first child and announcement of their second pregnancy. I wept for Harry. His words were about wanting to give his child the things he didn't have growing up. What was that? A normal life. Playtime and storytime with Dad and Mum. I watched him on the beach with his son and cried with happiness. Why is this not allowed for them? I hope Harry and Megan will be able to weather all the viciousness and come out the other end having found comfort in one another and raising children who know they are loved before royal duties and protocols. I hope every single person who wrote or commented negatively will be confronted by the vileness of their words. If this is what they have to do to earn a salary maybe it's time to look in the mirror before it's too late to turn back.

Despite being pretty non-interested in the royal family, I've somehow ended up with constant daily royal articles fed to my Facebook page, and I can say that the non-stop abuse of Meghan is absolutely disgusting. It's just never ending. And these are the same people that lament any criticism of Andrew or the monarchy in general as being "insensitive" and "not the time". I saw one article criticising Meghan for having done nothing but marry a prince. I kid you not. Yet, even in my limited knowledge, I'm pretty sure Meghan has achieved more in life before she met Harry than Kate who, to this day, literally just married a Prince. I am so grateful that finally someone has said this. This couple - and she in particular - have been subjected to more vile, spiteful, vitriolic abuse than I have ever heard in relation to royalty, and that includes the sheer nastiness directed at the Duchess of Windsor. It us no wonder they appear to be supporting each other so frequently, because it's fairly obvious that no-one else is going to do it for them. The Royal Family should be ashamed of the way this situation has been allowed to develop. If they had shown an iota of support for Harry's choice of wife none of it would have happened. We all remember what Diana said about the suits in the Palace, the lack of support she received from the family, and the ultimate effect that had. I admire Harry for being determined that history will not repeat itself, and I just hope the pressure does not ultimately get to them and that they remain happy together, defying the evil-minded (and mouthed) naysayers.
They, H&M made their own decisions, she choose to air her experiences /perception of her life within her in-laws family and he H backed her to the hits. It's bothered me for a while now. Everything this couple do, every small gesture is analyzed and criticized; they even have body language experts on the case. The cruelty is unbelievable. I blame the royal family in part, for not hauling in these tabloids, like they had to do for Diana when she was dating Charles. This is not journalism, this is hateful gossip. A beautiful, independent bi-racial American women stole their prince, and that prince had the nerve to point out racism within their beloved royal family. That is their crime.

A colleague at work said "eugh I hate meghan" I said "I quite like her, or at least am neutral but think she's been treated horrifically, why do you hate her?" She said "it's not about race, I've got a cousin who's pregnant to a black man and we were wondering what colour their baby would be too". That sorted that out for me then.
I am an American, so is my wife. So, when Harry and Meghan announced they were engaged, my wife was excited at the idea of an "American royal" (which is is an oxymoron as far as I am concerned). She was having a conversation with a friend about the coming wedding. A British lady sitting nearby chimed in. She told us that whole fanfare will come down crashing within a year or two. She said, then, that reason the British establishment and media haven't yet gone after her it is because "we" will see through the racism. So they will pretend to like and accept her and wait for the slightest mistakes to pounce on her and pour out all their repressed feelings about the whole relationship (between H and M). And she added that she wouldn't be surprised if it gets to a point where she wants out. When the small criticisms started, my disillusioned wife said to me "that lady called it". The whole fiasco seems to have converted her to my anti monarchical stance.
At Harry's mothers' funeral services, there were people wailing loudly, calling her name as if they knew her. Similarly, for Queen Elizabeth--strangers flailing and weeping. Silence from the critics! But then comes a loving grandson who, in addition to mourning a grandmother, is also no doubt being transported back to palace and street scenes of his mom's death. He and his wife hold hands no doubt to calm and steady him in his grief and misanthropes who cannot even spell "protocol" attack them? Maybe people resent seeing in this couple the comfort, love and compassion they have yet to find. I now understand how stains on humanity like slavery, colonialism, the Holocaust, and genocides were allowed to happen. Many who saw the wrong and could have spoken out instead stood by and let the abuses happen. THANK YOU, James O'Brien for being intelligent and humane enough to speak up rather than stand dumbly by. Yesterday, I happened to glance at the Daily Mail’s website, and the headlining article was about Meghan Markle’s curtsy. It was in big bold letters, and the article basically discussed that she had done a curtsy.
That was it. And the next article was about Meghan holding Harry’s hand. And I couldn’t fathom how, during the Queen’s mourning period, the newspaper would be talking about something so insignificant. It wasn’t just one article; numerous articles were about every thing she did. One was about someone believing they saw a square item in her dress, and theorized that (for whatever reason) she was recording everything. There were few articles about the Queen herself, and one of the articles was about feelings around the British commonwealth. But for Meghan, there seems to be a total industry just based on her and these wild accusations people have about her. It’s crazy the amount of vitriol they toss towards her. It’s mind boggling.

My mum died a few months before Diana, I was 11 too, and I remember seeing both Harry and William walking behind their mum's coffin and feeling so sorry for them. It was horrible enough when my mum died, I can't imagine how much more awful it must have been for those boys to grieve for their mother with the eyes of the world on them. I am no fan of the Royals, I don't really think we need a monarchy anymore, but these people are still human beings with feelings. I really don't understand all the hatred Meghan Markle gets either. I’ve been watching the Queen’s funeral from South America. It’s appalling to witness the vitriol and hatred spewed at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during a time of national mourning. I thought it was wonderful to see Prince Harry being comforted by his wife during a most difficult time . This is disturbing and shameful behavior.The world is watching.

I watched a small portion of the Oprah interview, it concerned the birth of their first child and announcement of their second pregnancy. I wept for Harry. His words were about wanting to give his child the things he didn't have growing up. What was that? A normal life. Playtime and storytime with Dad and Mum. I watched him on the beach with his son and cried with happiness. Why is this not allowed for them? I hope Harry and Megan will be able to weather all the viciousness and come out the other end having found comfort in one another and raising children who know they are loved before royal duties and protocols. I hope every single person who wrote or commented negatively will be confronted by the vileness of their words. If this is what they have to do to earn a salary maybe it's time to look in the mirror before it's too late to turn back.

Despite being pretty non-interested in the royal family, I've somehow ended up with constant daily royal articles fed to my Facebook page, and I can say that the non-stop abuse of Meghan is absolutely disgusting. It's just never ending. And these are the same people that lament any criticism of Andrew or the monarchy in general as being "insensitive" and "not the time". I saw one article criticising Meghan for having done nothing but marry a prince. I kid you not. Yet, even in my limited knowledge, I'm pretty sure Meghan has achieved more in life before she met Harry than Kate who, to this day, literally just married a Prince. Yet the only articles you see on Kate are promoting what a wonderful mum she is to her boys. As you say "It's definitely NOT racism!"

I am so grateful that finally someone has said this. This couple - and she in particular - have been subjected to more vile, spiteful, vitriolic abuse than I have ever heard in relation to royalty, and that includes the sheer nastiness directed at the Duchess of Windsor. It us no wonder they appear to be supporting each other so frequently, because it's fairly obvious that no-one else is going to do it for them. The Royal Family should be ashamed of the way this situation has been allowed to develop. If they had shown an iota of support for Harry's choice of wife none of it would have happened. We all remember what Diana said about the suits in the Palace, the lack of support she received from the family, and the ultimate effect that had. I admire Harry for being determined that history will not repeat itself, and I just hope the pressure does not ultimately get to them and that they remain happy together, defying the evil-minded (and mouthed) naysayers.

It's bothered me for a while now. Everything this couple do, every small gesture is analyzed and criticized; they even have body language experts on the case. The cruelty is unbelievable. I blame the royal family in part, for not hauling in these tabloids, like they had to do for Diana when she was dating Charles. This is not journalism, this is hateful gossip.
A beautiful, independent bi-racial American women stole their prince, and that prince had the nerve to point out racism within their beloved royal family. That is their crime.
Yes, they have been making clear that whatever Meghan and Harry does (look how they would feel bothered just by me saying her name before his lol) they would have criticized these 2 no matter what they did this past days, it’s nothing to do with what the couple do or not do anymore, it’s about their existence, or better yet, their existence without the royal press guidelines that’s bothering them, after all of this one couple can leave them behind, others might follow suit, and imagine these “journalists” without their targets, they’d have to cover political things.

Well done James, you said very much what I said yesterday about Harry's abuse when he was made to walk behind his mother's funeral procession. So it was understandable he would want to hold his wife's hand in the same situation. And they were not the only ones of the Royal family who held hands.

A colleague at work said "eugh I hate meghan" I said "I quite like her, or at least am neutral but think she's been treated horrifically, why do you hate her?" She said "it's not about race, I've got a cousin who's pregnant to a black man and we were wondering what colour their baby would be too". That sorted that out for me then.

I am an American, so is my wife.
So, when Harry and Meghan announced they were engaged, my wife was excited at the idea of an "American royal" (which is is an oxymoron as far as I am concerned). She was having a conversation with a friend about the coming wedding. A British lady sitting nearby chimed in. She told us that whole fanfare will come down crashing within a year or two. She said, then, that reason the British establishment and media haven't yet gone after her it is because "we" will see through the racism. So they will pretend to like and accept her and wait for the slightest mistakes to pounce on her and pour out all their repressed feelings about the whole relationship (between H and M). And she added that she wouldn't be surprised if it gets to a point where she wants out. When the small criticisms started, my disillusioned wife said to me "that lady called it". The whole fiasco seems to have converted her to my anti monarchical stance.
