There is no comparison between them. Harry is a flawed individual, as are we all, who has been through unimaginable trauma. I lost my Dad to lung cancer when I was twelve, and the very thought of having to walk behind his coffin in front of millions as poor young Harry was forced to do is beyond my comprehension. The experience has almost certainly scarred him for life.
Really- then please reflect on this. One of my relatives at age 6 watched as his mother father and all his siblings shot before his very eyes. They were buried in a mass grave. He is now in his early 40's has a family and has moved on. He did not have the benefit of going to Eton, living in castles with 4 holidays a year. Pain is definately subjective but honestly young children across the world are traumatized every single day and many grow up to become responsible adults and don't have the luxury of hanging on to their past traumas because food needs to be put on the table and life must move on.

@chatham43 I taught my kids that actions have consequences. I learnt firsthand that not all parents react the same way when their darlings get into serious trouble. My son fessed up and took the punishment and thankfully came out of it favourably, but he was the only one of his friends who did. The other parents wouldn't "allow" it! I lost my Dad to lung cancer when I was twelve, and the very thought of having to walk behind his coffin in front of millions as poor young Harry was forced to do is beyond my comprehension. The experience has almost certainly scarred him for life.
Really- then please reflect on this. One of my relatives at age 6 watched as his mother father and all his siblings shot before his very eyes. They were buried in a mass grave. He is now in his early 40's has a family and has moved on. He did not have the benefit of going to Eton, living in castles with 4 holidays a year. Pain is definately subjective but honestly young children across the world are traumatized every single day and many grow up to become responsible adults and don't have the luxury of hanging on to their past traumas because food needs to be put on the table and life must move on.
We all have sad, often debilitating life experiences. We don't all complain about it endlessly and enjoy victimhood.

It's an easy explanation: There was a time in history when getting rid of your royalty was acceptable, even popular in Europe, but Britain missed it's opportunity and now here we are. @chatham43 I taught my kids that actions have consequences. I learnt firsthand that not all parents react the same way when their darlings get into serious trouble. My son fessed up and took the punishment and thankfully came out of it favourably, but he was the only one of his friends who did. The other parents wouldn't "allow" it! If the Queen had led with the right example, it might have had a positive knock-on effect for the rest of the nations families, the Royalist ones at least. What is the point of this monarchy malarkey!
@redfog42. Remember that the Queen was close to death, distraught over the husband she adored, and knew that she had untreatable cancer. She had pushed herself too far and wouldn’t give up. She clung to Andrew in desperation, and defied the others. Only on her death-bed did she agree that it would be Queen Camilla - not Queen Consort as planned. Andrew’s squalid life and his hideous case came to light at the worst possible time. But why Charles is allowing this is absolutely beyond me. Andrew should have been hidden away in shame, forever. If only to save the Institution.
@belindamay8063 I concede she wasn't in her best health at the time. She had many advisors, so she wasn't shouldering all of the responsibilities herself. Maybe they, whoever "they" were, advised her badly. What Camilla has to do with anything baffles my brain! I just had an opinion on the subject that not all parents would've done the same by sheltering their children from the consequences of their children's bad choices.
In answer to the question you put i.e. why is Andrew being rehabilitated, I speculate that he (Andrew) was prepared to spill a large cupboard full of skeletons unless he was welcomed back into the fold.
I have a feeling the most disastrous of those skeletons belong to William.
