Heard an interview with a journalist who had been investigating William’s extramarital affair. He was approached to back off William’s infidelity story and promised to be supplied with plenty of scuttlebutt on Markle, which he got over many months. Dishonourable of him for sure, but vile of the palace, but that’s what they do.

I didn’t really know Meghan before she was with Harry, but I was so proud of them both for so bravely leaving, putting themselves first, because of the awful, completely unfair treatment of Meghan. I just wish these “royalist” would open their eyes and see that they are treating Meghan the way the Royal family treated Diana, who I thought the “royalists” worshiped.

There was a lady on twitter who put together 28 examples of the treatment of exactly the same thing by Meghan and Kate and how it was reported by the press...including a picture of the Queen with her hands in her pockets and the comment 'How nice to see the Queen so relaxed. and a pictureof Meghan with her hands in her pockets 'How slovenly and inelegant'.
This kind of attitude as many (if not nearly every) person of colour living in the UK will convey, is what is generally experienced. Be it at work, shopping at the supermarket , interactions with the police ... in any public interaction you can think of. It's how people of colour are treated, there's no winning for people of colour in the UK.
Kate asked for Jo Malone candles in Westminster Abbey, and the press said how great. When Meghan made a similar request for the Windsor chapel, the Daily Mail said how inappropriate and spoiled.
I'd also like to add that everything Kate wears is conveniently likening her to Diana. If anything, Meghan is more like Diana by how the press has been treating her. I like both women but I will say Kate does not have her own style. I know nothing about her. Whether I like it or not, I know more about Meghan and that weirdly endeared me to her despite negative press.

I never understand when people say why would Meghan marry into this family. Interracial marriages was not accepted in society and at one point illegal. When these couples talk about their mistreatment by society and by the law, we don't say, well why would they marry that other race knowing that they would not be treated well. Instead, what I hear is you cannot tell people who to love. The bottom line is chemistry between people is, complicated. For the most part it transcends the mental gymnastics of analysis. The queue at our local supermarket is right by the magazines. Nearly all of them have headlines mentioning Meghan and Harry. ‘ reports of rows, unhappiness, being demanding etc. so many negative comments. There are so many comparison images on Google of the same subject showing the difference between reporting on Meghan and Catherine. It's because of the close relationship between the current Royal household and certain press. It was so important that Camilla was accepted by the public before she replaced the queen, Andrew was forgotten and Catherine was presented as likeable and in return H&M were fodder thrown to the press.
I understand that there was a focus on pushing Camilla as "fine to be Queen", and I understand that Andrew is bad news so you need him to disappear. I think your on to something. The firm saw how people reacted to Megan when she went on visits and how she insisted on say bring food to food banks instead of just turning up, and it gave them flash backs of Princess Diana. But the needed/wanted kate to be the star as the next princess if Wales so started a hate campaign. I also think the rumours of Williams affair are true and they are trading stories about Harry and Megan to stop the press talking about it.
My attitude towards Harry and Meghan could have been described as 'indifferent' until about the last year or so. This kind of attitude as many (if not nearly every) person of colour living in the UK will convey, is what is generally experienced. Be it at work, shopping at the supermarket , interactions with the police ... in any public interaction you can think of. It's how people of colour are treated, there's no winning for people of colour in the UK.

I never understand when people say why would Meghan marry into this family. Interracial marriages was not accepted in society and at one point illegal. When these couples talk about their mistreatment by society and by the law, we don't say, well why would they marry that other race knowing that they would not be treated well. The queue at our local supermarket is right by the magazines. Nearly all of them have headlines mentioning Meghan and Harry. ‘ reports of rows, unhappiness, being demanding etc. so many negative comments. One problem is that in Britain, there's a large overlap between the legitimate press and the tabloids. In the US, the two are totally separate, so everyone knows not to believe the newspapers at the store checkout lane.

There are so many comparison images on Google of the same subject showing the difference between reporting on Meghan and Catherine. It's because of the close relationship between the current Royal household and certain press. It was so important that Camilla was accepted by the public before she replaced the queen, Andrew was forgotten and Catherine was presented as likeable and in return H&M were fodder thrown to the press.
I understand that there was a focus on pushing Camilla as "fine to be Queen", and I understand that Andrew is bad news so you need him to disappear. But why does there need to be an "in return" of throwing Harry and Meghan to the wolves? I mean, from the Royal family's perspective, wouldn't they want them all under the same PR umbrella?

My attitude towards Harry and Meghan could have been described as 'indifferent' until about the last year or so. To me they were eye rollingly annoying self publicists but nothing more than annoying, but the hatred, malice and venom aimed at them by our 'free press' has been nothing less than jaw dropping!
