I love your comments on Rushing having the Kirk Gibson attitude this teams needs it badly

Nice backstory on Rodriguez. Thanks for highlighting him. Count me among the fans that think the Dodgers need to have more grit, more fight, and more 'football' player type intensity at the big league level. So I'm officially on the Dalton Rushing is untouchable train. Analytically minded people such as myself tend to look at measurables and I think it's time for us (analyticals) to start focusing on intangibles and how does that really work.
FWIW, the whole segment here on Dalton Rushing could be turned into a "Hot Take" or "High Velo". I could describe why I think it's the perfect blend of prospect coverage with big club relevance.

Perfect deal, that's going to happen. Analytics are great, they work. Finding dudes that are gritty is great, it works. All of that is dependent on every different element being just part of the equation.

Let me know if you want me to put a thumbnail / title page together for a Dalton Rushing video. Whenever you think it fits into a release schedule.
The grittiness and fight conversations have been happening on other channels too like Dodgers Heads. You and Coach B might have a good perspective for how the intangibles work in general whether baseball, basketball or football and then extrapolating / hypothesizing to the Dodgers. That kind of discussion could be cut and turned into a hot take / beyond the numbers, coaches insight kind of 8-10m segment.

Good farm report as always, Casey! Yeah, it's time for Jean to get challenged with a promotion to High-A Great Lakes right now because Low-A Rancho sure ain't cuttin' it for him so far (lol). Glad to see Diaz finally showing something this season down there. Kid's got talent, but I keep getting this 'lazy' vibe with him that will most likely see him get moved the moment he finally breaks out at some point. George just needs to keep putting in the weight room work and remain a high-contact hitter. STRONGLY agree about Rushing having that Kirk Gibson mentality! Main reason why I did NOT want to see him moved at the trade deadline, not even for an uber-talented 'diva' pitcher like Crochet (lol). Dodgers right now are severely lacking that clubhouse personality and it has been badly exposed on this current road trip. Rojas can't come back to the team soon enough, ugh. My boy Keith just waiting for that OKC call-up at this point, hope it's not for long. Speaking of OKC, hope to see the rehab guys returning to the pen ASAP because 'Taxman' Dave still doesn't have a damn clue about knowing when to ride the hot hand in a close game like last night's against SD. When I saw a declining Treinen (his velo drop is indeed telling this season) come in instead of the healthier and more reliable Honeywell Jr., I just knew the Padres were gonna take it. Hoping the coaching staff finally unlocks the REAL Kopech fairly soon because that arm is definitely elite-level. Until then, catch ya later buddy and GO DODGERS!!!
    🙂👍

You mentioned CHW wanted Rushing for Crochet. Is that something you read somewhere or something you've heard from your sources?

David Vasseigh mentioned it in one of his reports from the stadium yesterday

What do you think Chris Newell needs to do to cut down his strikeouts. The K% is 34.5% ( against .256 ISO and very solid 15.3% BB). Is it possible for a guy like Newell to have or develop "another swing in the bag" as Taylor Ward put it? He's fast so it seems like he would benefit from putting the ball in play more. Cody Bellinger was able to transform himself in Chicago by employing a different two strike approach. His K% went from 27.3% in his last season in LA to 15.6% with .218 ISO. Maybe cutting down K rate is something they focus on at a higher level in the minors?

Get him to buy into it. You can tell when he's trying to minimize and go the other way, but, for guys like him, what's going to get him payed is 20/20, then 30/30, not cutting down on strikeouts. At least, I'm sure that's what they're told by those around them that aren't associated with the organization. And, they're probably right, but it can be frustrating for those of us that are invested in team results.
So, convincing him to hit fewer homeruns, in an attempt to strikeout less is not an easy thing to do.
