I live 10 miin from the lake but no longer have access to anywhere to go jump in for an hour on the way home from work, or a hot afternoon. When LCRA went private after all the public donation over the years they forced everyone to pay and have use public resources to protect their interest. THEY RUINED ALL PUBLIC ACCESS for anyone who wants to go for an hour without having to pay 15 or 20 bucks.
PUBLIC TAXES SHOULD NOT GO TO PRIVATE BUSINESSES FOR PARKS> HAVING TO USE A CREDIT CARD TO ADVANCE PLAN YOUR WEEKEND for an hour at the park is DISGUSTING use of public funds.

In the government's' opinion we should all be slaving away to pay for their excesses and not waste time on recreation. Therefore there is no need to provide readily accessible facilities to the peasants.
In LCRA’s fiscal year 2024 business and capital plans, LCRA projects total net revenues of $1.43 billion for its 2024 fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023, mostly from its electric operations: wholesale power (51%) and transmission (44%). The FY 2024 business plan projects total net expenses during the same period will be $878.9 million. Included in that amount is the cost of natural gas, coal and purchased power to provide electricity for LCRA’s wholesale electric customers. Also included are the costs of LCRA’s power plant, transmission, dam and parks operations, plus river and water supply management, water operations and community development services.
In LCRA’s fiscal year 2023 financial statements, LCRA’s total assets and deferred outflow of resources were $8.1 billion as of June 30, 2023. Capital assets accounted for $6.1 billion, or 75% of total assets and deferred outflow of resources. Operating revenues were $1.4 billion for the year ended June 30, 2023.
The people need to come together and just reopen it. We pay enough taxes and the execs and LCRA have enough money as well to maintain it. Something else is going on. Like how our farmland is being bought buy the Chinese government. Should be illegal and Texas should enact a law and take the land back.
