It’s better in person. I’ve heard it on the ramp numerous times and I’ve had my fellow co-workers amazed at how loud the GE90s are on startup.
rj31789 bro, to hear it you don’t need to be close to the ramp. I’ve been hearing this sound for ages now and never knew until two years ago that it was the sound of the mighty GE-90 starting up from Dhaka VGHS. Even though i live two kilometers far from the airport. It is even louder at night or in winter, after couple of minutes then, comes the roar of the engine going to take-off thrust and that goosebump giving sound. :)
Only the earlier GE90s produce a sub-bass sound where as the GE90-115B and GE90-110B1 produce only a deep bass sound

The GE-90 is truly an awesome machine. 115,000 lbs of thrust at takeoff power. Just one will fly an entire 747. The 777 has 230,000 lbs of thrust on hand with two of these beasts.
@Viktor with a K I think you meant 268,000 lbs of thrust... the APU on a 747 could probably create more than 268 lbs of thrust

This is a GE90-85B that produces 85,000 lbf. Only the GE90-115B produces 115,300 lbf

I work at the airport and when we do the pushback the 777 startup is always a highlight. No other airplane (not even the A380) sounds that amazing. Your whole body is just shaking

That's the startup of the GE90-115B. The GE90-85B has a slightly different startup

Am 35 years old.....when ever I travel by plane.....my tears come out...when engine starts spooling..n gain power....I don't know why...I love this sound....I fly every time...to reach my family...my wife my children.....

i've heard aircrafts applying takeoff thrust from like 33 km away.
Same to me. My old home since childhood was facing to the airport runway, so everyday I can hear the spooling engine sound when they're taxiing or takeoff. Especially the howl from those aircraft using RR Trent 800 or 700.

Yes, that's the point where the mixture switch is moved to run and fuel starts flowing in, hence the change in pitch and deafening hum you hear when either on or just outside of one ;D
The GE90-115B has a more intense deep sound which is very familiar

Now it's the GE90x (biggest engine).but the GE90 maintains the record for being most powerful (121000 pounds of thrust).

I am wondering why on the 777-300s BA went with the GE-90 whilst on the other Boeing's they are Trent engines?
Boeing 777-300ER engines are exclusively GE90-115B. That's why.

Captain Aviator Brathwaite only for the installed normal max thrust. The one in the test cell went MUCH higher than the GE90. Max GE90 thrust was 127,000lb whereas max thrust in the test cell for the 9X was 134,300lb.
They increased the GE9X's normal thrust to 110,000 lbf which is the same as the GE90-110B

@@adammullock9984 incorrect. Some of British Airways’ 777-200ERs have the Trent 800s and some have the GE90. Only the 777-300ER has the GE90-115B

If you are near at the plane and the plane is full of Kerosin you die cus it is explodig very much
2 outcomes.
1: The hammer gets torn to bits, and after some backfiring, the plane continues on it's flight.
2: The hammer's head smashes a critical component and the plane is grounded for repairs.
