That is a VERY COOL LINE...Mind if I borrow it from time to time? It reminds me of the feel of broke in cowboy boots, saddle leather and bob wire so rusted it’s only still up outta force of habit.
Thanks for this, I hear my father in your voice, he passed a couple years ago. But I can’t help but think how much he would love this song. Sad he can’t hear it. Thanks man.
I legit listened to this song and that was my first reaction too.. Wish i could show my old man this kid and just hang back and talk about how good it is. The simple stuff is what I miss the most. RIP
My Daddy was a cowboy, in his manners, his determination, his way with large animals, and for his way of life. He loved the old cowboy songs from the trails. He loved chuckwagons. And he would have LOVED this song.... He is humming along in Heaven every time I hear Colter sing. Thank you S.A.D.B.O.Y. for stating all of that better than I did!
I cannot believe how silky smooth yet gruff this man's voice is. Watching him sing this live is ethereal and I'm so happy I found his music a few years ago...
I had only listened to a lot of this guys music, and thought he'd be much older. Talk about and old soul, his voice IS his soul. truly, an artist at work.
As I close my eyes this song resonates as how important it actually is. Music doesn’t have this power anymore because people choose to ignore it. Thank you Colter Wall! My soul needed this!!!
If I was ever reborn as a new man, I'd hope to fuck I had his voice, much like soul music there's so much maturity in the tone of his singing; it's beautiful and humbling. Cheers man; to better times and the times ahead 🍻
Searching for "New" old school style country and came across this. I am not disappointed at all. In an era when country sounds like hip hop, this keeps my hopes alive that country ain't dead.
Heard this guy on a radio for the first time, I expected an older man. He has such a deep soul sound, never expecting someone so young who could sing like that.
This is perfection. I seriously don’t know of any other country performance better than this right here. I’ve listened to this probably 500 times over the past couple years and still hit restart when it’s done. Better than the album version too. Just him and the guitar absolutely soulful
3 days after I left Wyoming for basic training, right down from my house he filmed this beautiful video. Now I'm far from home listening to this getting that feeling of nostalgia. I'm always gonna be that Wyoming cowboy, just be wearing an army uniform instead of my blue jeans and hat.
I think it’s so cool that along with his musical career he still works on his ranch. That’s just admiring to me for some reason. Seems like he is a 20th century man.
My wife and I live in Wyoming and absolutely love it! Wide open spaces and good people living that western life. When you live in a state that has more horses and cattle than people you are in the right place!
No matter how many times I hear this song, it's no less sweet. And it's no less bitter that I didn't grab that 44 Martin OM Mahogany when I had the chance. Colter's found the perfect balance of bitter and sweet. I can't stop listening to this song.
Never a fan of country until he came along. His voice gives me the chills, in a good way, and I'm kind of an old fart. He deserves tons more recognition.
This is such a great old time ballad!!! Colter you keep resurrecting these old time greats and keeping them almost as they were w your own bit of flavor.keep them coming partner
I'd just like to say, and I hope you see this, you are the most articulate and inspiring western singer I've ever heard in my life. I truly appreciate the music you've made and I hope you never stop writing and singing music
The way he doesn’t use any auto tune is so awsome he is the best his music sounds good and old but it’s new he is the last of a kind we need more country singers like this man your the best colter
I like his new style of singing that's far more relaxed, compared to his older albums. This man sounds better live than in albums and that's super impressive!
And that is how you do vocal delivery. No tone corrector. No odd embellishments. Just let your voice be your voice and hit the notes. Let the song play you. Well done.

The song is only 3x older than Colter it is due to be released again!
They should use this video as the album version, it sounds great
I tried finding it on iTunes but 🧐
I want his next album to be just covers. Should be this, Bury Me Not On The Lone Prairie, Ride Me Down Easy, The Randall Knife, I Ride An Old Paint, and Wabash Canonball.
Check out the song from Dave Stamey. On buckaroo. Man album
Colter is the thing I go find when I need the dust around me to settle
That is a VERY COOL LINE...Mind if I borrow it from time to time?
It reminds me of the feel of broke in cowboy boots, saddle leather and bob wire so rusted it’s only still up outta force of habit.
I tried that but I couldn't hear the audio over the vacuum cleaner.
Imagine being born with one of the most iconic country voices ever and not even knowing it. This man is a treasure.
I wish everything he’s ever sang would end up on an album.
Toby I’d seriously kill for a compilation of these performances. His people need to get on it ASAP
@@j.m.verlaat9449 wish granted
@@Burtonomous62 haha I was gonna comment the exact same thing
Not enough of this kind of music today. Great voice of a Cowboy.
I got sent to Saskatchewan for 4 ish months on a work assignment. Colter Wall got me through it all.
Thanks for this, I hear my father in your voice, he passed a couple years ago. But I can’t help but think how much he would love this song. Sad he can’t hear it. Thanks man.
Amen.
Lean doerzz baby!!! Sadboyzz for life.
This man single handedly saved country music for me.
Finally an artist that understands what western is!!!! I’ve listened to a large portion of Colter’s music and as a man from Wyoming, this is it.
I wanna see a Colter Wall and a Benjamin Tod collaboration. Let's make that happen please
This needs to fucking happen
Wall, tod, and Childers
Wow I would think I got teleported back to 1880’s into the old west
You just read my soul
Tis long overdue imo
The moment he started singing, I got goosebumps everywhere.
If I was ever reborn as a new man, I'd hope to fuck I had his voice, much like soul music there's so much maturity in the tone of his singing; it's beautiful and humbling. Cheers man; to better times and the times ahead 🍻
One of the most amazing (real) country artists alive today! Thanks colter and keep it coming!
This man is an incredible songwriter. Painting a picture of life each song. Glad I stumbled on him.
Searching for "New" old school style country and came across this. I am not disappointed at all. In an era when country sounds like hip hop, this keeps my hopes alive that country ain't dead.
WOW!!! How have I never heard of this young man before? His first verse literally gave me chills at the sound of his voice.
This mans the proud and joy of Saskatchewan country music!

Heard this guy on a radio for the first time, I expected an older man. He has such a deep soul sound, never expecting someone so young who could sing like that.
I never tire of hearing this man sing. Sooo good.
Im not super country. But smoking a stogie in the desert with my boys in the Marine Corps listening to this was one of the best memories of my life.
This is perfection. I seriously don’t know of any other country performance better than this right here. I’ve listened to this probably 500 times over the past couple years and still hit restart when it’s done. Better than the album version too. Just him and the guitar absolutely soulful
Still can’t listen to this song without tearing up… absolute gold
I wish Colter would do his version of Long Black Veil
Me too!!!
I have listened to this song so many times.... his voice chills me to the bone.
Where you at, fella? I’m doing AIT at Ft Leonard Wood. Got the same ache for my mountains in Utah, but miss my years in Wyoming just as much.
In the hot desert of El Paso in the base of Fort Bliss. Ship in a couple of weeks too!
Oregon/Alaska boy, stationed in Montana. Awful happy to be there!
I think it’s so cool that along with his musical career he still works on his ranch. That’s just admiring to me for some reason. Seems like he is a 20th century man.
He is so inspiring . His music sings to every part of my soul that needs uplifted, but yet it quiets me , and humbles me
Hello, So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song. How are you?
Man his voice just grips your soul.
Holy F***. Blown away. Just so surreal how awesome this is and how it sounds so aged 😍
My wife and I live in Wyoming and absolutely love it! Wide open spaces and good people living that western life. When you live in a state that has more horses and cattle than people you are in the right place!
I just felt a warm fire at my feet, cold wind at my back and tear on my cheek.
Now see ! You too could write Western Songs . I love your comment and I'm sure Mr. Wall will appreciate it, when he reads it .
Thank you friend, I wish I could but I’m just a coal miner.
@@phatminer Thank you for your Service for us all .
I love that he pays his respect to the old country stars, this cover is so good I gotta give it to him.
He's fantastic singer, I've seen him twice, if you ever get to see Colter Wall live, he is great and won't disappoint
Colter Wall is the real deal. Love his music, voice, and story telling. There is hope for the next generation.
He makes me proud to be a Saskatchewan fellow.
I like the old timey feel to this one. Definitely a new sound for him.
This dude is so dope! Crazy how different he sounds from the first time I heard his music.
Yellowstone brought me here. As soon as I heard the classic sound I had to search it out. Incredible.
Finally a real cowboy!!! Keep em coming Colter you are the man!
I'm positive that this song is going to be played at my Funeral! God Bless Colter Wall!!
I like his new style of singing that's far more relaxed, compared to his older albums. This man sounds better live than in albums and that's super impressive!
Love colter! His fingers are like spiders and for how deep his voice is he has tone!! Great music brother.
And that is how you do vocal delivery. No tone corrector. No odd embellishments. Just let your voice be your voice and hit the notes. Let the song play you. Well done.
He sings of a time that is gone but it doesn't make it any less better
Yeah, the Old West is gone. They say it ended when the Census Bureau closed the frontier in 1890.
Others claim it lasted until the admission of Arizona Territory as a state in 1912.
In fact, there are still real cowboys out there even if those days of old are gone.
If you are interested and want to know more about the contemporary cowboy movement, please contact Western Folklife Center, Elko, Nevada.
Drove 4 hours to see the show at the hangar, easily my favorite live show I’ve ever been to.
The day my daughter was born I found this song and sang it to her and she still gets that big smile every time it comes on
