Ep.6 Van Build Series | Cladding the ceiling, carpeting & cab insulation - Mercedes Sprinter

In this week's episode of our Van Build series we continue with cladding. The ceiling was quite challenging at the beginning but once we found our rhythm it was actually pretty fun! We also catch up with a few things that we missed from last week's video such as the carpeting at the back of the van. It's such a simple thing to do and it looks soo much better. Also, if you want any tips on how to insulate the cab, let us know!

We are Gabe and Paula (Pau). We bought our van at the beginning of 2020 with the idea of converting it during the weekends. But then, because of the global pandemic that has changed all our lives we suddenly found ourselves with a lot of time on our hands! After finishing at the beginning of August we started our epic journey to Spain to see Paula's family.

The way you marked and cut the curved wall is called scribing, good demo.

Did you clad the other side of the short wall? It seems like it would look ugly from the cab side if you didn’t finish it in some way. I’m loving your van build. Thanks for sharing.

We didn't clad but we put up plywood and then put carpet on it. It's pretty discreet as it matches the rest of the cab :)
