It's time for a new adventure! After having trekked through many of these games time and time again, I wanted to have one final ultimate challenge in the vanilla mainline Pokemon franchise... Can I beat, every SINGLE Pokemon game in chronological order in a hardcore nuzlocke setting, and without reusing a single Pokemon in any other game? For instance, if I use Bulbasaur in Red version, I won't be able to use it in Blue, Yellow, Firered, or any other game. Come along on this journey with me and find the struggles, the cuts, the innovations, the strategies, and the potential laughs along the way.

1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch one Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause)
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

THATS FLYING PRESS NOT BODY PRESS
I just noticed your request for other games to play. Here’s my idea: Miitopia.
Skiddo is not normal and grass, it's just a grass type
ho ho ho
I know that Fire Moves could thaw yourself in Gen 2, since it happened to me once there, but no clue which Gen it was changed. Also, good luck with OR/AS without Ludicolo, that dancing Kappa is completly OP against Team Aqua in Gen 6, and you have allready used it.
10:22 the pokedex coming in right after meatball's rant is like "yeah it's just grass type" lol
Thank you ! I thought i was going crazy. Deerling is the normal grass hoofed pokemon
I immediately knew that Skiddo was Mono Grass
@@Squirtle_Squad_Supremacy i heard him say skiddo was normel/grass then i looked it up to make sure im not crazy
19:45 Diggersby actually providing Normal type coverage
@@VaellinTheBard Yeah. I've heard a ton of people make that mistake though.
Thanks for supporting the foundation! Means a lot! ❤️
As a professional Crohn's haver, big thanks, very epic!
Edit: btw gamers, if you want a way to help those with IBS but don't have any money, I recommend just taking pre-cautions against germs, quite a few of us are on medications that suppress immune responses, so things like a cold are a lot more annoying and can even cause bigger issues. Masking (if you can), handwashing, not going out while sick, and stuff can really help, especially during flu season.
Dude. Your an icon of nerdom. Its like when teamfourstar did foundations. Your on that level of nerdiness
Thank you both I have crohns and it makes my life a nightmare
Man I’ve had crohn’s for 15 years almost now and must say it sucks big time
Ayo that's my boi Cimo with 8 o's maker and dominator of the progression series and the master of the HOWEVER
It’s funny how he explained that skiddo was normal/grass when it’s just grass. I legit thought the same thing for a while.
Likewise. Wonder where that idea came from.
It does look like one to be fair, their line even gets the former signature move milk drink
@@mdudegamer Probably because it looks very similar to the gen 5 Deerling which IS grass/normal
I thought if Skiddo wasnt surely Gogoat was. Like, if they arent a part normal type, nothing is. They manage to *look* like a grass/normal type.
They are pure grass lol look it up
10:07 I love how plainly the video demonstrates the error.
41:30 Some Fire type moves like Flame Wheel, Flare Blitz, as well as Scald, Steam Eruption and Scorching Sand do thaw the user.
Sacred Fire also thaws the user immediately, but that one isn't as useful given that only Entei and Ho-Oh learn it
Yep, most of them even explicitly mention it in their descriptions.
Hey hey Editor here, so happy you guys are enjoying the video!
Just a little error on this one.
at 23:40 I mistakenly put up the fight before the one where there is a level 38 Houndoom. Chaotic wasnt crazy when he talked about that. reviewed the footage and its there.
Sorry about that

Korrina's Hawlucha uses Flying Press, not Body Press.
Flying Press is a move that is considered both Fighting and Flying. Body Press is a move that deals damage calculated based on the Attacker's Defense stat, rather than the Attack stat.
(specifying the differences in case folks wanted the information).
Plus Body Press came out in Gen 8!
Beat me to it… glad we get to share knowledge of oddball Pokémon moves and attacks.
I think he did that, as well as mistyping Skiddo/Gogoat (they are pure Grass) on purpose, he has done the whole "get something wrong on purpose to get more comments on the video" thing before.
Ferrothorn also takes 2x damage from it, not 4x since steel resists flying
@@nesradub360 as well as saying magneton is not affected by terrain by asuming its not grounded, hes got a double mandela type ig
25:53 its easy to forget, since Magneton's model is floating in the air, but it IS a grounded Pokémon, every mon that doesnt have Levitate, the Flying type, or that is holding an Air Balloon or is under the effect of Magnet Rise or Kinesis is a grounded pokemon. Basically, if it can be hit by a ground type move, it is a grounded Pokémon and therefore can enjoy the benefits of the terrains. (Also, Fairy Terrain isnt a thing yet, it only shows up starting in gen 7, presumably because they needed something for Tapu Fini)
Actually, *Psychic* Terrain was introduced in Gen 7, since they needed a terrain for Tapu Lele.
Isn’t it odd how Lysandre’s trainer class only explicitly refers to him as the boss of Team Flare in the final battle against him?
You need sunglasses to be classified as a boss
They wanted to make sure the reveal wouldn't be spoiled if Ash decided to play the game...
They've been doing that for a while. N's trainer class isn't King of Team Plasma until your character finds out that's who he is.
@@bubblegum1366 But when you first fight him you ALREADY know he's the boss
Makes me wonder if there was originally meant to be a secret boss above him, but they ran out of time and it's just the same guy again.
see personally i just find it more enjoyable to watch someone having fun and enjoying the series than not having fun and also talking about all the bad things abt it, but maybe that is just me. this is a neat challenge to take on, but i think you should be enjoying it first and foremost
Fun fact: Your Fraxure could've swept Valorie's team with Dragon Dance and Poison Jab since Mawhile had no fairy moves
Poison has no effect on steel
@@weegee3109 Yeah but doesn't Axew learn Dig?
25:50 Magneton does not have Levitate, so as long as it hasn’t used Magnet Rise or come in holding Air Balloon… it does get the Electric Terrain bonus.
I was literally struggling to find something to watch and got hyped to see this was just posted. I'm loving this series
I do that so much. I desperately need interesting stuff to distract me, but it’s extremely hard to find, even though it must be out there somewhere.
Fun story: Much like you planned for in Y, my Greninja is why my Pancham evolved in Pokémon X version completely on accident. I didnt even realize I needed the dark type to evolve it until afterward.
I know Gen 6 gets a lot of flak, and for good reason, but honestly, the sheer variety of wild Pokémon on each route made it one of my favorites to play through
I sat here dumbfounded for way too long. Skiddo is pure grass
There are certain moves that you can use to thaw your own Pokemon out. Those moves are Burn Up, Flame Wheel, Flare Blitz, Fusion Flare, Pyro Ball, Sacred Fire, Scald, Scorching Sands, and Steam Eruption.
Now this is such a good cause. I almost lost my best friend a few years ago to Crohn's disease. Luckily he's in remission but we're all still worried about it returning. Keep up the good work
Hey Chaotic, since you didn't use Chespin's evolution in x and y. you can use it in US and UM as your real starter.
25:50 Magneton doesn’t have Levitate so its Electric moves would be boosted by Electric terrain
This is my favorite series on RUclips so far, I’m always excited for new episodes :)
He said "grounded" not "Ground and".
He also said that it DECREASES the power of ground type moves like Bulldoze and Magnitude.
@@pyrosianheir It definitely sounded like the latter, and typically the Pokemon is referred to as grounded, not the move.
You live up to ur name
@@pyrosianheir Oh he did! I watch these sped up, I didn’t even think to slow it down and see. Thanks!
Skiddo and Gogoat are not normal types XD
skiddo is not normal grass, it's just plain grass type
it does look pretty plain so It's an understandable mistake
I noticed that immediately
This.
The true weed pokemon
But it really should be though 🤔
It would be interesting to see a Professor Oak Challenge kinda-thing for the SMT franchise
I might just try this in Persona 4 Golden
that would be insane.. I love it
SMT is already hard enough. This would probably be awful. Fun, but absolutely awful.

Skiddo pure grass
I think literally everyone thinks it's Normal/Grass. Because I thought so until a Shadow Ball could hit it. And then I heard Wolfe call it Normal/Grass too.
@@gigifabulous I feel like people (me included) think Skiddo is Grass/Normal is because this gen also introduced other normal dual types like Pyroar, Diggersby, and Heliolisk
@@roboslayerx5308 that. And it really does give off normal vibes
@@roboslayerx5308 i think people think normal/grass because of a horned grass/normal type from gen 5 in sawsbuck
I didn't realize gogoat was normal until I caught a shiny in violet. A mix of excitement and confusion.
This challenge has been the highlight of the end of the year for me, I always watch them as soon as they come out and usually it’s alongside me drawing which has been really really nice, and your commentary has only gotten better and better!!! This probably seems like a weird game to suggest challenges for, but you’d be surprised by how interesting and difficult Stardew Valley challenges can be, I’d recommend checking them out!!!
I actually also thought Skidoo and Gogoat were Grass/Normal-type before catching them in Violet lol; I had also believed that Mawile was Steel/Normal-type before Fairy was introduced, but that was wrong too, as I learned when replaying XD
As for being frozen, there are a few moves that can thaw yourself out; I assume you saw, since you looked it up, but it just seemed odd you didn't mention it
I thought Mawile was Steel/Dark before Fairy was introduced myself.
Averaging about 10 deaths per 100 Pokemon used in a Nuzloke that you can't use repeats is pretty impressive. This has been a really nice series to watch I'm already super excited for more!
I would LOVE to see you do challenges on Miitopia! I feel like with all the crazy situations, optional pathways, buying gear and weapons, and team building and more you can do in that game, you could make some really interesting challenges!
Great video, bir skiddo and it's evolution are pure grass types bestie
10:13 Skiddo isn't normal/grass though? It's just grass... I think you got it confused with deerling & sawsbuck!

Me when X is red and Y is blue: ☠

The little gag before the League in X had me dying just cause it was so unexpected.
As a Crohn's person i approve of this awesome video and the donations of wonderful people :)
As someone who's suffered for 10 years, I approve of this comment
Magneton is a weird mon,
Cuz it's one if the mons that'd benefit most from having levitate, but it doesn't have access to it making it a grounded pokemon, despite it's looks.
I'm doing this since no one else has(that I know of), in case people need it(i.e leaving the video before a certain game so you can get back to it quicker). Hope this helps!
2:50 X
50:14 Y
not that anyone should ever expect this series to be done ever again but if it were to be done again i feel like putting some kind of limitation on set up moves would make it even more interesting than it already is.
so many of these battles that have the potential to actually be interesting/challenging turn into “set up moves go brrrrrrr” which is just not as interesting.
thats just my opinion tho and overall really loving the series so far, keep it up :)
I would 100% be up for seeing more challenge runs in other games. Much as I love Pokemon, I do enjoy seeing playthroughs of games I'm less familiar with.
Pokemon X and Y are some of my favorite games - there's a lot of content if you search.... I just enjoy it more than almost any other game-onlu:
-pokemon black white/gen 5
-pokemon sw/sh and areceus
Besides that I prefer x and y, I know there are criticisms but I really disagree with the assessment that it's like a downward slope.
Gen 6 actually did some good stuff, great pokemon variety if not the best in the entire franchise. Sure it has the least amount of new pokemon, but there is also mega evolution that for me are the best gimmick they introduced until now, all other feel idiotic. The music is amazing, and I'm not gonna lie I do enjoy the lore it provides also, lizandre is a cool villain also
To bad only three trainers use mega evolution which makes it pretty useless in game
This might be a hot take from me, but I think regional variants are the best gimmicks over megas. Z-moves are still the worst though.
Still agree btw on gen 6, Do wish Pokémon Z didn't get scrapped for S/M to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pokémon. X/Y will still always be known to me as the Diamond and Pearl that never got it's Platinum.
@@InfernoFireStyle ah yes definitely Agree with you on the Regionals but those are so good that I don't consider them "gimmicks". I think pokemon Z would fix a lot of issues, just like you said they did with Platinum.
That ProZD reference at 23:00 made me laugh way too hard.
What makes it funnier is that the villain in ProZD's King Dragon sketch is named Lysanderoth. Let that sink in.
In a way, we reached the point in the Pokémon timeline where the fans are starting to call this region underrated
These are very entertaining and I have to give you credit for continuing on despite the burn out and monotony of playing the same franchise back to back. I look forward to your next installment in this saga but I hope you find some Pokemon reprieve lol.
You know, the whole point of these challenges is to have fun. If you don’t like these games, you don’t have to play them. I’m not telling you to give up, but I am saying that it’s more fun to watch you enjoy yourself.
Not only that, but hearing someone constantly talking the games down is a pain. Especially considering, that the viewers might like the games.
Loved this. Disappointed with how critical you were of gen 6. One of my absolute favorite gens, Kalos has my favorite group of gym puzzles, I've replayed it countless times
What you said about other challenges could be interesting man! I know I’d watch. I’d also like to see you try a speed run; your knowledge is max!
The pokemon gameplay has been impressive, but one of the things I've been enjoying most is seeing CM get more comfortable and relaxed when making these vids.
Bulbapedia is the only good site? Not a fan of Serebii?
skiddo is pure grass all the way up
Skiddo and Gogoat are pure Grass-types, not Normal/Grass.
I already loved watching series, but the fact you dropped a Guilty Gear reference at the star just sent it over the moon. Phenomenal work!!
Was wondering who’d be the starter left out with Kalos only having two games. Hoping to see the homie Chespin be traded to Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire
Enjoying the series, Gen 6 along with 4 and 8 are my top 3 favorite gens
15:50 why not use Serebii?
It lists encounters, items, trainer movesets, etc.
I think he was subtly dunking on it.
My mom has Crohn's and I love that you're doing something to support the cause. One small thing: Magneton's moves are actually boosted by electric terrain, since it doesn't have levitate.
I think Serebii has data on trainers' Pokemon
0:41 Damn sorry to hear about Cimoooooo. I've been watching him for years but never knew that.
It's Deerling/Sawsbuck that are the Normal/Grass ones. I still get them mixed up too.

I've been waiting for this video! Keep up the amazing work!
I understand that not every series is for everyone, but it's disheartening to hear so much negativity about them. I loved this series but after hearing so much trash talking in this one I don't know if I care anymore.
Woooo Yeah baby, that's what I have been waiting, that's what it's all about woooo.
I like these series of videos because unlike Pokemon Challenges "Jan", you don't use rare candies but actually EV train for special reasons.
fun > grinding (Super Training is cool though but only in Gen 6)
Personally always wondered why people like Jan. He seems like the type of guy who bullies others because they are not playing Pokemon exactly how he plays. No wonder why Jaiden made him her rival in the HGSS SoulLink Nuzlocke.
@@zacharylandrum4789 as somebody who watches from both sides of the story he is really just making suggestions and providing the CC and the viewer to learn from the experience, although it was maybe a little more narcissistic a few years back before him and Alpharad poked fun at each other and then became pals. Taught me about the snowball effect and other tips like how to pivot and play around crit ranges because of experiences that other YTers have. You are only seeing a piece of the overall picture.

Binged this series up to this video (this came out 3 days a go) in like 2 or 3 days lol, love this series
Once you finish This series you should do a recap of all the Pokémon you used 😊
Chespin not getting to do anything sucks hes so underrated and a great pokemon overall but thr line really isnt in any other games
Chesnaught is in USUM via Island Scan on Exeggutor Island, so there is still hope, even though that is still quite late in game.
Some fire moves CAN un-freeze the user, but that's an effect of those specific moves.
That might explain where you got that idea.

Why are they your favorite? genuinely curious.
@@Brizzle427 The region, routes and the new pokémon they added. Plus I wasn't a fan of how gen 5 looked, and thought they were visually stunning!
Not sure what challenge you would do, but something in the Golden Sun series would be awesome. It's my favorite game series of all time. Maybe prove how superior psynergy is to ordinary folk by not using any armor/weapons? Or prove you're just as good as any warrior even without psynergy, and no psynergy use in battle (obviously can't manage without psynergy outside of battle unless there are tons of bug based skips I'm unaware of). Either way I imagine no in battle healing items. I don't know, there are surely options out there.
Alternately, play Ghost Trick. The challenge: don't let anyone spoil the plot of Ghost Trick. And play Ghost Trick. Seriously, everyone should play Ghost Trick (and don't let anyone spoil it for you, please, this game deserves to be played unspoiled).
Watching from gen 1 til now, I’m seeing new teams to possibly use just to change things up. Thanks!
It's always a treat to watch a video from this channel. It's always entertaining to listen to Meatball speak about Pokemon as there are a lot of little touches in the voice inflections, the metaphors and even the jokes make these fun to watch and get a genuine laugh out of me when a joke is made. Thanks for making such great content, Chaotic. Here's to a Happy Holidays for you and a great 2023!
The Mandela Effect isn't real. You just misremebered some things, which we all do sometimes. No need to use a fancy term to justify it.
He also isn't even using the term correctly. One person misremembering something is not the Mandela Effect. The term is used for a large group of people all misremembering the same thing.
That’s kinda the point tho? When something so big happens to so many people it only makes sense to make a term for it. It’s how we humans are.
Uhhh... When he was going on and on about how "Kalos has a fetish for normal types" because of running into a Skiddo... but Skiddo AND Gogoat are pure grass?
Edit: later in the same run, he even drops an entire teammate purely for the fact that he "already has a good normal type Pokémon in the form of Gogoat"... MEANWHILE GOGOAT IS PURE GRASS, JUST LIKE SKIDDO. I've never understood people that scream at their phone when poketubers make continuous mistakes until now.
Second edit: Nevermindddddd we're chilling, he eventually figured it out LMAO
hey man, thanks for promoting the Crohns and Colitis foundation. I’ve been diagnosed with Crohns when i was 11 and have been dealing with it for a decade now. I have been unable to do sports and do much physical work at all. It means a lot to me that you and your friend try to help. Thank you.❤
might be a hot take but x/y is my favorite gen when it comes to aesthetics. the music, the routes, the move/pokemon animations, everything about kalos is just really pretty
(also fennekin is just My Favorite)
X&Y best gen. It's flaws are difficulty balance and story but really, Pokemon is a game series designed for younger than 12 so it's not like that's a real problem. Everything else is damn near perfect.
Great video! I'm finally caught up, as I found out about about your channel when you released the Black and White video. I've been subscribed with notifications turned on since I went back to the first video. Can't wait to see you finish this series, as well as what other content you have in store, non-pokemon included! Have a great Christmas!
23:53 Mageton is, in fact, grounded. A Pokémon is considered ungrounded when it is A) Flying type, B) Has levitate, C) Is holding an Air Balloon, or D) is under the affect of Magnet Rise or Telekinesis.
Long story short... if you can hit it with a Ground attack (like Dig), you are affected by terrain.
I mean... people trash on all these games for being easy. They are made for kids... they aren't meant to be mlg pro level difficulty. I enjoyed the entire series. They are all good for what they are. I don't really see a point in playing an old game if you are just going to trash it. I like this series, but man, shitting all over this game made this one a bit of a downer to this series.
you should do some smt challenge runs! i'd personally prefer nocturne or iv, but some ppl might be interested in v. they're monster collectors, so they're a *bit* similar, but they're a lot harder and there's more room for experimentation and clever strategy imo
Maxx “C” was underrated and well appreciated! These videos are great keep it up!
This is a bit out of nowhere, but one of my favorite video game palate cleansers is Shovel Knight. You could go for some challenge within one of the campaigns normally, or I highly recommend using some of the built in cheats! They can range from OP and silly to genuinely a challenge. If you have an idea of generally what you’d want to go for I can help narrow down and recommend specific cheats.
I’ve been super excited for this video! This series is fucking genius. You’re nailing it
I recently came across your videos and as a big yugioh fan i gotta day that all of your references are always appreciated. I died laughing at the Farfa viewer joke!
So excited to watch this the day after I binged the rest if the series. The abundance of errors in the video are distracting but overall pretty good.
