Dolliv really survived the Mela fight solo, and proceeded to become the MVP of the run. What a baller.
Tip for next time: the Starmobiles have infinite PP on all of their moves so you can’t stall them out
Yeah, that was annoying to discover.
wait what, they do? that's stupid af.
Also, most status moves that aren’t stat drops just don’t work. In multiple play throughs I’ve tried to go for leech seed only for it to not work
Ah yes, my favourite Pokémon, *Florgatito*
Also, it was very cultured of you to catch that shiny Glimmora even though it wasn’t the right type
The cool thing is that he can put it in his Pokemon Home box and transfer it to his main profile.
Glimora is one of those Pokemon while i am thankful it isn't because f my team comp, should of been a Grass Type.
Mannnnn, Jumpluff going down to the final Pokemon after essentially carrying the run since the beginning hurts
You should Nuzlocke Pokemon Conquest. If a Warrior's Pokemon faints, you can never use that Warrior again; no item usage during battle; no duplicate Warrior types and no duplicate 100% links
Yo holy shit, a Pokemon Conquest reference?! I swear that game gets no praise whatsoever. Nobody I know has ever heard of it!
@@asrieldreemurr7229 best Pokemon side game ever, and until Legends Arceus it was just the best Pokemon game.
Tip, by completing history class and capturing the calamities you can get nasty plot before entering area zero
That’s what I did, which is why I was confused when meatball complained about nasty plot.
Having tried and failed, miserably, to attempt this very nuzlocke I have to say well effing done!
*A little tidbit for future runs*: you CAN get a sunstone through the Artozon Gym Challenge. If you tag one of the Sunflora that battle you, beating them will drop a sunstone. Or if their too strong you can Covet/Thief the item during battle and then run away. Hope this helps!
i thought so because i thought i remember getting one from one of the sunflora but i thought i was misremembering things
Grass seems like a really good type for a nuzlocke in this game. If I was gonna do a monotype nuzlocke I'd definitely choose grass.
I don't know if there are any poketubers who are worse at pronouncing things than you, Meatball. Great video.
Florgatito is killing me
i think he does it on purpose
There is only one worse: Wolfey. 9/10 pokemon get mispronounced
wolfe is worse
dRaGaRgLe
Having to parkour to get Acrobatics is the most fitting thing ive seen in a pokemon game since gen 1 naming conventions(Ekans being Snake backwards, etc)
I don't know why it took me so long to realize - you play Pokemon like it's a modern Yu-Gi-Oh match. You make sure your side of the field is set up with all the buffs and negates possible before trying to close things out in one big hit. It's very different from what I usually see, aside from one-Pokemon challenge runs where it's essential.
And the crits that ruin his strategy is the opponent dropping the ash.
i mean that's kind of how u have to play in a nuzlocke like this mate.
@FuryousD I've been doing one of these for the past two years now and haven't been doing this. Sure I lose more Pokemon, but it makes the experience more fun for me.
@@SilverZephyrFalcon exactly, u lose more Pokemon, i presume u dont take into count crit ranges and such which is what get's allot of nuzlockers killed myself included (although i haven't actually done a nuzlocke that's what always get's me, critical hits when i dont want them).
@@FuryousD Yeah, that's one of the issues. My only point was that you don't NEED to play like that, it just makes for less losses. I've been staying around 50% of that gen's dex used even with my less-cautious playstyle, so there's still plenty of Pokemon left.
The disrespect for tsareena is hurtful I’m very sad she’s really good. At least for story teams
i actually have a story from the Gym Challenge in Monenerva
in the last battle before Ryme against MC Sledge, i led with both Kirlia evos and managed to outspeed and KO Sableye with Garde's Dazzling Gleam
his Drifblim used Explosion since Ghost is immune to Normal and didn't KO both my mons but managed to get them in the red
i just imagined them surviving but with a big layer of black soot on them except for their eyes like in a cartoon and i made an image of such a thing
Using Jumpluff as an attacker is pretty wild, because it has such a deep support movepool.
also it makes me sad that Brambleghast was completely forgotten. I mean, its movepool is lacking, but it's decently fast and strong.
Did you decide that Mow Rotom didn't count? because I think it totally does as long as you never use it in base form or in the other forms.
I just finished a grass run, but it wasn't a Nuzlocke and I didn't have level caps because I'm bad at Pokemon and have never EV trained even once in my life. but it was fun as hell. Flapple ended up being one of the MVPs because I used Jumpluff first to Charm the lead to oblivion, swapped in Flapple after getting off a Sleep Powder, and Dragon Danced as many times as I felt safe doing. Then I went for an Outrage sweep. I had it hold a Persim Berry. I managed to plow through Hassel's team.
now I'm regretting not giving Arboliva a chance. I am too dumb to understand its true beauty.
Bruh I un ironically use tera blast ground on Jumpluff. No mess with the best pluff
Great Video Chaotic. Hope see the rest of POC and Franchiselocke soon.
Ortega is a boy, he is referred as "master" by his tutor when you fight the tutor to get into the base
I don't get the whole no Terra thing. Just like the no mega thing from your xy oras run. For a real challenge I'd forgo ev training and go for using the version mechanic to make up for it instead. Seems more fun than grinding evs and skipping a huge part of the game
It adds *c h a l l e n g e !*
I’d ban setup moves instead.
Did my first playthrough with newly-introduced grass types.... plus Jumpluff to have a full team, as there are only 5 new grass lines catchable before Geeta. It was tricky enough without nuzlocking!
I can't believe you got a Sprigatito that evolved into a Florgatito instead of a Floragato. How unique.
FLORGATITO AND FLORAGATO *ARE THE SAME POKEMON, YOU IDIOT!*
I dont know what game has the most past starters, but you should do a starter pokemon only hardcore nuzlock of it
Most of those that do have those starters locked to Postgame... Otherwise either one of the GameCube Games or a 2 Pokémon run of X or Y
Atticus is a he, that is a hood.
What's really weird is before I got the game I was originally planning on using a bunch of grass types, namely Jumpluff, Brambleghast, Flapple, and Cacturne. I only ended up using the first 3 and of those only Flapple stuck with me until the post game.
Jumpluff was my mvp for my playthrough
Grass only in paldea is still a cakewalk compared to johto. 3 gyms are super effective against it, 5 gyms resist grass (including mortys ghost gym because for some reason they gave him only the gastly line) also the champion and koga also resist it, and even tho their specifies types arent good against them, will has 3 pokemon that resist grass plus a jynx with ice punch, and karen has 4, including vileplume which is 4x resistant, has spore which before gen 6 does affect grass types, and it also has moonlight to heal, AND has super effective acid. Like good fucking luck getting a grass nuzlocke team past the league. And then on top of that you have all of kanto as well which isnt all that much better, with the fire, poison, and grass gyms, plus blue and red. Like grass only is terrible, but it has been much, MUCH worse than this.
Great video I'm really looking forward to the next episode of the franchise Lock
Wooooo ya baby that's what I've been waiting for
For the future, there is a sun stone in West Province Area 3. It's hard to be specific so I'll be as detailed as possible. In you map, look near the top right of West Province Area 3. The sun stone is located in a little tunnel under a hill near the right end of a river blocking it off from the North Province. You can find the hill to the right of three circles forming a triangle on your map. I don't know if this helps or is clear at all but here you go. :)
Flo-ra-ga-to
It's pronounced Flo-ra-ga-to
My dude
fr this guys just doesn’t know how to pronounce half the names
This is why I don't use nicknames with new Pokemon usually lolol
Hey Sean,
Don't overdo it. Im hyped for thr GX Video. What is also really cool and dont take you so long are Pokemon Rumble Monolockes. When you want to make something else that dont take too much time try that out. I finished Pokemon Rumble with only Poison Pokemon on last weekend and i played each day a few hours :)
No way! You're doing the same thing I'm doing! I am going to critique this run HARD.
Glad to see tha you are feeling better
16:31, I didn't know even knew how to turn into the cutest loaf ever.
This is very cool, neat challenge 👍
Mela KOing Deerling and Leafeon was painful to me. Those are two of my favorite Pokémon right there!
Great to see this video. Grass is one of my favorite types and it's sad that it is so weak in Pokemon games. :(
you'll be happy (?) to know that grusha is not the only "bugsy situation". atticus is also a man. also ortega, but i wasn't sure if you were she/her-ing him or his pokemon.
Anyone else notice that his deerling changed from the spring form to the summer form?
It changes it's form throughout the game
Arboliva being the annoying lead was not what I expected
Awesome video
Had plenty of options at least
As always Jumpluff is underrated
Glad I didn't see the upload, now I have something to look forward to when I get off Uni
There was such calm music during that mela fight where everyone died lmao
I just started a run using only pokémon 1' and under, this will help me plan ahead!
The CH in Daschbun is probably pronounced with a K sound. It's a Dachshund Bun. Abomasnow is Abominable Snow. Arboliva is Arbol and Diva. The way you pronounce Pokemon names is really funny.
I prefer Oliva as in Olive, myself. But yeah, their pronouncing of it makes it sound like a part of an anatomy
Dolliv: "All my friends are dead."
Excellent run!
I am doing a Grass mono-type challenge for Violet. Too bad this Nuzlocke didn't want until now because the DLC gives you a lot more Grass-types with Leavanny, Dipplin and even Ogrepon who can change its dual type with its masks. I'm going to use Cornerstone Ogrepon as Grass/Rock would have easily swept Mela. ^_^
Love the video, but I gotta say, him saying "Florgatito" instead of "Floragato" bugs the hell out of me- Words with origins in spanish aren't that hard to read people, I promise, just look at it for more than half a second and you can read it fairly easy. You may not understand it, but you can read it.
I did a monograss run in December, not a Nuzlocke though, Meowscarada, Scovillain, Toedscruel, Arboliva, Breloom,Abomasnow
It's pronounced flora gahto
Special shoutout to the rain being the MVP in the Mela fight lmao
so I actually did a pseudo-grass only run in violet actually! I also rocked a Blissey and Florges with the grass tera type. It was hardf or sure, I had to redo a few battles too. And I do feel like I missed out on using a lot of other cool pokemon!
Floragato? Nah! Florgatito
You can also use the vending machines to heal your Pokémon
Love your videos. Glad you’re taking your time! I am still really looking forward to the chronological hardcore Nuzlocke.
that's actually probably how u are supposed to say his name, since Game Freak bloody refuses to put voice acting in the games despite these characters actually having voices due to the anime for a stupid reason (they want people to imagine their voices and yet the anime gives them voices so that defeat's the purpose of imagining their voices gamefreak), but yea rant aside Rika is make so i would presume it isn't pronounced as the female name re ka (he is another one i thought was a female during the game until they calling him a he in the elite 4).
I've been waiting for a grass nuz of SV, and this did not disappoint! Awesome video👍👍
Currently around the 26 min mark. Correct me if I am wrong, but couldn't you also get a copy of Nasty Plot from the history teacher after punching all the ruin mons? Not saying it is a GOOD option by any means, but technically it is AN option
That is exactly what I did, but on Violet first playthrough. I Ended with Meowscarada, Arboliva, Scovillain, Brambleghast, Toedscruel, and... Glimmora Grass-Tera. I mean, it's a crystal flower, so it's a plant still, right?
Love it!
This video is a good ad for plant-based cheese
I didn't know if the ice gym leader was male or female so I just assumed they were undefined like Crona from Soul Eater who's gender is never confirmed. And for anyone going to point out that the anime says Crona is a boy english does not have a word for a neutral possessive term so manga switched between him and her between volumes when translated but original source doesnt confirm either
Perfect timing meatball, really excited for another banger 😤😩
I'd really enjoy seeing you do a video on the rom hack xg gale of darkness remake. mostly because I could REALLY use a video on every single shadow move in the game
Keep up the great work!
Nice to finally see the grass types finally get some respect! 🤣
i mean it is the worst starter choice usually, only Snivy, the owl (i forget his name) and Sprigatito are exempt from that being the best of their generation, Bulbasaur is great but he is still the worst 1st gen starter so yea, Chicorita and Treeko are strait garbage, Turtwig is in the same boat as Bulbasaur, 6th gens is also the worst, and 8th gens is mid (i forget it's name too, i keep drawing blanks on Pokemon names today), so yea that's sort of the reason why it get's a bad rep, being a starter choice and mostly being the worst option really doesn't give it time to shine.
This guy is the GOAT at pokemon. Holy shit.
Noooo, deerling, my baby. I always love using deerling in nuzlockes, of course especially in unova, it always does such good work for me 😭
You're in the middle of a fire-type boss battle with only grass-type Pokemon, and it RAINS for you, and you don't even MENTION IT???
Can I ask you what happend with genlocke? or however you call this series with all games. I loved it and can't wait for me
Im at the halfway point through the video - youre using a grass type team, the lack of bulk/leech seed is unseemly
You actually don't need to terastalize Koraidon in the mirror match. You can still beat it without doing it.
Florgatito... not be confused with Flora-Gato
IT'S FLORAGATO, NOT F*CKING FLORGATITO! SAY THE NAME RIGHT!
Finally some Gen 9 Nuzlocking with NO Tera typing to cheat you out of the Mono-type challenges! I have no idea why most Nuzlocke video creators I'm following are using Teras to basically nullify the reason to do a Mono-type run in the first place.
Probably because using set ups every fight makes fights far less interesting. I would rather see clever uses of terastrelezation than set up spam. I think banning offensive set up moves would make the challenge far more interesting.
I'm dying because he keep saying Florgatito. I thougt it was just a misread but clearly it wasn't. It's okay though.
How about don't use buff in your challenge? (It's so boring when you 3-6 times use 1 buff and after that "one shot" all enemies)
People really underestimate Sunflora, like fr fr. I was able to one tap a Groudon in random gen 9 battle in Pokemon Showdown with solar beam. Tbf he set up sun for me but on him he underestimated my pokemon.
I suggested this one in the discord I feel like I am a part of it
This game has many cool grass types, including our boy breloom finally allowed to leave Hoenn after 10 years.
Challenge idea: Can You Beat Pokémon Violet with Only Tera?
Yo, you forgot the Deerling in that first area as well
Now I get to see exactly what I did wrong with my run!
"Florgatito" and "Quavaval"... Oh boy 🤦🏻♂️
The meatball is back 🤤 i mean🥳
i also got that shiny on my way to a colinoscopy
House Meatball's Alma Mater: "Hindsight is the Golden Rule." :p
Meatball: "F'K YOU, SADA! DIE A SLOW AND PAINFUL DEATH MWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
Nuzlockes bring out the worst in people. :(
Speaking of which, can't wait for the rend of the Franchiselocke. ;)
The names are often Spanish like assado or glassado, cortando
After watching so many of ur videos I have a question. Is it possible to do nucklocke or sololocke without training in evs? Would that give u more of a challenge if u don't use them?
I think in the team star mini battle your pokemon can die they just survive on 1 hp
I. Simply. Love. Meowscarada.
Klawf looked like it was having a seizure
35:04 YOU DID NOT JUST SAY GARGANACL LIKE THAT. I BETTER BE HEARING THINGS
he only lost one mon against Bombirdier... but it was my favorite Grass-type :,(
WE NEED A STRAIT MAP FOR STORY. I USED TERA GRASS SEED BOMB FLORAGATO.
I would like to maybe see a Scarlet/Violet Roundlock. Only use the most round of pokemon.
Would be interesting to see you do a challenge run that has an extra rule of no stat boosting moves
Flower Trick is physical though and it's the best move in the game bare non, a move that never misses and always crits should be a must, it's a waste to train special on Meowscarda wtf are u thinking.
Nah fam hoppips evolution was the only way i beat mela because of sleep powder in my nuzlocke
excuse u? u can solo the Paldea region with just the grass starter mate, he is that OP
Where did you get the Level Caps?
Grass type is my fav type of all time
Scovillian is my favorite gen 9 that's my opinion. 2 cute!!
