Hi, I am grew up with a great radio station that played more pop/rock alt instead of the rap/rock stuff that was taking up the radio.. I remember bands like Taxi Ride, PapaVegas, Remy Zero, The Clarks, Ben Lee, Splender, Dexter Freebish.. might you remember any songs that were played around this time?
@@ColorsBright Around this time Taxiride had the songs 'Get Set', 'Creeping Up Slowly' and 'So Much For The Afterglow'. Ben Lee's big song around this time was 'Cigarettes Will Kill You'. Those other bands never cracked it in my country (Australia) though so I couldn't tell you anything they released. Hope this helps.
Seeing them this Sunday after wondering if I'd ever see them live!!! My friend saw them in 2000...been envious ever since!! Seeing the 'From Deewee' tour this weekend. Missed out on 2manydjs too!
I discovered this band 21 years ago, with the hit "Too many DJ's" from Much Against Everyone's Advice (1998). I was listening to the full album during my journey throught Egypt, Uk , New-Zealand and Australia. So obviously, this group has a deep impact in my life. And then, I discovered the album "Leave the story untold". Holy S.... what a blow, a blast. I love your music guys.
This reminds me of Muse (who are big fans of Soulwax) and Triggerfinger :) I'm beginning to understand how influential this Belgian band has been! I'm proud :)
mtvlies Yes, but Muse does that on purpose. They know their music can be over the top, but I think that's great! In the case of Queen, such bands can give new inspiration in times when many bands take themselves too seriously. I can't imagine Muse without the bombast. And that's how Muse should be, there al already too many bands that stay in their 'safety zone'..
Funny how they went from sounding like Foo Fighters to how they sound now. I first listened to this tune on a PS2 rally game and got hooked immediately.
Fantastic in Ghent… short life of a bar. I saw 2 losers back there. Yeah, laugh with my theetje back then. Unsereness was dripping of you guys. ..who to copy, hey, … how’s morocco these days?
It's Feb 2021 and this music is still relevant to me. Just as fresh as 1998.
Seconded. This and Too Many DJs still sound superb 20 years on.
Jup, blew me away when I was 15 in 1998, still does so today!
Missed it first time around. Stellar.
Feb 2024 and I'm still here listening to this!
oh my god, I did not realise it was from that far back! I have had it on steady rotation for many years. Super talented lot!
the year is 2021. and this music video is still fitting
I once listened to this CD on repeat in my car for 2 years straight. True story.
Same here, dude. I've never got board of this album. A work of art, with a belter every two songs at least!
@@DrumsTheWord what album is that?
@@CynicalWalnut Much Against Everyone's Advice...check it out!
@@DrumsTheWord lol had no idea that was the name of the album too :p thanks I will, love this song already, known it for a long time!
As heard on radio soulwax 2 did that for me.
Eveything about this says sharp. Sharp riffs. Sharp drums. Sharp bass. Lyrics. Humour. Subtlety. Suits. Trainers. It just goes on.....
I can't express how absolutely happy the build up to chorus makes me
Wish they'd tour as a band again. Their live shows were amazing
This summarizes everything I loved and still love about 90's/early 00's "indie" rock, visually and sonically. There's nothing cooler than that.

Yeah totally under-rated band & song. Was so happy to find it after many years.
Best band I stumbled upon in 2000 T in The Park in Scotland, they were mind blowingly good.... Morcheeba and Groove Armada rocked too. ...
That chord progression on the chorus! 20 years later still listens to it 🤣

One of the best videos and one of the best songs of the last three decades.
Classic rock song. Pixies and Weezer combined, a match made in heaven
Don't forget Foofighters
For me, it sounds like Foo Fighters and Death from Above 1979 have a baby
Don't forget Incubus.
What an incredible song!!!!
Awesome song, lyrics & video.
Soulwax definitely got their daily exercise in throughout this video!
great track, brill crunchy guitar sound and cracking snare sound
This is still the best song ever 🎉
This reminds me of Muse (who are big fans of Soulwax) and Triggerfinger :) I'm beginning to understand how influential this Belgian band has been! I'm proud :)
Radiohead, dEUS...

One of my favourite videos of all time.
Not aged a second, classic tune!
Such a great track, listened it a 1000 times, not much kidding ...
One of my favourite music videos. It's funny and clever. Also brilliant song.
I forgot how amazing this video was. What a trip 🙏
Heard this tonight after buying the album about twenty years ago. Takes me back.

2023 for me...and this still busts my balls!
One of the stand out singles of the year if not the decade, entirely underplayed
Funny how they went from sounding like Foo Fighters to how they sound now. I first listened to this tune on a PS2 rally game and got hooked immediately.
Video is Absolut & song Supper!!!
Genius
Don't know why i only came across this song last week. My loss is my gain.
Took me 23years to find this song again.. use to see it late night on rage
Thanks Google find a song
This is new music to me. I fucking love this song in 2021
Thumbs up if you think of WRC on the PS2 when you hear this!
I was 15, and I remember being particularly proud to hear a Belgian band on such a good videogame
Sadly lots of those back roads behind the Astoria were destroyed because of the Tory vanity project Cross Rail. Thank you Soulwax for catching it.
How the fuck is this not 2.5 million views????
Set to 1.25x speed, sounds even more punk
Bro thats awesome

Been looking for that since 2003! I always waited for a race to finish to listen to that song playing on the race replay!
Literally my entire junior year of high school
nice
恰好良い曲だと思いました。
I just love playing this song on my guitar, the only problem is the song isn't long enough! Wish they wrote another verse or two 😞

2024 and this song just popped into my head
Btrilliant. should have been a big hit. knap hoor
Chrous sounds like it should be the intro music to a TV Show comedy.

Top band....klaar
Just found this song on Spotify and I only came here to see if someone talked about the resemblance with Muse. Love the song and the video!

So soulwax became a electronic producer later in these years?
Elias Othman they were always producers the dewaele brothers as 2manydjs
pure public pop
I feel the video was parady of Britpop.
Parklife?
If you mean "making fun of that whimsical staging you find a lot in Britpop videos," then yeah, Soulwax did a pretty good job
I wonder how many people saw this in London and thought WTF.
Astoria was nice.
best video! I'd love to be a massive letter fucking about in london
Don't you just hate it when those fucking letters chase after you?
Made in Belgium. No money to make a decent video in the MTV era. So they hired students and youth club members to figure.
Soulwax are Belgian but it was filmed in the UK, though.
Yea the ending is trafalgar square
Wrc PS2

I always disliked their "Indie Rock" stuff and preferred the Electronic stuff, but this is quite nice
The song, really cool. The vídeo, pure bullshit
Great song --- terrible video, with naff ideas. Surprising really.
Hhm i think it was pretty good 🤔
@@JubbLaRacing I'd watch it though! I must have been a little moody that day when commenting.
