    Will you do a "shop tour" type video showing your new facility, equipment, and satellite locations? It would be really cool to see your new operation, and of course to see some flying! 🛩 Keep up the good work, showing the public that crop spraying is not the evil it is often portrayed as, is an important part of your videos.

    It’s so good to hear from you guys!!! Been thinking about you two. I thought from the sneak peeks when you first told us about buying the business that you would be flying a Thrush now. I hope they treat y’all well!!! I’m originally from Lubbock which isn’t too far from where the AT is built, so I’m a little biased but I know you’ll whip her (the Thrush) into shape. Congrats again Cally on your PP ticket!! Oh yeah, I can tell you from experience and owning a business now for 21 years, that there’s always ups and downs. But there is something very satisfying about being responsible for your own company. It’s kind of like raising a kid that NEVER stops growing or moves out. 😂😂😂 Oh, and don’t forget to live and enjoy each other along the way. The journey is what it’s all about anyway. 1. Have you ever dusted the wrong field?

    thanks!

      Thanks for watching! I have never sprayed the wrong field where it was my fault. When it has happened it’s because the grower gave us the wrong one to be sprayed. And I hit a dead tree limb once with the wing and did quite a bit of damage to it.

    😊 when I GM’d a business in IL, if we ever had herbicide to do the next day I told the pilots to sleep in and I would see them at 8am (instead of normal 5-6).When I got up I would get out and try to spot any inversions hanging over the river valley. If I couldn’t see anything and still wasn’t sure I would go start a little bon fire to track the smoke. If all else failed and I still couldn’t tell whether there was an inversion then we would just wait to start spraying until late AM like 10 ha 😊. Temp inversions are crop dusters nightmare if your spraying herbicide near sensitive crops. For example , if you have herb to do near a tobacco field, you better be darn sure the Chem is going straight down otherwise you’ll probably end up buying that tobacco farmers entire crop ! I know you guys prob don’t have a lot of Tobacco farmers near by but the lesson I learned in KY came to mind when you guys talk about the herbicide work. I miss being in the industry if you can’t tell ha.

    Whats the reason for exhaust coming out so far back and towards the hopper? I've never saw that.
    Also, with the 'screaming garrett', is it harder on callie loading you w that loud engine screaming the whole time?

    • @AgAviationAdventures
      @AgAviationAdventures  11 месяцев назад +2

      Thrush with the Garrett will have the big exhaust on one side. Thrush with a PT6 will have smaller exhaust on both sides (same with ATs, as they are PT6 engines). I think?

    • @mikedye480
      @mikedye480 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@AgAviationAdventures The PT-6 is a reverse flow turbine, with the combustion air coming in the back of the engine and exhausting out the front. That is the reason for the exhaust exiting very near the propeller. The Garrett, on the other hand, is a direct drive, more normal turbine engine. Combustion air enters the front of the engine and exits the back.
