Now this is the band that inspired me, into singing and playing a guitar, at the age of 12 now it's 2024 March 4th for 3 years now I have not been able to play the guitar because I have Parkinson's and I get these major cramps in my hands, so it thrillz me to death to be able to listen to this concert on my phone I just love the band heart! I mean I really love the band heart! So sad Rodger Fisher is no longer with the band or us we severely miss you Rodger rest rest in peace😊 and God bless the rest of you all! Thank you for sharing your god-given talents with us!❤❤❤
I've heard a lot of live versions of "Barracuda", and this one is particularly fierce. Ann cuts it up like a pro sushi chef! Wish they had this one on record.
Damn! Howard Leese it tearin' it up on his Golden Eagle in Raised On You! Love it! Thanks for posting this. Mark Andes and Denny Carmassi had just joined not long before this. I had just seen Heart with Steve and Michael 9 months prior to this show.
If you really want to see a well played out, unrushed, thorough Barracuda, go see Heart do it at The Concert For The Americas. You get great closeups of Nancy and Howie, and understand how the song is played. Another great version is at The Rock Palace in 1983...even more polished ,and the sound is great.
@@churchofbrap876 I agree with you 100%! They still had some great songs in 1980 on the Babe Le Strange tour but their best music and songs were from before that 👍
There a slower tempo, slappin' bass version I heard live in Destin, FL around 82-83 ... after hearing that, Straight On, went from being a song back in the pack, to close to #1. Still hunting for a Straign On YT version close to that one. Though Ann's vocal's on this version can't be beat.
Ann and Nancy are both a sensory overload. Beauty , talent , these girls and the band are immeasurable. Incalculable. Nice , down to earth , lovely , honest , hypnotizing ladies via Vancouver , British Columbia. Luscious , feminine , these ladies capture everyone's HEARTS ❤‼️‼️ They're both extremely dangerous. Us guys get weak in the knees when these ladies do their thing. Am being extremely cautious , as these sweeties can make men become babbling idiots. ❤❤❤
9:31 unreal how talented heart was the past 40+ years. 1982 radio did not even play hearts awesome 1982 album but played crap like bette midler and the overrated pat benetar.
Ann is THE best, period. That said, I believe that the absense of Mike Derosier on "Even it up" is soooo glaring. Nothing against the drummers abilitiy but it is pretty clear to me anyway that Mikes DRIVING the song is painfully clear. Mike was the right drummer for the right band at the right time and was a FORCE in that no rock band can exist w/o a drummer that pushes, pushes, and subsequently almost invisibly raises everyones games. It is just the chemical makeup of a great band that separates them from the lessers. All the talent in the world can not compensate for these intangibles. It is like trying to explain "love". When its there it is easy to see but when it fades it really shows. That applies to all members of the band. Straight out chemistry 101.
Very well said man. And that's Denny Carmassi, who I really like on other stuff (Gamma) but yeah, without Derosier they had to change their songwriting approach....much more streamlined afterwards in my opinion. But after a good listen just now, I thought he did a pretty decent job on Even It Up.
This was one of dennys first gigs with heart....ann and the bass player were giving him cues here and there...he was so fresh...watch concert for the americans a few monthes later and he's dialed in and kicking ass........and yes mike d is also a great drummer
Was stationed in West Germany for 3 years in the late 1970's , early 1980's. I certainly can attest to rhe irritating clapping the German audiences always seem to do. Out if rythem , sounds like crap , yet HEART still kills it ‼️‼️‼️
I agree with you Davin to a point, I've been a fan since Dreamboat Annie,I've seen the band changes between 1978 and the 2000s,but Private Audition was not well recieved, even the original drummer said, after he and the original bass player were dismissed from the band, this album was a letdown to the fans. City's Burning was all right and the mellower songs were ok but it was nothing like the first 5 albums. The same with Passionworks,it had some really good songs like How can I refuse,Allies,Sleep Alone and Language of love, but they didn't do as well as the 70s albums with the exception of Bebe Le Strange, one of my personal faves. I hear the sisters are talking again and a tour is in the works this summer!
what hard rock female song was better than "cities burning" in the first 6 months of 1982? it wasnt joan jett either. later in 1982 jefferson starship released an album with grace slick's incredible voice but that too did not get radio play. radio was rigged even in 1982. no excuse for cities burning not getting massive radio play in 1982. it is not like there was a lot of hard female rock back then.
1st big concert at The Omni in Atlanta ! John Cougar opened . I heard he said they should of opened ? I disagree !!!! Nancy on that guitar !! Ann's VOICE !!! Howard's guitar !! ❤'S best female band and one of the best bands of all time !!! John Cougar was lucky to get to open for them !!!
I've been to probably hundreds of concerts in the pasty 50 years and Heart was easily among the top 5 bands I've ever seen and heard live BUT the sound mix for this video is absolutely horrible.
this sounds incredible here so it must have sounded a billion times better in concert. heart could make even their not so great songs sound phenomenal live. heart was so underrated in the 1980s.
Ann's vocal range is so impressive in Straight On, and Nancy's voice sounds really good too.
ANN at her peak VOCALLY... from another planet...

....it was the 10th of July.... I was there....
Ann was one fire!
They were so good, especially here.
Seasoned and full of vinegar.
Looooove it! Thank you
Wooow wunderbar one a few concerts in Germany. Great Heart

Thank you sooo much sweety
Reminds of their Concert for Americas tour- both have real tight production values.
11:55 awesome live ending of "raised on you."
That is a pretty amazing and cool end to the song isn't it :-)
You can tell Roger is missing. His guitar work was epic in earlier Heart concerts. The band was at it's peak in the late 70's.
@@churchofbrap876 I agree with you 100%! They still had some great songs in 1980 on the Babe Le Strange tour but their best music and songs were from before that 👍
Saw this on TV back in the day
Wooow Nancy great guitar player and soooooooo cute
Raised on You Nancy looks and sings so incredible.

Ann and Nancy are US citizens, they grew up in a US Marine Corp family.

Ann Wilson GOAT. Rock goddess beyond compare.
Favourite pop punkrock 🎶🌲🍹🤠Billboard top artists..🌹❣👄
Wow!

Ann's a smoking vocal is for sure but the absence of Desrosier Fisher and Fosson are glaring throughout this whole performance. Ann's on fire tho.

The original 70s band kicks this band to the curb.
Agreed. Too bad Ann and Nancy wanted complete control. While they did write the lyrics, the music was never the same.
😘😘😘😘😘

We played Angels at my fiancé funeral eight years ago.
Aneurysm only 42 yrs old. 💔
tight

I was at that show too. John put on a great show but no way he upstaged Heart. They killed.
Denny is not Michael.
There different styles....both are top notch...denny just joined heart a few weeks prior to this tour

Good luck finding a better sound mix of this 1982 concert @mrfester42! Try using Howard's "way back machine" for that.
Mark Andes bass is cutting through quite noticeably which I was appreciative of.
@@dampergoldenrod4156 They was underrated only in early 80s.
@Okay Bro heart was the best band of the mid and late 1980s while Madonna and Jacko were the absolute worst.
I didn’t see them in Germany, but I did see them in the Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville that year. November? Sweet show! John Cougar opened.
TwoSongBand
Ann appears drunk in this performance - competent but drunk. Maybe I'm wrong, but just the way she's carrying herself.
Bad sound quality. The show from south America was better.
Heart was.awesome in 1982 but not given radio play. John couger always sucked.
Howard an Nancy are so cute
