The NRA supports gun manufacturers and is a lobby intended to increase gun sales.
GOA is very popular and way better than the NRA. And actually stand for gun rights.
Because there isn't a platform for the original NRA's message. Anyone that wants to learn how to use a gun can, it's near universal access with cheap rental fees from gun ranges. Gun safety is also pretty universally taught. There's no concerted effort needed for what the NRA was originally. Late stage capitalism took care of it.

There's a general message here: organizations do not continue to have their old mission just because they continue to use their old name.
Any organization whose directors become rich does not have the same mission it had when they were modestly compensated; it just can't, because there is now a different motive for _being_ a director.
No person or organization that takes your money is so ennobled by its/his/her original mission that it acquires the right to Not Be Watched.

You are TOTALLY WRONG. The corruption impulse is ALWAYS there for any institution. Check out the salaries in Big Academe. Yeah, they've gone straight through the roof. The coaches get paid MILLIONS per year for the school's football teem/ basketball team -- etc. The school's NON-teaching elites pull down $800,000 per annum salaries -- for 'working' (that is the official explanation) eight-months out of the year... The teaching staff is so poorly paid they often need subsidized housing. And that's just Big Academe. The same flow of money is seen in the Church where arch-Bishops live like royalty. And then there's the ARTS. Top stars are so over-paid that they feel guilty. So they preen and posture to the public -- and STILL take the Big Bucks. Many Talking Heads hectoring you on the boob tube are pulling down $1,000,000 per MONTH. In all of the above cases -- the players want EVEN MORE.

You've been influenced by HOLLYWOOD film. The gun violence crafted there is absurdist -- as in over -the-top.
There have been a few cases of automatic weapons used in fights with police. Fortunately they are freakishly rare.
Common armed robberies are conducted with handguns, nothing like an AK-47.
The Second Amendment may be about the right to firearms possession. However, whenever any politician or lobbyists propose “gun control / regulations” ... the NRA goes crazy with ridiculous rhetoric. Look we have the right to own a car, yet we can’t operate it unless we are trained and carrying a valid drivers license and vehicle ownership registration. (Plus related insurance). So why is this concept not better communicated?
Not exactly, the 2nd amendment is about explicitly prohibiting the government from infringing upon the natural inalienable individual right to keep and bear arms.
To add to Meton, it was to ensure that the people had sufficient firepower to fight a tyrannical govt. Our founders were against a standing military (which I can make an argument that we have) and thought it was dangerous to individual liberties.
@@WannabeWoodsman A few did, notably Jefferson and the Antifederalists. He was staunchly opposed to the formation of a large national military, especially a navy, on account of the cost and the aforementioned ideological concerns, one of which was that he associated large militaries with the monarchies of Europe, who tended to get into a lot of wars with them. He was a man who definitely thought more highly of farming than commerce, views not shared by more northern founders.
In fact, Jefferson's idea of a US Navy was "a citizen militia, but on the sea." When he became president, Jefferson likely changed his views on whether to have a navy in the first place. He wasn't a fan of the navy, but recognized that such a navy would be necessary to conduct a war against the Barbary States who harbored pirates that attacked among other nations, American ships, and that he was even less of a fan of paying them the tribute they demanded.
And the performance of the militias in the subsequent War of 1812 was... mixed. Very mixed. They did reasonably well in less direct actions and when heavily backed by regular units, but did poorly against British regulars. America would continue to use militia forces well into the 19th century, mainly in the Civil War (when you're shooting at each other) and in the Indian Wars, but there was no debate after that as to the need for a proper military by any of the founders. The Canadian experience of militia units was much better, being backed by the British Army much of the time, and didn't think they needed a professional army until the Great War, when debacles like Sam Hughes, the Shield Shovels, and the Ross Rifle came into their own.

Half of gun deaths are suicides, and majority of the rest is tied in to drug prohibition.
The areas of extreme gun violence have BY FAR the toughest gun laws. When gun ownership laws were returned to original conditions -- crime went down -- often way down.
In one Texas county, gun ownership was made virtually obligatory. Violent crime -- already low -- went to flat zero. The criminally inclined simply picked up sticks and moved to easier victims.

It's fundamental extremism. The confusion comes from the USA projecting 'universally held values' but at its core there is this ugly radicalism that has always been there, and we see in the politics but does not fit with how it markets itself around the world.
With your Internet nic I'm assuming that the absolute blood bath of Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia and Maoist China are news to you. Most Americans won't even see the absurdity in that statement.
Seybertooth, can you explain why a country with VERY strict gun laws, like Jamaica for example, has TEN times higher homicide rate than USA?
@@edwarddongres7866 Try comparing the US with another 1st world nation. They ALL have stricter gun laws, and they ALL have lower homicide rates.
@@ratofvengence Which other 1st world nation have lot of influx from Caribbean, Central and South America? Why does for example New Hampshire has lower homicide rate than even Canada. (1.2) And southern state like Louisiana (11.1)
@@edwarddongres7866 are you for real....can you compare percapita income of both countries... absurdity of your statement is monumental
@@rudalibellator1739 "absurdity" is evading question about gun laws and homicide rate and talk about income. What income do average drug dealers have? Stay with the issue of gun laws and homicide rate. So you say USA. BTW the US VP is from Jamaica. So what makes Obama town Chicago, the worst in homicide rate while having very strict gun laws? Do you know who the mayor is? And can you explain why the same people who want to defund police also want the same police to confiscate your guns?
Great video

@@Master-ls2op it's called a slogan. Did your donny boy make your country great again? All I see is America's reputation flushed down a golden toilet.
