    I’m at 730 miles and watching this video as my bikes throttle stopped working and was revving at 4k. I let it sit 10 minutes and started fine. I made it a mile and complete failure. 10 minutes later, started up again. Waiting the hour + for dealer to get me, bike showed no check engine and started right up. Rode around parking lot and same thing happened again. My dealership is on their way to pick me up. Codes I received: P012000P, P022000P, P110000P, P151100P, there was an EHCU code, but I didn't see it as well. I'm smelling lemons, personally. My dealer is great though, so we'll see. Head tech has the bike and so do 4 others working in dealership. I hope yours and mine get figured out, serious safety issue.

    Good to see a video from you Jim. Thought you was standing beside my bike, then I seen the lights.
    If you get bored make a video of where you mounted those lights, how you run wires , placement of switches and how they working out for ya. Just paid mine off and ready to start on lights quick shifter, new hand protectors etc. And just a side note the owners of Gainesville and Tallahassee HD own and ride PA's too. Good luck

    I have a 2021 & had some initial problems, but the dealer was great & fixed them quick. Concerning the Pam Am videos, I've said both good & some not so good things to be honest. I think that's best for the community, it helps let people know about not only potential problems but also that it's a great bike. Stay stubborn & shiny side up!

    I totally feel ya. I love the bike. I wish the motor company was working a little faster to address these issue. Ride safe and Thanks for the update.

    Hope things work out for you. My 2021 PAm is running great, no reason to risk upgrading and potentially end up with a lemon. Noting, however, HD appears to have addressed the known problems in 2024 with a bigger capacity battery and upgraded charging system. The problem for us 2021-2023 model owners is that we will take a big hit on trade-in value because HD dealers have discounted new and used pre-2024 models.

    Hey, love and cheers from Mother Russia! I am really sad to hear that story. Landed here researching for PanAm as my next bike. I can definitely see the pain in your eyes and I feel for you. That must hurt. It's been 7 months since the video was posted but I still wish you to get the bike back on the road.
    To be honest PanAm is the only adventure touring bike I like to look at, the rest is straight forward butt ugly in my opinion (tastes differ, no offence, it's just my eyes). All the more sad to hear your story.
    I will still entertain the thought of buying one although I can see how that might be not the smartest of choices. It does look fantastic.

      The PanAm has been both the best (2021) and worst (2023) motorcycle I've ever owned in over 40 years of riding. I wish there was a way to spot the good ones.

      @@floridajim It does shock me that a company like Harley can have inconsistency issues. They should have known how to make things right with a 100 years of engineering pedigree and a lineage of bikes running forever. Although sometimes it just seems that the modern bikes are too complicated for their own good.

  • @ChristopherRuhmins

    Update on my bike: They replaced the wire to the gear indicator. It lies behind the chain guard and the chain frayed the wire causing the intermittent cutting out. Ive done about 170 miles trouble free since its return. They actually flew a master tech in from Harley to resolve.

      I think the problem is that it is such an advanced design that the rest of the motor company hasn't caught up to it yet. No room for error in assembly or from subcontractors making the parts. They need to figure it out, because the EPA it trying to push air-cooled bikes out of existence.

    Hey, Jim. Any more info about your Pan Am? I’m not seeing anything new in about a year and wondering how the bike is doing. That really is bad if you don’t have any good news since this last PA video. Hope you’re doing well!

    The Miles to Empty might be accurate, my Jeep and KTM SAS does the same thing. When I first start the Bike/Jeep, the MPG is very low (current 0 MPG) because I am not moving, and it reflects the 0 MPG in the Miles to Empty algorithm. Once moving, the Miles to Empty creeps back up. If the problem goes away once you move, I theorize, it is because you are no longer getting 0 MPG. At least that Is what I experienced. I may be all wet.

    • @floridajim
      @floridajim  Год назад

      You're right - "Miles to empty" is more accurate. I get the same with my Jeeps as you, and did with the 2021 PanAm as well: Starting a bit lower in the morning and creeping back up as I drive/ride. This new one twice has shut down with 1/4 tank, then started back up at "E", and never came back up.

    I felt the same way you do concerning my Pan America. Once I could depend on it for trouble free rides within 100 miles of home I would consider taking it for longer trips and out of the state. Never got there so it's gone. Too bad as I really like the bike. I would consider getting another if they could work out the bugs.
