Nice review. At $31,000+ in the US for the Ridge Side X for the backroads and forests, that is comparable to some of the larger sedan type cars in price. Cool to hear it has air conditioning to cool the interior.
If riding dirt roads is your thing, might as well buy a used jeep jk. it's street legal and just as dependable. at these prices it seems like the SXS thing is more personal than rational.
ok ; its obvious to me he hasnt been anywhere in this. I have the ridge limited. Its very loud inside at speed because that motor is high reving due to the very low gear ratio. He said its quiet ; very wrong and at 5k rpm it has an annoying booming resonance . He said it was cool inside ; hogwash the front fire wall is thin plastic and so is the rear behind the seats. I took radiant barrier and installed under the seats and behind the seats which helped a little with the noise and alot with the seat. I still have more to do with the front fire wall. The great access to the air cleaner under the seat is compromised by having a thin plastic lid which on mine was already warping from the heat. The area under the seats by your legs gets burning hot and the floor tunnel is crazy hot. Probably because there is a metal pipe going from the radiator to the motor. The ac does blow great cool air but it has to overcome those areas that are roasting hot. This sxs has outstanding power and the turning radius is great. Once I get the noise and heat conquered I will really like it. Oh yea , the 2" receiver had a square reinforcing ring on the outside that I had to grind down so I could get the hitch 2" tube in it. If you watch the 2 reveals that kawasaki did they were both in cold weather. Hmmmm and for some weird reason I really like !
Hi Peter, that's some machine! Never seen anything like this in the UK, but I guess some farmers would like these to get around in winter, instead of ordinary quads, or good old fashioned Land Rovers.
i was wondering my mom and dad are looking at one but they like the flat footed feeling of their Gator is there any seat adjustability and is there a package option that would be better for them they are 5'8 and 5'7
I'll stick with my CFMoto. It's been the best bang for my buck. The Kawasaki is a nice looking machine, but that price is ridiculous in my opinion. There will be people out there that will pay it but think how many more they would sell if they kept it in the low $20s. I want to see people talk about how many miles you can expect to get out of the engine. I don't know about this particular one but most only last 10,000 to 14,000 before needing a rebuild.
Will kawasaki provide dealers with tuning to bump up the limited model to the 116 hp mark? I want the 3 seater but also the max power i can get. At $30000 plus, it should come the way i want it. Also, which models have turf mode and front locker?
New Farm Sport genre made by Kawasaki who pushes the false narrative that this is poised to compete with the RMAX. As far as terrain capability, the RMAX destroys the Ridge. Compare the suspension numbers. This is a competitor for the Defender and Ranger................PERIOD.
Some say I’ve heard the cab noise is high cuz it Revs at 8k cuz geared low. Also did I miss. Does this not have GPS? if not at the price point that is a big swing and a MISS! It’s hard not to look at Polaris or Defender as you get more for you buck. Cfmoto even does it slightly better tho they have no factory cab yet but it’s coming I bet.
My Honda Talon had exhaust to the rear. Anything with a rear engine is not going to have an issue with exhaust under the cab - Can Am defender exhaust is in the rear too but mid engine models heat is an issue.
I looked at one of these recently. The first thing I noticed was how high I sat - like sitting on a bar stool. The glove box wouldn’t stay closed, poorly thought out. Interior fit and finish was not up to par with the Can Am Defender in the same showroom. I wasn’t able to experience performance but just looking it over I was not impressed.
I wish someone would do a top speed test. And a test against the other manufacturers! If you do dirt roads all the time it's important.

Great video and machine. Price point is insane when a very capable used jeep is far superior and covers more situations

No winch kawasaki come one for the price!!!!
It looks like you have the temp dial set on the HOT side.

Live here in Florida do you think the AC will hold up how cold does the AC blow

Come on!! No stereo or winch! 10 years behind everyone else
I would love to see fox shock test on it
Hunterworks says there might be a clutch problem, long rides at 40 to 50 mph high rpm and clutch is fully closed
You make great detailed videos. When are you doing the Yamaha X2 1000?
I'll try to do that in the coming weeks. Thanks for watching!
Did you show the engine?
Can I install 32” tires
What RPM is the motor running at 50 mph?
14000
That thing is awesome. Still think I’d roll with a Mule and save the $$$.
Nice!!!!

Pretty much building a truck
too all for most cargo trailers..
Cost way to much for me
Get another job
Don't forget this has engine exhaust to rear.. intake under the seat. Unlike all other manufacturers. No excess cab heat.

@lancelemay6971 how was that honda exhaust on thr pioneer with the same engine 😂... hot as hell.
@@lancelemay6971 and.. the defender has half of the exhaust under the cab. FYI...
@@MrSteve8511 no. You must be thinking of Commander and Maverick models. The 2 door Defenders exhaust is under the box, looked at one yesterday.
Bed is too small for me.
Chopped off rear end no carrying capacity useless!
