Miss this version of the band tremendously. This might be their pinnacle for me. The arrangement is perfect, and the musicianship is off the charts, without ever being blustery.

Last night I discovered this amazing little clarinet player, turns out she used to play with Pokey Lafarge. That makes sense.
She also plays a pretty good sax.
I drove through a snowstorm to see Pokey and his band, and only 4 or 5 of his band made it. It was a great show anyway. Got his autograph on that latest CD.😊

I keep listening to this one for years now. Always wanted to play along. So I took some time and wrote down the chords and lyrics. See below if you wanna play along as well and have fun!
Pokey plays the rhythm section in D tuning (2 half steps down) with Capo on 2
You can play it without capo in standard tuning as well
He plays the chords very different here and there throughout the song so take everything below as a suggestion
The C#7 is just a C7 one fret higher, D7 two frets, the F is played as a cowboy chord (x3321x)
The G is played as a barree best as it allows you to play those muted hits better, some goes for the A7
Key to get the right vibe in this song is the left hand muting right after the hit
