  • This is a playthrough using Tifa in the Arcade version of Ehrgeiz: God Bless The Ring. Read on below for more information...
    Tifa is a hidden/bonus CPU opponent in the game who can be fought against if a time condition is met after beating Stage 8. She is a time-release playable character in this version of the game.
    ===== TIFA TIME RELEASE =====
    60 days from the initial install and first boot of the game.
    ===== ABOUT TIFA =====
    One of the most famous JRPG waifus of all time... she is a member of Avalanche, is Cloud's next door neighbour and works as a bar hostess. Pretty good at fisticuffs too. I'm not too sure what her role is in Ehrgeiz.
    ===== GAMEPLAY =====
    She is one of the best characters in the game, possessing great speed, strike range and high damage infliction potential. Good at close-range combat as well. It should be mentioned that she also has a fireball, a dragon punch type uppercut and some spinning kick moves. Remind you of anyone?
    ===== EXTRAS =====
    Additional footage of Tifa actually beating Red Scorpion (the credits boss) and getting the Ehrgeiz sword. This begins around 17:40 in the video.
    ===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION =====
    ---- When she is the bonus CPU opponent, she is named as "Summoner" under her lifebar. When a human player plays as her, she is called "Tifa" instead.
    ---- In her Running + H,H,H triple kick move, the first two kicks look very similar to Paul Phoenix's Shredder Kicks from Tekken.
    ---- She has a forward somersault drop move, which looks similar to the Mishima's Demon Scissors from Tekken.
    ---- Her basic jumping kick is a Tekken style roundhouse. In fact, it looks exactly like it.
    ---- On the character select screen, her image portrait is not a 3D-rendered style one like the regular characters.
    ---- She is 1 of only 2 characters in the game to have her own victory/map music theme after winning a match.
    ---- "Ehrgeiz" is a German word, and it means "ambition". It's pronounced as "air-geitz", not "ur-guyz". =)
    ===== ABOUT EHRGEIZ =====
    Ehrgeiz is a 3D fighting game developed by Dream Factory, who are the creators of the Tobal games and the company are a subsidiary of Squaresoft (not sure about now). Namco published the game for the Arcades.
    The game does not use the typical versus fighting game controls, instead it uses a free roaming 360 degree movement system where you can move around the arena, much like the one found in Power Stone and wrestling games. As well as that, there are also changes in elevation in arenas and you can interact with certain objects, most notably the boxes. Breaking the boxes releases power-up type items and even a knife weapon.
    Interestingly, there are elements in the game that are based on Tekken... such as the main character Godhand, whose real name is Ken Mishima (no relation apparently lol), having moves from Kazuya, Heihachi, Paul and Baek from Tekken. Also, if you study some of the fighting animations of some of the characters, they are rather Tekken-like... for example some of the jump kicks.

      They'd never get the rights to use FF7 characters again. This is just a lost gem.

      Same here. Remake, along with the Bushido Blades.
      Since the games on the PS1 lacked draw-distances.

    This arcade version is superior to the PS1 version in my opinion. ❤

      With a little Paul Phoenix and Marshall Law at times mixed in. 😂😂 (I'm more of a Julia Chang and JACK lover myself, though, in terms of Tekken.)

    That boss was a mofo and spammed moves to keep anyone from hitting him with the swords.
