  • This is a playthrough using Django in the Arcade version of Ehrgeiz: God Bless The Ring. Read on below for more information...
    Django is the main end boss of the game. He is a time-release playable character in this version of it.
    ===== ABOUT DJANGO =====
    A species of Red XIII from Final Fantasy, Django is created specially for Ehrgeiz. He is of a sentient feline mammal, very much like a wolf or lion. He is clearly based on Nanaki (who also appeared as an enemy boss in Final Fantasy), especially when he is in his second costume/colour.
    ===== GAMEPLAY =====
    Despite being the main end boss, he is probably one of the worst characters in the game to use. His speed and jumps are good, as well as his specials (the fireballs, homing fireballs and spinning moves), but for close-combat he seems to be pretty limited and has short ranges in his strikes... which is understandable given that he is a wolf. His spinning moves are probably the best of his arsenal.
    ===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION =====
    ---- "Ehrgeiz" is a German word, and it means "ambition". It's pronounced as "air-geitz", not "ur-guyz". =)
    ===== ABOUT EHRGEIZ =====
    Ehrgeiz is a 3D fighting game developed by Dream Factory, who are the creators of the Tobal games and the company are a subsidiary of Squaresoft (not sure about now). Namco published the game for the Arcades.
    The game does not use the typical versus fighting game controls, instead it uses a free roaming 360 degree movement system where you can move around the arena, much like the one found in Power Stone and wrestling games. As well as that, there are also changes in elevation in arenas and you can interact with certain objects, most notably the boxes. Breaking the boxes releases power-up type items and even a knife weapon.
    Interestingly, there are elements in the game that are based on Tekken... such as the main character Godhand, whose real name is Ken Mishima (no relation apparently lol), having moves from Kazuya, Heihachi, Paul and Baek from Tekken. Also, if you study some of the fighting animations of some of the characters, they are rather Tekken-like... for example some of the jump kicks.

    No ending in the arcade either, that's just sad. This game's biggest weakness is that none of the characters worth playing had ANY endings.

    What did you mean by " He is clearly based on Nanaki (who also appeared as an enemy boss in Final Fantasy)"? I don't recall this being a boss in any of the games.

    I thought in the arcade you can't play as FF CHARACTERS. IS this the 2nd version of the arcade or something?
