*Puts on Pretentious Screenwriter Glasses* Here's how I would've written the movie. First, have it be about Kim and Ron's kids. Keep the kid actors the same, but bring back Kim and Ron's OG voice actors to play the parents. Make the story about Kim Jr. trying to live up to her mother's legacy while also trying to be her own person. OG Kim could be constantly micromanaging her kid's solo missions, constantly comparing to her own missions. This can create interesting family conflict, while also act as a meta commentary for people's expectations of the reboot. Then introduce Athena as someone who seems like OG Kim in every way. Athena could get close to the family, forming a bond with OG Kim and making her daughter jealous. As the film progresses, OG Kim can realize she's been blinded by her own nostalgia and is holding her daughter to unrealistic standards. She and Kim Jr. could team up to take down Athena, who Draken and Shego created to be the "perfect flawless version of Kim Possible", which they realize ultimately doesn't exist. The film ends with the Possible Family resolving their differences. OG Kim gives daughter her blessing to do her own thing, while Kim Jr. agrees to carry her mother's name with pride.
Boooring. I would like for the film to be about students being trained within an academy, run by Kim Possible herself, of agents to protect the world. The whole 'let's do spinoff of the kids of lead characters from the original series' has been done tooooooo much over the last few decades.

Athena may not be from the original show but she ends up fulfilling the same plot function as Eric from the So the Drama movie that takes places between seasons 3 and 4, a mole for Drakken to bring Kim down from within her social circle.
They basically tried to remake So the Drama, but made it the beginning of her high school years, instead of the end of her high school years. Also turned the robot boyfriend into a girl. Problem was that I watched that movie for the drama, the drama in this movie wanted to make me unalive myself.
This is quite literally just the actual Kim Possible movie (So the Drama) but Eric (the love interest turned twist villain in the og movie) is Athena. Eric even turns out to also be a cyborg/sandbag looking thing but it actually isn’t out of left field. Also the inferiority complex goes to Ron in that movie because Eric and Kim are spending time together and getting chummy and he doesn’t like that. Also So the Drama is actually a fun and good movie!!!!! Imo
and the mistake is they disnt bring up the early 2000 era vibes plus the computer insides kim's locker rather than using a hologram and im sticking to the orihinal series rather than the live action. they should just bring a.season 5 or something rather than a live action
I wish they used some of the main cast in a different, completely original project and story for the channel, because they were decent in this movie and I can see them appealing to a kid audience in a different story setting. But disney had to go with the reuse old IP for nostalgia points while also trying to grab a new audience route...again.
Kim Possible failed because it's a Disney Channel Original Movie, meaning it's on a very small budget. Had this been had the budget of a Disney live action remake then maybe it would have been good but unfortunately it's not.
Why do they keep doing this? Take a beloved show and reboot it into something cheap and awful? Sure they're trying to appeal to the younger generation but I honestly see nothing wrong with just showing them the original series! I can think of several shows that came before my time and I don't need a remake in order to be invested in it.
This movie is basically the SO the Drama movie but incredibly worse. Draken's whole evil scheme was the exact same as in the movie along with the twist villain.
So a few things: 1. I want your earrings. And I bet you look great with asymmetrical earrings. 2. Im pretty sure the last time we've seen an 'original' film was with frozen (the first one) 3. The character choices has got to be one of the biggest reasons aside from the script writing that these live action remake films fail the most. (Well to me at least) I have read fanfiction stories that has more character to the characters and plot that it make films made by studios look like it came from the early 2000s fanfiction/tumblr, where people online in their youths who were just starting out. Not professionals. The reason I got into KP, was that it showed a girl in high school who goes through the generic everyday life of an active normal girl with a twist. No MS BS, shes not a robot, shes not an alien. I feel like the writers writing this had went to a wiki-page to see what the franchise was about before making a checklist with those characteristics and then checking them off as they went. If anything if they really wanted to make a live action franchise movie for KP, I would have much rather it had been a mixture of the first few episodes from the first season of KP. Like the first mission we see her complete or maybe even an origin story of how she got into this field of crime fighting and how she had met and gained her team of friends. They already had a script they just needed to make it mesh together properly. If they can even do that properly. I feel like Disney had attempted this with KC Undercover, and that felt better executed than this movie.
Kim got humiliated at the beginning of the movie when two ordinary goons managed to grab her and attempted to throw her off the dam. She was reduced to whimpering in fear and pleading with them.
Oh yeah i remember when this came out, everyone was talking about it, of course mostly negative but there were also a lot of contrarians who said people didn't like it just for nostalgia
You are no better than homophobes thinking our homosexuality is due to influence in other words we are only like this because of somebody/something having influenced us. Stupid. Also realizing you’re a lesbian because of a cartoon character? How pathetic is that??
Watching this film made me realize just how untouchable the animated series is. It has such an eccentric yet believable quality to its characters. Every animated character had over the top facial expressions but new when to keep it down in important moments. The episode emotion sickness somehow had more personality and more relatability to it than this entire film.
I have never seen a disney live action reboot with such little enthusiasm surrounding it's release. Of course, on the internet we all unanimiously hate the live action movies but in real life even the worse reboots like Mulan have defenders. I've had a few 40 somethings tell me they were excited for the Lion King reboot. I think this movies failure is that kim possible isn't even *that* old. It was 14 years old when these released, so the nostalgia factor wasn't really there for an audience that was 29 at best
I and so many other people who weren't contrarian weirdos were like, "Huh? Why? The show was popular back when spy stuff was and it got lucky enough to break the 65 episode curse on fan love alone (myself included) but we were happy with So the Drama being the end for the characters. Now this gracelessly comes along and tries to drum up that same feeling 14 years later. Nope, nothing."
I remember seeing some of the movie when it came out and like you said, it’s just a really big hurdle to have something so animated…not animated. I can’t image how expensive it would be to have it look what wed consider decent at this point
If the script is bad, then the film suffers because of how both Characters and Scenarios are poorly written, they don't have to be likable by any means, but at least give them relatable qualms for audience to connect with.
This isnt Kim Possible this is Kim Potentially.

Athena may not be from the original show but she ends up fulfilling the same plot function as Eric from the So the Drama movie that takes places between seasons 3 and 4, a mole for Drakken to bring Kim down from within her social circle.
Congratulations on the sponsorship 🎉
Thank you!!
They basically tried to remake So the Drama, but made it the beginning of her high school years, instead of the end of her high school years. Also turned the robot boyfriend into a girl. Problem was that I watched that movie for the drama, the drama in this movie wanted to make me unalive myself.
This feels like someone’s self insert fanfiction that got turned into a movie
It also doesn't help that it's pretty much the same plot as So the Drama
16:34 The Writers: “oHh, LOOk, we wEnt On TvTROPEs!! BAD GuYs UsuALlY DRink Milk!! We arE So CINEMAtIcAlLy sOpHiStIcATeD!!!”
New HiKeiLoKei, day made
funniest sponsor segement ever lmaooo
This is quite literally just the actual Kim Possible movie (So the Drama) but Eric (the love interest turned twist villain in the og movie) is Athena. Eric even turns out to also be a cyborg/sandbag looking thing but it actually isn’t out of left field. Also the inferiority complex goes to Ron in that movie because Eric and Kim are spending time together and getting chummy and he doesn’t like that.
Also So the Drama is actually a fun and good movie!!!!! Imo
my day is impoved
and the mistake is they disnt bring up the early 2000 era vibes plus the computer insides kim's locker rather than using a hologram and im sticking to the orihinal series rather than the live action. they should just bring a.season 5 or something rather than a live action
Damn can’t believe they replaced Shego with The Avengers (2012) popular character Loki and his famous funny blue glowing cube
I wish they used some of the main cast in a different, completely original project and story for the channel, because they were decent in this movie and I can see them appealing to a kid audience in a different story setting. But disney had to go with the reuse old IP for nostalgia points while also trying to grab a new audience route...again.
I usually skip sponsor segments, but I watched this one to support Kei. Congrats on the sponsor!
love you!! thank you for your great vids
The Surfshark ad was pretty funny.
Haven’t watched this video but I already know it’s a banger
I love these reviews and I really think the older Disney original movies like Motocrossed or Brink! Would go great on this series
omg kei congrats on the sponsorship 🎉
100/10 sponsorship read 😂 congratulations on the sponsor!!
with ron being overshadowed by athena in the film, i think it make more sense for him to have the jealousy arc, not kim
Your videos are amazing!
luv ur commentary videos!!!!!! this video is the only thing that makes kim possible live-action movie watchable
HiKei Highkey, your channel has been growing. Went from tiny to that sweet sweet Surfshark sponsorship 🔥🔥🔥
Kim Possible failed because it's a Disney Channel Original Movie, meaning it's on a very small budget. Had this been had the budget of a Disney live action remake then maybe it would have been good but unfortunately it's not.
The crazy thing is that the bullying is super accurate in the movie, even a little toned down.
Okay, very toned down.
Why do they keep doing this? Take a beloved show and reboot it into something cheap and awful? Sure they're trying to appeal to the younger generation but I honestly see nothing wrong with just showing them the original series! I can think of several shows that came before my time and I don't need a remake in order to be invested in it.
Same! Amen to that! :)
Unless they can somehow find a way to make the remake good, but, if not, amen to that! :)
This movie is basically the SO the Drama movie but incredibly worse. Draken's whole evil scheme was the exact same as in the movie along with the twist villain.
This reminded me to watch Sorry to Bother You, thank you Kei
I would love to see your review about the One Piece live action!
(also congrats on your first sponsor!!)
One of the actresses names that you said is my grandma’s full name and I sat STRAIGHT up like “grandma is an actress??!!!”
So a few things:
1. I want your earrings. And I bet you look great with asymmetrical earrings.
2. Im pretty sure the last time we've seen an 'original' film was with frozen (the first one)
I feel like Disney had attempted this with KC Undercover, and that felt better executed than this movie.
even frozen was based on a hans christian andersson fairytale TwT
Congrats on the first sponsor
I literally forgot this was even a thing until I was notified of this video.
HELP MY MOMS FRIEND WORKED ON THIS MOVIE😭😭😭 it was so bad but I had to lie to her that it was good
Huge missed opportunity to have a real hairless rat
I wasn’t ready for Kei with short hair but I’m definitely not going to complain 👀
Kim got humiliated at the beginning of the movie when two ordinary goons managed to grab her and attempted to throw her off the dam. She was reduced to whimpering in fear and pleading with them.
4 STORY HIGH SCHOOL??? WHAT
Yeah it’s called Greenlevel high now I think?
Oh yeah i remember when this came out, everyone was talking about it, of course mostly negative but there were also a lot of contrarians who said people didn't like it just for nostalgia
always always love your videos! your perspective and humor are very engaging!!! i would love to see you review a good movie sometime by the way!!!
Kim possible is responsible for several lesbians (well, technically shego is) so this movie is a hate crime
Knowing the age difference between Kim and Shego, I know folks still ship 'em, but ehhhh...
You are no better than homophobes thinking our homosexuality is due to influence in other words we are only like this because of somebody/something having influenced us. Stupid. Also realizing you’re a lesbian because of a cartoon character? How pathetic is that??
Wow youtube changed my notification preferences to no notifications for your videos. Good thing I scrolled through my subscription feed
Y'know i just realized something, where is Monique? Kim's other friend besides Ron and Rufus?
HiKeiLokei is so babygirl (and he looks nice with his hair long or short but that’s besides the point)🤭🤭🤭
22:12 He just sells some NFTS that were stored in Athena’s brain so she has more storage for an anti-virus/hacking software
Sean Giambrone is probably the best casting choice here.
Watching this film made me realize just how untouchable the animated series is. It has such an eccentric yet believable quality to its characters. Every animated character had over the top facial expressions but new when to keep it down in important moments. The episode emotion sickness somehow had more personality and more relatability to it than this entire film.
Hmmmm high school teenagers laughing at someone who slipped and fell while a fifteen year old girl is being kidnapped? Yea, I can buy that!
I like to forget this exists. ☺️
I love this video 😭
Lol The year this movie came out, I only saw 1 commentary video about this and I never thought about this movie ever again.
It’s so funny seeing “Adam Goldberg” in something other than the goldbergs show🤣
If the script is bad, then the film suffers because of how both Characters and Scenarios are poorly written, they don't have to be likable by any means, but at least give them relatable qualms for audience to connect with.
