So, from what I could find, the different run times are due to 3 different things. The 90 min time came from how long the movie was meant to be WITH commercials. However, on release night it ended up only being 75 min somehow(?). The 55 min version has no commercials but includes one extra scene at the end with Timmy’s parents taking a “vacation” in their front yard when Crocker crashes to the ground in front of them. And finally the 48 min version just doesn’t have any of that and is the streaming version. Correct me if I’m wrong on any of that though!

@@hikeilokeihere is most definitely two versions. You have the first version, then you have the cut down version.
In the original you see what becomes of a lot of characters, Vickey, Von Strangle, Timmy Friends a lot of side characters get a finally.
It strange because the cut down version removes a lot of von Strangle scenes of him trying to prove Timmy grown up. It makes the cut down version weird because he appears in the beginning (I think, I not sure actually,) then he pops up in the end.
It really messed with the pacing of the story overall and made it worst than what it was, if you can believe that
Edit: Also in the original version Timmy Teacher does get out of the ball pit

Fairly OddParents INITIALLY ended in 2006. They were planning a theatrical feature film, but it was cancelled.
Interestingly, Nelvana holds all distribution rights outside of the United States (so basically Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and all other countries) to these first five seasons, which is why some countries had it on Disney or Cartoon Network instead of Nick; even the international Nickelodeon channels that aired it acquired it from Nelvana.
Though Paramount still released the DVDs in Canada, just replacing all Nick logos on the packaging with Nelvana, despite Kaboom! Entertainment being Nelvana's distributor at the time; same with The Backyardigans, which was a co-prod with both Nick and Nelvana with the same distribution situation as Fairly OddParents.
Nick brought the series back in 2008 though due to its popularity. Nick owns worldwide distribution to all Season 6 to 10 episodes.
Then that popularity kinda made it plummet.
They had the live action movie trilogy, but then they had the Fairly Odder series on Paramount+, which was later removed from streaming. Even broadcasting the episodes on Nickelodeon as "new episodes" (alongside new episodes of the much better & much more popular live-action Nicktoon series "The Really Loud House") wasn't enough to save it.
Bottom line: FOP truly ended in 2006. Nothing after that should be canon.

Also I think it's funny that they kept this on Paramount+... guess it must be well-remembered enough to be a legacy addition to the catalog lol, because it feels like they purposefully exclude some things if it's too embarrassing or unsuccessful. The promo to this movie having Timmy say "I wish I was Drake Bell!" didn't age well specifically... But I'm anticipating for the Christmas and Summer sequels to be reviewed, since no one talked about them as much as the first. Hell, I only remember some scenes from the second movie and not the third cuz they are very forgettable. I'll admit, Timmy and Tootie have good chemistry here unlike their cartoon counterparts and felt pretty cute. Too bad Cosmo and Wanda had to ruin it instead of moving on. I also like the joke where Poof "speaks for the first time" at the end(even as a kid), the actor who played Crocker in live action was good and close to the original cartoon iteration; in addition we have Susanna Blakesee, Daron Norris, and Tara Strong reprise their roles as Wanda, Cosmo, and Poof(while Strong plays Fairy!Timmy in the third movie), and the second mentioned played Timmy's Dad in live action. Jorgen is enjoyable, alongside the pirate invasion in the beginning. That's about it. At least this movie isn't as godawful as Fairly Odder, lol.

Most of this movie feels an hour long Funny or Die sketch, and I’d call it a fan film, but that would imply there was passion in this (except the actor who plays Crocker; he’s pretty spot-on and deserves a place alongside Willem DeFao as Ryuk in Netflix’s Death Note in the hall of fame for “People Giving a Better Performance Than Their Movie Deserved”).
The big issue here is Fairly OddParents already has, like, 3 or 4 possible and infinitely better series finales: Wishology, Channel Chasers, Meet the Odd Parents, even Abra-Catastrophe could’ve ended the series on a high note! But this…this is just rough to get through, and Fairly Odd Summer completely breaks the rules and even grinds whatever was left of Timmy’s character into dust. Drake Bell and Daniella Monet are fine actors, but they’re hopelessly miscast in this movie from the jump and it just never recovers-and, thanks to Fairly Odder not learning from past sins, it doesn’t even get the honor of being the worst version of this stupid, terrible, awful idea.

I believe the different runtimes come from the fact that at the time any time Nickelodeon had a movie or anticipated tv special they would add in an extra scene or two for the first airing that they would then take out for every rerun. every once in a while though they would show the original airing again and advertise it as a special “extended” version. off the top of my head I can think of this happening with the iCarly special where Freddie saved her life and the iParty with Victorious special. drove me crazy as a kid though thinking I just imagined those extra scenes or somehow forgot them when the full versions would rerun

The only ending that I will accept as cannon is the ending of channel chaser when we see into the future of an a adult timmy tunner with his own kids that he doesn’t make time for and leaves with a robot Vicky giving his kids fairy god parents as a result, lowkey channel chasers kinda ties the series up and brings it full circle and if they wanted to bring it back as a reboot then they could’ve based the reboot off of his kids having fairies and maybe him slowly remembering he had them as a kid but 🤷🏽‍♀️Acting if I remembering correctly Butch wanted it to end the show with channel chasers but they made him do more seasons, which resulted in him slowly killing his own creation as sad as it is shoutout to butch for giving us one of the most unforgettable Nickelodeon shows 🫶🏽big purr to you Butch H. 💅🏾

If you saw Quinton's review, this is only the beginning of this live action FRANCHISE when the last movie had Timmy DIE and turn into a CGI baby fairy abomination version of his 10-year old self (with his old voice actor returning voicing him) and Tootsie looked very uncomfortable but said she tries to be used to him reverting to a child again and continuing dating him!
Assuming anyone else still don't see fairies so she would look very delusional dating a tiny fairy boy but at least she will not get caught from doing any inappropriate physical with his child body! I really hope not or else it would be sick.

From what Butch Hartman himself explained (after LS Mark asked him), none of the endings (Channel Chasers, Grow Up Timmy Turner, Fairly Odder, or the Netflix show) are “canon” in any definitive sense. They’re basically like different branches of possible futures, like how there’s different Spider-Man comics and movies with different continuities.
So pick the one you like best, honestly.

How I describe the characters in the love trilogy:
    * Timmy - more kinder yet still careless apart from his animated counterpart.
    * The fairies - Still doofus and dramaqueens as usual.
    * Tootie - Fully developed and more good luck.
    * Crocker - A real idiot who makes weird funny and laughing.
    * Jorgen - Not-so tyranny yet short-tempered.
    * Vicky - Quite grouchy and hotheaded than evil from her animated counterpart yet still has small roles again.
    * Timmy’s parents - Crybabies who neglect Timmy yet less annoying and dimwitted than their animated counterparts.

There's a couple of things that bother me greatly in this movie, including the romantic aspects. Long rant incoming:
First of all, stating that love is a sign of maturity and that falling in love would cause Timmy to lose his fairies makes no sense. Ignoring the fact that there's several kinds of love that can all be felt prior to adulthood, Timmy actually has fallen in love before, at kindergarten age even! Sure, you could say that it's just a crush and that it's just puppy love, but the movie never states that there's a difference or that either don't count, not to mention that its definition of "love" is just as shallow as well. So according to this movie, Timmy should've lost his fairies _before he even HAD fairies!_
Secondly, the girl Timmy had fallen in love with since kindergarten? Trixie Tang. _Where is she?!_ I know this is a Timmy x Tootie movie, but Timmy having this huge crush on Trixie instead was a common recurrence in the actual show at this point, enough to be a significant aspect in the entire series... yet Trixie hasn't even been mentioned ONCE. You'd think that they'd at least try to explain when or why Timmy moved on from Trixie, but she has never been acknowledged in the whole movie...TRILOGY. As if she had NEVER existed! This is also a significant problem continuity-wise, because Trixie ALSO had kissed Timmy before. It was her debut episode back in Season 1, "A Wish Too Far". Heck, Timmy and Trixie kissed in "Wishology", which aired two years prior to this movie. Yet this movie likes to pretend that Tootie is the ONLY girl that kissed Timmy.
Also, where's Cupid in all of this? You'd think that this love-focused movie would have the fairy governor of love in it as an important character, but he has never been acknowledged, either (probably because it would ruin the whole "love = adulthood" thing this movie tries to propagate).
Lastly, this movie has continuity issues. Actually, I think it'd be fair to say that, retroactively speaking, the entire Fairly OddMovie trilogy has continuity issues. I already mentioned them pretending that love would cause Timmy to lose his fairies when this wasn't the case in the actual show, and I also mentioned Trixie having actually kissed Timmy despite the movie telling only Tootie had. And we know that retroactive continuity error of Timmy not having a dog when Sparky would be introduced in Season 9 (which would take place before the movie), but also of note is that the trilogy doesn't seem to remember that we already see a 30-year old swole Timmy being the dad of two kids resembling him, Tootie and Trixie, and having no memory of fairies, back in "Channel Chasers". Why? Well, because the third movie, Fairly OddSummer, decides to go completely against that ending, by _reincarnating Timmy as a fairy._ Voiced by Tara Strong so now that he sounds like his 10-year old self! Also, Fairly OddMovie ends with Timmy still remembering his fairies, even though he shouldn't anymore according to "Channel Chasers".
I really don't believe this is supposed to be the canonical ending of the series: there's issues that go completely against some previously established, exceptionally significant points. I think it's likely that Butch wanted to retcon a bunch of stuff like all Trixie-related aspects (which would be kind of a dick move, especially in light of Wishology only a couple years prior) and go full Timmy x Tootie, but giving two more sequels, adding Sparky to the main series despite this movie stating Timmy never had a dog, and giving the third movie a definite ending that goes completely against the ending of _one of the most widely beloved Fairly OddParents specials of the entire franchise,_ makes the whole "this is the canonical ending" a retcon in itself. The events of this film can only exist in an alternate timeline now.

    • @ELRIFL
      @ELRIFL Год назад +8

To be fair, pushing Timmy/Trixie in season 6 to begin with after they had basically sunk that ship in season 4 made no sense. Trixie essentially bodysnatched a role meant for Tootie in Wishology.... why was she regarded as one of Timmy's friends? Why was Vicky willing to help? Why was the movie pretending Trixie ever cared about Timmy? It made no sense and it was controversial at the time.

"And blasts them with some gear that he stole from the set of 'Ghostbusters'..."
"And gets on a dirt bike that he got from Chapter 4 of 'Fortnite'.."
But 18:18 is probably the best joke ever. How he makes it sound horrifying, cause we all agree that those places made us claustraphobic.
