    Howdy, folks! Just to clarify, hybrid RAV4s only have ONE electric motor driving the rear wheels, NOT TWO as I stated in this video. Please forgive me. Clearly, I have no idea what I’m talking about!

    I recently bought 2019 RAV-4 XLE Hybrid. After I bought the car, I noticed the car makes sort of loud high pitch noise when I put the gear in reverse. When I told the dealer about it, they told me it's normal and all the hybrid cars make that noise. Did you notice any noises in the reverse gear when you did the test drive? Thank you,

    • @Lucky8s
      @Lucky8s 5 лет назад

      That's normal. Every hybrid will make a sci-fi like noise when in reverse (and even in drive, though lower volume) for safety (alerting pedestrians the car is on and moving). It's to compensate for the absence of engine sound at low speed. Toyota markets it as Vehicle Proximity Notification System.

    Why not putting the brand new 2.0L engine from the Corolla hatchback in this RAV4 ? Good performance and better fuel mileage; Maybe to push the sale of the higher priced hybrid model... But really Nice overall !

    • @cargueone1971
      @cargueone1971 6 лет назад +1

      vapor4den / makes no sense. Why? The 2.0 is based on this 2.5. This is an all new motor. This is not the same 2.5 the RAV4 had last model year. The 2.5 has greater torque. Also, putting the 2.0, fuel mileage would go down because the engine would be working harder.

    • @xtrascientific

      The black body cladding is a cheap way to make it look like it has a higher ride height/suspension travel. It would look tall and heavy if it were body color. It's an effective visual trick, distracting the consumer from the fact that they are simply buying a tall car with a slightly higher ride height.

    Looks like if I get the Rav 4 Ill be getting the dealer to replace the tires before I buy it.
    Sad for a brand new car to worry about tires....
    Edit: Come to find out my CHR that I bought here in New England was sold to me with Summer Sport tires. lol. Ya so had to spend 800 bucks to get all new tires on a brand new vehicle that Ive only put 20k miles on. Also....Dunlop sucks Toyota...stop using them. :-)

    • @baronvonjo1929
      @baronvonjo1929 4 года назад

      I cant wait to get rid if my sedan. No ground clearance and trunk space sucks. The reason CUVs are superior to sedans is quit simple. You can watch car reviews and they always have to talk about passenger head room in the back. You have a trunk and with the seats down a bad tunnel that cuts if extra space. If you have body aches and pains squatting down or lowering yourself might be painful. I know it's like that for my mom. A family friend who is really into cars works insurance he refused to let her get a sedan like she wanted because the are less safe in crashes. And he works in insurnace so I'm gonna take his word. Some CUVs especially the smallest are questionable on why the exist when the dont have the ground clearance or room. But most have that over sedans. I know a sedan could never have been a good family car for my family. With dogs and a lot of cargo. Plus most CUVs get around or at the same MPG as sedans. I needed a car at the time so I got a sedan. And I like it for what it is I hate the ground cleance. The skid plate underneath just started ripping away this weekend and I'm so pissed. I'll never get another one.

    Awesome review as always. Kudos to Toyota for not putting a CVT Transmission in the RAV4 and allowing you to uncouple the rear diff but what is it with this giant front grill trend? It's ugly! You could run a Bugatti Veyron engine in this thing and it wouldn't run hot. Jumping Jesus, enough with the big grills!

      Blake Swan it'll sell because it's good. Infotainment aside, this is the best RAV4 yet. The 0 to 60 of the Hybrid almost matches the old V6. Made in Japan, vs the poorly assembled V6 generation, it'll last just as long even though it's more complicated. I would love a V6. But I have a V6 RAV4 years ago. The build quality and the engine eating transmissions ( 2 were replaced under warranty) turned me off. However, a Japanese built V6 may change my mind. However, Toyota 4 cylinders usually last. Long time, even the U.S. built ones.

    I'm sorry, one of the most pitiful and least informative reviews I've ever witnessed. Annoying persona/voice and real lack of model knowledge aside, there is no real information in here to compare to the previous model (on-road/off-road, handling, space comparisons, infotainment comparisons, how does it 'feel', 'sound'. Aside, from that, I like the new styling esp the new "Tacoma" mouth, but understand that is very personal. Each compact grows in size each year, so curious to how this will affect current CUV sales this year. Def a watcher of this vehicle, but I'll stick to TFL and Redline for actual reviews.
