- The 2020 college football season is already off to an inauspicious start as the Power Five conferences can't agree on anything when it comes to playing. The SEC decides to set off on a road trip with only one destination: the 2020 season. Anybody who wants to come needs to hop in...within reason.

@@greatflare0073 college football was never really about championships, at least that is my feeling after attending two actual PAC12 schools. And, I think that's how most people who actually went to school at these schools feel. Never met anyone who went to Georgia's Law School (one of the best in the country) rant on and on about winning Natty's.

sroussie I saw it could go 2 ways. 1. The Big IX commish always have their nose up UT’s ass so the conference wouldn’t do anything without UT approval. 2. The Big IX guy is clearly only referencing OU since OU is the only good Big IX team and OU won’t do anything without Texas.

Even though it hasn't been talked about, it actually was the Sun Belt who came to the SEC first and said that if everyone else wasn't going to play in the fall, they would stick it out with them and play.

@@jakestoope1446 - SEC Shorts, like Saturday Down South and SEC Country before it, is starting to give the AAC respect. A lot has to do with how much top AAC teams have bested top Big XII teams and destroyed ACC let alone PAC-12 teams.
Even LSU fans at the Fiesta Bowl were utterly shocked to find out UCF won the Fiesta Bowl 5 years earlier against the Big XII champ that was ranked higher than Auburn in the Peach, let alone UCF never trailed and was up 7-17 points almost the entire game.
Memphis, Houston (until last year -- hence the 1 loss to the PAC-12) and a few others have been making waves. Especially since Memphis is the best team in the state of Tennessee, and Houston could beat or hang with any Texas team like TCU, until last year of course.
It's really Power-1.5 these days, SEC + half of the Big 10 + Clemson and little else. First it was UCF jokes, now it's AAC jokes.
Representing more than other 'Power' conferences. Under the old BCS, the AAC would re-qualify as an AQ conference, taking back what the Big East lost.
I.e., the AAC in the first 5 years of its inception had 3x as many final AP Top 10 teams than the Big East had in its last 5... let alone more Top 25 teams over the sane period, and higher ranked in many cases.

@@jakestoope1446 - Some Knights don't respect Memphis. I think that's just as arrogant as USF not respecting UCF years ago. USF got a C-USA and then a Big East invite and didn't do jack wuth either. UCF did in both cases (AAC now, no longer Big East), and Memphis has clearly done so in the AAC as well.
I still cannot believe how UCF bested Memphis both at Memphis in 2018 and again in the CCG, both coming from behind. There have been a few others in the past as well. How we drew at Memphis in 2020 to replace UConn is still a mystery, because I know the UCF win streak is going to end sooner or later.

@Ryan Reed that's strange. I seem to remember Alabama losing to Auburn, not making their conference championship game, getting in over a more deserving Ohio State who actually won their conference, and then UCF beating that same Auburn team that Alabama lost to in a bowl game.
