The big downside to this commander is that you could exile one of your wincons when you're not ready to cast them (which you mentioned haha). It would feel bad to exile a underworld breach when you have no wincons in your hand. Outside of that, seems decent, but your absolutey right, it needs a clear wincon and finish the game.
I would say Food Chain, but Loot isn't a payoff for that. The only way to really build around it is Impact Tremors, which can actually help end the game on a different axis if you're playing Kitten, Dockside Curio, or Dockside Sabertooth lines.
That being said, what's normally a 2 card combo is now a 3 card combo. And that's something that generally isn't great in cEDH anymore (The Gitrog Monster is a prime example of this)
He's so cute and I want to build him but everyone I've talked to talks about how bad he is and it's very discouraging.
You can eldritch evolution loot into kiki-jiki
Don't forget secret tech Lignify and Thornbite Staff, as they contain the type Tribal.
@user-dy3uh The card does not say permanent types, it says card types among permanents you control. Theoretically, if you could turn an instant into a permanent, it would count.
I could see it as a hand-hate stax deck, similar how Pako-Haldan can play Omen Machine and Uba Mask.

It would be OP with partners. Pair this with tymna and it is the new best deck I think.
enchantments can be those enchant lands cards for ramp too. so you dont have to rely on mana dorks. and some stax cards (yea yea I know "this is a stax commander" is coping for bad commanders but this is not the case)
mmm speaking of bad ideas. food chain? like you can exile your fooder with this little fella and just let it be exile.
@caterinagerbasi1594 Loot isn't a payoff for Food Chain. So you're making infinite mana but no creatures to cast it with. However, you could slot in Impact Tremors. It's probably way too cute, but if you're already going with Food Chain, then you're probably on some Dockside/Kitten lines as a secondary mana engine, and Tremors could help close out the game in that aspect as well.

@caterinagerbasi1594 lol it's the best I can come up with. Exiling a Squee/Scourge/Misthollow just means that I don't have to spend mana on Extract/Manipulate Fate/Foresight

Im thinking in building it like a red mana-sink deck with kinnan/thrasios cards in it, so its nothing like looking for 2 card combos, but 1 card finishers instead.
Made my deck list, and I decided to add possibility storm and void mirror, making it so your opponents can't cast anything with out randomly attempting to free cast something else and then immediately countering it with mirror
That could be a good approch. Just have a lot of random stuff that locks down players somehow.

I *HATE* Ward, it's literally the worst mechanic. Ward 1 and "Tax 1" are identical mechanics when your opponent understands what the mechanic does and doesn't forget it 99.99+% of the time. But when your opponent forgets what Ward does, then their spell is countered. In contrast, with "Tax 1", their spell is not countered.
A mechanic that loses you the game when you don't remember what it does is a piss poor mechanic. Thalia's Tax > Ward is so obvious from a design perspective that it's embarrassing. It's like they didn't even playtest it. :(
Might be better in the 99 of certain decks. Thras/bruse?
Maybe but I think there are better value engiens.
What do you think of cards that strictly add to the board for “triangle theory”. Cards that just make junk like Hard Evidence, trail of crumbs, welcome to sweettooth. Too cute? Or find playable ones that incidentally do that for the deck.
I know I am arriving a bit late to the party but based on the colors I was thinking about building Loot around Food Chain combos. You got Squee, the Eldrazi and the Griphon that you don’t mind ending up exiled. You only really need Food Chain and then you can use Purphoros, Impact Tremors or the Red Background as the finisher. The colors are not the best for tutoring but you will be seeing a lot of cards.
Edit: I know it is not cEDH level probably but it has a safeguard against the exile downside of Loot’s effect.
What about paradox haze to double the upkeep trigger?
Yeah sure. Yeah I can se it in the deck actully. I mean we are kinda going to focus on the commander so to say.
He gets hit so hard by rule of law cards and controll magic like dranith magistrate. There is potential to run possibility storm as most of your spells are clean to cast.

Yes I have thought about them a bit. I think they are good an d I do think sisay has gotten a lot of boost now.
