Hi, sorry for the late reply. That's great, this video was from 2018 so I haven't added up the prices recently. Great to hear its all still affordable.
I love the variety you manage - so many people seem to cook a couple of meals for the week and just keep repeating them. Funnily enough, they are the families where the children get bored and stop cooperating.
Hi Amy, I love the budget food shops, meal plans and financial advice.I have saved loads by following your advice! Any plans for more budget food shops/ meal plans would be great.
Totally agree with everything. We (family of 4 -- kids are 7 and 9) spend £40/week. And this is with a sweet bake on Sunday, snacks, 1-2 treats/week AND I have money leftover. It is very doable and thank you for this video! :-) I'm now your fan :-)
Gosh I'm amazed by some of you peeps. I spend £100 + a week on food and there are 3 of us. Myself, a veggie and my 2 meat eating children... Aged 9 and 17.....food for my pug, goat and hens is on top of that.
I only buy organic free-range meat as I feel it is important to look after the animal's welfare. So we have less meat and more veg, and more fruit as well for those important vitamins. So my bill each week is more but still manageable.
Hi sis ❤️ I just subscribed to you..i just love this sis...I'm also trying to reduce my expenses..and I'm also doing the minimalistic challenge . God bless you sis.
Hi, thank you. Sorry it's taken me so long but I have just popped over your channel too. Looking forward to posting the minimalist challenge and getting life uncluttered.
So I have to go today shopping with a budget of £25.00 for two weeks worth of food, I am 4stone underweight after financial and domestic abuse, stress and pneumonia, I lost my job after 20 years due to the abuse, I can’t go yellow sticker tea timeish as the bus goes once a day in the morning and I live rurally, I am anaphylactic to nuts , so summing up £25, fattening food , no nuts ,to last two weeks, no foodbank available as I had one last week, so not eligible for one , what am I going to do ? Help . I’m not bothered about tea and coffee I just drink water ,juice or whole milk if I can afford to , I can’t have a foodbank im not eligible I had one last week , any help ideas would be great 👍
Hi there, I'm sorry you are in that situation. Is it just you and do you have anything already in like herbs and spices or pasta? I would suggest a bag of frozen sausages and a pack or 2 of cooking bacon along with some lentils or beans and a big bag of pasta. Eggs, cheese and milk along with a bag of flour and you have the basis for loads of meals. Sorry if I'm overstepping but, if you would like it I have put together a shopping list of basics, veg and meat etc that comes to just under £17 from Tesco with some meal ideas. It should see you through 2 weeks. In your budget that would leave room for some other bits as well. There is an email address on the about page of my channel, please pop me a message if you would like them. Some cheap meal ideas would be soups, pasta bakes, omelettes, toad in the hole. Flour and yoghurt can be used together to make a dough which you can then use for loads of things such as pizzas, flatbreads and even doughnuts. Pasta is very cheap and can go along way and bulking meals out with either lentils or oats is a great way to make them go further. Living on a tight budget like that is hard but can be done, it just takes some thinking about. Take care, Amy
Sorry but silly comment. People have different preferences when it comes to food. I don't buy cheap non brand foods, will buy a few of the finest range..... I won't buy meat for my children from tesco/Asda.... Only butchers. I am not wealthy, but a normal shopper.
Meat and fish alone in Ireland is €20 a week for 100g protein a day a meal 😳 no way get my whole food shop for £25 a week 😳 I feel like I’m good on €50 a week 😂🤷♀️😳
It looks good at first but it wouldn't be for me. It is a very carbohydrate heavy diet and so is lacking in protein and healthy fats, which are especially crucial for children but for adults too. Food shouldn't be so cheap that is lacks in protein and fats.
Thank you for watching. You are right about the healthy fats, my girls are not fans of fish yet but I will keep working on them. So I have to do what I can with what they will eat. I'm sorry to not reply earlier but somehow missed your comment! X
Hmm, I want to save money but this looks unbearably boring. we cook really interesting, complex meals there are two of us and we spend £60 a week so it's not it does cost to eat well.
Yes! I put all this into Tesco and it came to £25.11 I shall be purchasing it all for this week

I spend about 100€ a week for the 5 of us and I thought that is amazing but this. I am trying this next week. Thanks so much!
Hi Amy hope you are okay. Love watching your videos. Just noticed you haven't uploaded for 3 months hope you are well. Take care x

It is quite good for a short term save but extended use would be lacking in nutrients.

Perhaps it's time to get rid of the pets and focus only on the humans. You will save an enormous amount of money believe me. Food for thought.
Thanks!!
Do you have recipes for the cheese bacon pasta and the garlic lemon chicken?
Brilliant!

Yes, agree I am in Ireland and struggle to spend just 50 Euros.
If you get back to north of Ireland you'll have more money 🤑💰💰💵💵💵💵💵💰💰💰💰

This isn't a healthy diet. I wouldn't feed my kids like this.
