There’s something very special about this one that I can’t explain. I thoroughly enjoyed this one! The interaction throughout the podcast between Steve and Chris was very neat to watch as the conversation rolled on. When Chris did Ride On live I got goose bumps and may or may not have teared up a bit. This was an excellent podcast and one I’ll probably listen to again.
Chris is an amazing man. I am so glad we were blessed with his presence on the podcast today. His raw truth telling, sense of humor and talent are so dazzling. Let’s get him some views and buy his music!!!!!
Tony is the man. Been listening to him since his Sporting Dog Talk podcast, and was super psyched to see him becoming more involved in the Meat Eater space. He is a great representative for Midwestern humility and grit.
By far, the best show you guys have put on. I hope the viewers and listeners know what they received today, or should I say, I hope they received what they witnessed. This man’s struggle was a hindrance until he decided it was over. Oh and the music was top notch too. Fantastic duo there.
This was a great Podcast! Glad to finally see a face to the music, really hope Chris gets a second chance with his music! Sounds great! Really hope this helps blow him up!
I’m 67 now .Lost my friend in hunting accident when I was 15 when another friend accidentally shot him squirrel hunting.Instead of going with them I chose to hunt with my father that morning.Changed me forever ,when I got old enough I baca me a hunter safety instructor for 25 years I told that story to my class every year .They always payed attention to that. Then I would tell to enjoy hunting.
I listened to this episode yesterday driving home. Watched it today and totally worth it. Christopher was my favourite listening but after watching, charlotte is super interesting. She l like someone who is insanely modest but still has great accomplishments to come. Her talent is unreal :)
Steve you gained two points for your amazing comments of tribal whaling culture….. you said “why would the tribe need to wait for an answer of formalized permission” (Also shown your amazing knowledge of traditional treaty rights) “why wouldn’t they just said ‘sorry boys but we’re going’ “ Truly you gain more respect from tribal members like myself with these solid concrete statements you made
This is a comment on the kids podcast since the comments for it are turned off. My 5 year old girl loves these. Im not sure if she always follows the first portions but she still enjoys them and we started repeat listening when we ran out of new ones. Thanks and keep the coming
Best of luck to Chris! Will be a great story of redemption. Just went and downloaded everything song and will keep following. Plan to donate to kickstarter.
I have been married to a Colombian for 15 years and barely speak any Spanish. Thankfully, our daughter is fluent in both languages and is my personal translator when we go visit family in Colombia.
I was convinced that the song at the end of the podcast was performed by an 80 year old woman. 10000% sure it was an old lady dying into a microphone. Wow
I feel like i want to watch this but i also want to save it for the road trip to September. All the older podcasts i never know if i want to losten because the titles are crazy
I was actually thinking of a duck hunt for my first hunt. Would you suggest the a better first hunting experiance? Currently I fish with a rod and reel but just ordered a bow to bowfish. Any suggestings would help, thank you in advance.
I get a real kick outta hearing these cast each week. I watch some of it to get visuals like the guitar parts. For some reason I don’t know who Chilly is. Steve you’re a smart man. Thank you
Have you guys heard of those Australian feral mega-cats? Literally, feral house cats in Australia have been wild for so long they've evolved into Bobcat-level predators and extremely invasive.
Yeah they're part of the landscape now. Like dingos were dogs the aborigines brought . Nature will balance it in a few 1000 years . Also rabbits, camels, pigs, cane toads.
Well, hell. I wrote an awe-inspiring essay in these comments, pertaining to access and pressure in hunting, the likes of which had never been penned in the English language. Then, I finished the podcast. And I'll be damned, if in the end, I didn't find Chris's story and musical importance towering over my well thought RUclips dissertation. So I deleted my contender for Berkley's Creative Writing program, or "pr-oh-grim", as my grandmother would say. I have officially acquired the taste for his voice and I am embarrassed to have not acquired it sooner.
The artist “Pink” also said that studio’s asked her to sing differently and she refused (thank God). I think she said they were looking for a Brittany Spears type. Nervy.
Keeps getting better, think this is better than getting charged my a moose. Glad you're made it through that hunt. But really this was a special episode.
There is an absolute truth and link to emotional growth stopping when you become an alcoholic. On a different note, it's a shame to see the cast act like this guy is a black sheep type person from the start. Show some fucking respect to people that have lived more than one life in this one.
I didn't think they were showing him disrespect at all. They just listened quietly when he was talking serious stuff and laughed a lot at his funny comments. Maybe I'm wrong, but I felt like there was nothing but respect and happiness for him and her overcoming the struggles.
I’ve been more and more liking the bluegrass tunes as i get older. Shame i spent so much of my life listening to ska. Jk it’s all good. Life’s too short to limit yourself to one genre of music.
I doubt they were recreating anything just trying to see what their ancestors might have experienced. The tool used was probably chosen to mitigate risk of spoilage and prolonged death.
After claiming top spot AND now listening to the whole podcast. Wow what a great episode so full of life experiences and great advice to younger listeners.

Man his performance of Ride On in this episode is the best version I have heard him do. Outstanding!
Charlotte.... You kicked ass on that fiddle!
Phil nailed the audio! A true top tier producer.
Chris is an amazing man. I am so glad we were blessed with his presence on the podcast today. His raw truth telling, sense of humor and talent are so dazzling. Let’s get him some views and buy his music!!!!!
I couldn’t agree more!
Bro is humble and getting life back on track. New follower on Spotify by me but I'll be keeping up with this feller.
Started researching the JT Van Zandt & Sturgill connection and learned that JT is the son of Townes. This is why I love this podcast.
Tony is the man. Been listening to him since his Sporting Dog Talk podcast, and was super psyched to see him becoming more involved in the Meat Eater space. He is a great representative for Midwestern humility and grit.
One of the best episodes yet for sure. Amazing performance.
By far, the best show you guys have put on. I hope the viewers and listeners know what they received today, or should I say, I hope they received what they witnessed.
This man’s struggle was a hindrance until he decided it was over.
Oh and the music was top notch too. Fantastic duo there.
Started out thinking I would not enjoy this episode. Ended up being one of my favorite. Good luck to Chris & Charlotte!

as a fellow Native American i whole heartedly agree.
As a not even close to being a native American. I wouldn't blame y'all a bit for going ahead and doing what is your right to do.
No reason to ask for permission but it does show respect for something that could be highly criticized.
Love Tony P. Great attitude and approach to hunting.
This is a comment on the kids podcast since the comments for it are turned off. My 5 year old girl loves these. Im not sure if she always follows the first portions but she still enjoys them and we started repeat listening when we ran out of new ones. Thanks and keep the coming
I’m not even a kid and I enjoy them so they must be doing something right
Very Humbling talk with this fella.
Wow!! Christopher is amazing and funny. Thank you for making time to do this podcast
Bringing that musician on was beautiful
Best of luck to Chris! Will be a great story of redemption. Just went and downloaded everything song and will keep following. Plan to donate to kickstarter.
Man,,, This brought tears to my eyes. Awesome just awesome. Love you guys..........
That fiddle playing was awesome. Great to see those two jamming
You put things so beautifully I am overwhelmed listening to you
Glad we finally addressed Steve's huge hands, Charlotte seemed to notice... 27:33
Ok definitely thought that dead horse song was an ol’lady 😂
100% me too and even after watching this it's still stuck in my head lol
By far my favorite episode
@MeatEater you guys should link his kickstarter and information in the description 👍
I have been married to a Colombian for 15 years and barely speak any Spanish. Thankfully, our daughter is fluent in both languages and is my personal translator when we go visit family in Colombia.
Charlotte looks thrilled
I think she is just freezing cold by the looks of it haha
The arms crossed said it all.
Lol
Haha that’s all I could think of when the camera shifted to that side of the table.
I live for these episodes. I've watched so many lol
Great episode. Chris is a true gem. Really enjoyed watching this and hearing his story.
Charlotte seems to hate being there 😂

Was listening on Spotify and came over to see the Koe guitar.
Denny sounds like he is 68 on audio only…
I was actually thinking of a duck hunt for my first hunt. Would you suggest the a better first hunting experiance? Currently I fish with a rod and reel but just ordered a bow to bowfish. Any suggestings would help, thank you in advance.
Just pick what you fancy, and go with someone who knows what they’re doing.
Safety has many layers. It is very important but if placed first, you won't ever go.
I get a real kick outta hearing these cast each week. I watch some of it to get visuals like the guitar parts. For some reason I don’t know who Chilly is. Steve you’re a smart man. Thank you
Chilly summoning the Lost Dog Street Band
Yesss let's get Benjamin and Ashley on!!
Really beautiful. That was really great man
1980 Carol Beach Wisc. My dad was pheasant hunting with his best friend. His best friend killed him. Should I continue the story?
Have you guys heard of those Australian feral mega-cats? Literally, feral house cats in Australia have been wild for so long they've evolved into Bobcat-level predators and extremely invasive.
The are 3 types around the world that were ferel to wild
Yeah they're part of the landscape now. Like dingos were dogs the aborigines brought . Nature will balance it in a few 1000 years . Also rabbits, camels, pigs, cane toads.

JT from Das Boat? 😅 amazing
That Mitch Hedberg reference though...
Oh man, can't believe I missed it lol. Time stamp?
A Gibson for a franchi. Son, you got what you deserved on that trade 😂. A grand doesn’t get you much in the guitar world.
Try New hampshire or Massachusetts there is a reason why there are no hunting shows based of of these northeastern states
The artist “Pink” also said that studio’s asked her to sing differently and she refused (thank God). I think she said they were looking for a Brittany Spears type. Nervy.
great podcast!!!! Funny Dude! Great Artist!
How Fantastic 👍 Chris And Charlotte Love His Voice And Music And Love The Fiddle Charlotte 👍 Awesome Instrumental 🎻🎸🎶🎵🎶
The macaw we're supposed to do it traditionally. They ended up in a motorboat with a 50 cal
Chris is a kind old soul. Loved this
I like this guest
I see we are back to randomly naming podcast.
The name is literally the song that is featured every episode, and the guy who wrote it is the guest. I'd say that's everything BUT random
I thought it was funny Randall 😁
This is a weird podcast for this genre. I don't dislike it? Just different.
Keeps getting better, think this is better than getting charged my a moose. Glad you're made it through that hunt. But really this was a special episode.

Not just alcohol, I have seen it with marijuana and even laziness before.
I didn't think they were showing him disrespect at all. They just listened quietly when he was talking serious stuff and laughed a lot at his funny comments.

Great episode!
Charlotte DOES NOT look happy to be there at all.
Dude what. I listened to this on Spotify and was still convinced this was an 80 year old transgender woman and I was horribly confused.
He sounds like he's talking through a fan...
Hahaha yup!
Young Herbert off family guy!!!, LoL
Great show.
This episode was linger fickin good!
I don't comment much but damn it he better have married that girl
I heard Trump was in a helicopter with Steve. Amazing story.
If you watch, some hold back disgust.
Wow I had no idea an honestly thought the song was sung by a woman. I enjoyed the story and appreciate his music beyond what I did before!
You guys lost me on this one. They used a 50 bmg. Nit exactly historically accurate
I doubt they were recreating anything just trying to see what their ancestors might have experienced. The tool used was probably chosen to mitigate risk of spoilage and prolonged death.
@Eric-dr5bj it was for sure. I just dont think they really experienced it. I'm overly critical for sure as a traditional hunter lol
I though he was an old woman the whole time
Cal doesn’t get invited because he’s creepy “Right “
Like this if you also thought it was Chili and not Chilly
Why would you beat off a dead horse
If you were a member of congress? TBF, that’s probably a bit tame for some of them.
why not?
Great to hear from Chris.
Also Koe is a douche. Pretty good music but not someone I’d ever want to hang with.
What makes you say that? I've not heard anything about Koe
First comment
And what a weak one it was
@@WildSideOfLifeYT The replies haven't done much to save it... but at least we're doing our part to stick to the topic.
After claiming top spot AND now listening to the whole podcast. Wow what a great episode so full of life experiences and great advice to younger listeners.
@JohnCantu-yt9mt 😂😂😂 honestly I commend you, you came back around and fortified your position. I'm just finishing up the episode too
