3 years! Is that ALL she got disqualified for? ? Thats disgusting! How could anyone EVER let a horse get in this state and not do anything about it? I would never ever have thought this was done by a young, 'professional' person! She should never be allowed near a horse again!
When oh when will the perpetrators of these heinous crimes be punished, yes punished not slapped on the wrist. Banned for 3 years? They should be imprisoned and banned for life from keeping or being around any animals. What a sorry state of affairs. I am happy to be a WHW barn sponsor and just hope for more supporters of this essential organization.
Headcollars (halters) should never be left on 24/7, and never on horses in their stalls or at grass. They can get caught on so many things, including themselves. A foal's halter should be checked frequently, as they grow so quickly. This was inexcusable!!!
THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T PUT HALTERS ON BABIES! They grow so fast, and while most people would be smart enough to keep an eye on it and change the halter when it gets too small, why would a foal this small need a halter? It serves no function! The baby will be following mommy for quite a while so no need to lead him independently, and to the idiots saying he needs to get used to it, no he doesn't! Not yet! He's having a hard time figuring out how to be horse, no need to mess with the human stuff yet. You have plenty of time for that when he's older.
KaregoAt because usually you take it off like when they go into their box or if they are going to run around on the feild im just happy that star is so much better now!
The person guilty of doing this only got three years of no horse ownership? Should of been a lifelong ban! Happy to see she is healed up now and has a wonderful new owner!
An absolute crime. But what a beautiful kind pony he's turned out to be. I wish I was closer than Australia so I could adopt him! Well done to all involved in his rescue and good luck.
The colt's transformation is absolutely amazing! It made me smile that he has come so far. It surprises me how he even lets people put a halter on him! Beautiful boy!
That is one of the most horrendous wounds ever, who could be that cruel, dreadful being. Thanks for sharing and treating Star with kindness and love. God bless you.
Here we are in 2022. I sincerely hope that Star is still doing well and is receiving all the love and care he deserves. A lovely pony with a delightful caregiver.
Oh I am so so glad Star has a happy ending!! I re-homed a non ridden companion pony from world horse welfare to accompany my mare and it was the best choice I ever made! :)
How shocking. So happy he's fine. Some bozos actually do that to cats too. They put a collar on them as kittens and do not loosen the collar as the cat grows. There are some braindead humans out there. That cruel human who abused the horse needs to be named and shamed and jailed!!!
amazing recovery!!! I have a stallion whos halter was grown into his jaw as well. he got his halter when he was a yearling. I found him, when he was 2 years old. the people told me, that they never tuched him again, after they got him and he was in a bad condition - well fed, but horrible behaviour, wild, scared... what you foal had to endure is unbelievable. You did an amazing job!
The first chance I get, i'm going to help you all; volunteer or loving home, whichever comes first. It's such a shame that Star had to go through what he did, but he's still beautiful and a lovely shade of Dun.
Thank you, thank you!! Can't believe they did not get a life ban from owning horses!? To be a so called "horse professional" and *see that each day, slowly getting progressively worse to that point,* and think to ones self... "Meh, can't be bothered to try and catch him today, to take it off". Dispicable!! Professional or not, that is someone who simply DOES NOT CARE AT ALL about extreme suffering of an animal (any animal). If you knew nothing about horses and couldn't catch the foal... even a idiot would surely ask someone - anyone - for help.
It just looks so very painful just looking at the state that Star was i can't even imagine how painful that must have been. I am just really happy star gets a new start!
Your organization is the best in the world. Never get tired watching the video's , listening to the stories, the recoveries, and the love you give to these totally helpless beings. Thank you so much!
Thank You for saving all this "Precious" Horses from humans that have NO empathy,Hope this human does Not have Star's Mom anymore or any precious critter around them,Thank U for all the Love & care U give
beautiful foal I love Star no matter the scars as it shows how strong the beautiful foal is these scars show me star has strong inner strength she truely is a star
Wow!! Star is absolutely adorable 😍 such a cute colouration and it’s amazing that he healed like that 😍😍 sad that he had to go through that but happy he recovered ☺️
In the video, Star was so gentle and kind. How could this evil person leave a halter on a gentle easy to handle foal so long that it caused such a grotesque wound? She either had to be deaf, ignorant and blind or doing drugs. Thank you to All the people who helped Star snd and found his forever home. God Bless.
A professional groom? Bull. Noone that handles horses that much, especially a freaking GROOM would let that happen to a foal, especially letting it get that bad. I hope she never gets work again, because there's no excuse.
Oh my gosh😰😢😳poor Stare🌟 Why do humans do this...💔 It's really of no words really the harm this women new she was doing!😳to this innocent baby' Clearly Stare is such a wonderful spirit!✨💖wow An so loving.... See how forgiving they are! Well done saving Stare🌟✨👍😁 Well done truly✨
Thank God for organizations like World Horse Welfare and other similar groups. I cannot for the life of me understand how people can be so callous towards these beautiful animals.
How can people be so cruel that’s all I can say these videos make my cry and mad but when I see their new life it’s makes me happy but to think someone could be so cruel is sickening
Thank you for saving Star. I have seen a PVC (plastic coated webbing) embedded in a foal some 40 years ago, truly shocking, it was a wonder he could feed and not get tetnus from the wound. I saved a horse from the meat works which had the same scar from growing into a halter. People should have a license to own a horse
Sadly this is a scene I have witnessed too many times when working for the rescue service. Where these people's brains are Lord knows. I wish I could say only with people lacking in knowledge this is not the case. A new pair of shoes new car etc seems more important than a new halter disgusting. All I can say is if you are on a yard or witness to cruelty please come forward. Without you as witnesses it is impossible to trial these people. It should be like for like an far as I'm concerned but again sadly it's not. A big hug & thanks to all who do such a heartbreaking yet uplifting job of saving these poor friends from those who value their friendship so little. Keep strong & continue the wonderful work well done. X heather blakeway.
That is absolutely RIDICULOUS! it upsets me knowing that there are animals suffering like this young foul! i don't get how people enjoy watching animals get hurt. he is such a beautiful horse now that his cuts are healed and i hope he has a lovely life in the future
3 years! Is that ALL she got disqualified for? ? Thats disgusting! How could anyone EVER let a horse get in this state and not do anything about it? I would never ever have thought this was done by a young, 'professional' person! She should never be allowed near a horse again!
Agree 100% !

Douglas Griffiths that's true but I keep a halter on my boy spearmint because he isn't the best for catching
Douglas Griffiths noooooo it's okay to leve a halter on a horse 24/7
Oh god, I'm literally in tears here. The pain Star must have been in..... unimaginable!
THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T PUT HALTERS ON BABIES!

Anna Danielson Exactly, the neglect and just the lack of interest in the foal's well being is disgusting.
KaregoAt because usually you take it off like when they go into their box or if they are going to run around on the feild
im just happy that star is so much better now!
+Jenny Kuhlin I do that!
Jenny Kuhlin That's good! I don't like seeing horses loose or unsupervised with halters on, it can easily lead to accidents.
I hate people that can watch an animal suffer and do absolutely nothing about it. Thank y’all for taking over and helping so many horses ❤️
The person guilty of doing this only got three years of no horse ownership? Should of been a lifelong ban! Happy to see she is healed up now and has a wonderful new owner!
Only a disqualification??!!! She should have gone to jail.
The beginning broke my heart. Man...that's horrible. Why would people do this to an animal?
That foal is beautiful
1:52 what a sweet face. I can’t believe that this was the result of a “professional groom”. Glad Star is doing well
That is one of the most horrendous wounds ever, who could be that cruel, dreadful being. Thanks for sharing and treating Star with kindness and love. God bless you.
How these people do love horses. You can feel it and
see it in all their gestures.
Here we are in 2022. I sincerely hope that Star is still doing well and is receiving all the love and care he deserves. A lovely pony with a delightful caregiver.
OMG the halter at 0:19 is just HEARTBREAKING! No horse should have to go through that! D:
Oh I am so so glad Star has a happy ending!! I re-homed a non ridden companion pony from world horse welfare to accompany my mare and it was the best choice I ever made! :)
Poor little baby. It must have been terribly painful.
This is unbelievable it's so sad Star had to go through such a hard child hood but I'm so glad he has a lovely home
How shocking. So happy he's fine. Some bozos actually do that to cats too. They put a collar on them
as kittens and do not loosen the collar as the cat grows. There are some braindead humans out there.

How dreadful. Clearly suffering ignored by... May God have mercy on your heartless soul.

Witnessing that beautiful creature have its dignity and health restored is very heart warming . .that nose injury is painful to watch . .
World Horse Welfare thank you for all you have done for alll the horses you found captive in not good places
The first chance I get, i'm going to help you all; volunteer or loving home, whichever comes first. It's such a shame that Star had to go through what he did, but he's still beautiful and a lovely shade of Dun.

Such a gorgeous baby too. I’m glad she was able to recover
Your organization is the best in the world. Never get tired watching the video's , listening to the stories, the recoveries, and the love you give to these totally helpless beings. Thank you so much!
Thank you for saving this beautiful creature.
That has healed incredibly well.
OH MY GOD a professional groom should know better and never be allowed to work with horses again
aww lovely that they can visit him
This is proof that good can triumph over evil. God bless you guys......
Thank You for saving all this "Precious" Horses from humans that have NO empathy,Hope this human does Not have Star's Mom anymore or any precious critter around them,Thank U for all the Love & care U give
Thank god for people like you all over the world who rescue and care for all animals. People can be so cruel.

He’s such a gorgeous horse. Well behaved, too. Thank you!!
beautiful foal
I love Star no matter the scars as it shows how strong the beautiful foal is
these scars show me star has strong inner strength
she truely is a star
oh my God, that is horrible! 3 years disqualification is not nearly enough for the suffering she caused that poor baby!
Very well done! What a great outcome for this lucky goal. Thank you for sharing.
🐴😷👍
When I am older I will get a farm so I can adopt all of them
Bravo to all your help...
I gasped when I saw that first pictures of Star with the halter. I cannot imagine the pain he was in. I am so glad he is doing well!!
Wow!! Star is absolutely adorable 😍 such a cute colouration and it’s amazing that he healed like that 😍😍 sad that he had to go through that but happy he recovered ☺️
Cutest lil baby 🥺
Poor baby :( Both the foal and the mare are extraordinary beautiful horses and seem to be very sweet
This looks absolutely horrific. Imagine the pain & pressure that caused. Poor little thing.

The abuser should have also received jail and community service. I hope this goes on her permanent record. Absolutely inexcusable.
Iv donate a small fee every month for three yrs so pleased with the work the welfare carry out xx
Thank God for organizations like World Horse Welfare and other similar groups. I cannot for the life of me understand how people can be so callous towards these beautiful animals.
How can people be so cruel that’s all I can say these videos make my cry and mad but when I see their new life it’s makes me happy but to think someone could be so cruel is sickening
omg what, this horse looks exactly like one I am loaning the moment, he's also 4 years old
That's disgusting that poor foal whoever did this deserves to get jail time
