Thank you, I feel confident that the next surgery to remove the hardware will be a good thing and I will keep you posted! Good luck with your recovery and 9 weeks is still early days so take it easy. 🙏🏼
@anklefusiongirl before my ankle fusion (for a collapsing ankle) I used a tayco brace ... Mine was off the shelf but you can get custom fitted ones. I was shocked at how well it worked. I wore mine for approximately 6 months before the surgery and pain was never more than a 2 out of 10, half the time 0 pain. Something you may want to look into for later.
Thanks for your comments, I have just watched some of your videos and it’s great to hear how active you are. I love mountain biking and I can’t wait to be nailing those lines again in 2025!
@ mountain bike has been my saviour over the years. There have been times I have driven to trails and my ankle is throbbing but I ride anyway and the throbbing is gone. Riding definitely helps it. You will be out there in no time!
Hi love, I’m in the same position as you are right now I can barely walk. I had my surgery in March. I go see the orthopedic surgeon and a couple weeks for another CT x-rays. They were talking about a month ago maybe take out the hardware I appreciate your help me out a lot. God bless you, love
@MarkGlover - the CT scan is essential because the x-ray showed the bone was fusing but it was the CT scan that showed the screws have moved into another joint/cartilage which explains the pain. Hopefully hardware removal will be the answer. It’s been a long and frustrating year!
Good Luck. I have been watching your videos and routing for you. I am in week nine of my Ankle fusion and just starting partial weight bearing now.

I wish you the best with this. I am 20 odd years post fusion and had a similar setback myself which required removal of hardware.
