That would be dope he did find a better battery pack. Now that would be crazy!😅

Used to work on the body assembly line at McLaren in Woking and the rear sub frame was measured onto the car. Re-bolting the car back on will be interesting as the rear suspension fixing points were all measured to +- 1mm. So much gets bolted onto something else on the rear sub frame so needs to be exact for reassembly of the whole back end.

Hey Freddie, at first I was a little disappointed that the hybrid system had to go, but after watching Rich's video on the logistics of the P1's hybrid tech and what it would take to get the system working even as well as it did from the factory. I agree that it makes no sense to do anything with the hybrid system besides take it out and save the weight. If there's anything I could suggest, it's to use the IPAS button on the wheel to instead stand for "Insanely Powerful Anti-lag System", if you catch my drift. I hope more people go and watch Rich's video on everything because his explanation clarified so much about the P1. Can't wait for the next part to come out!

I don’t know much about anything close to these guys on this car or any car for that matter, just that it looks cool and sounds sick asf lol. But having watched tavarish since the pimp my ride car I’ve seen him make a lot of decisions he regretted and on the other side is happy in. So I trust that this was the best decision and doesn’t change my interest in this build. I mean the main goal was to get the P1 running again and if he can in some cases better. Some of you guys seemed to set a self expectation of him restoring it OEM condition? That was never possible in the first place nor was he going to do that lol. And some people that are well knowledgeable in this argue removing the hybrid does make the car preform better so not really much of a loss so don’t see the big hoorah and hive mind thinking in this comment section.

If it's remove the hybrid, or the car never runs again, then fully support removing the hybrid system. If it's a race to get it done for SEMA, eh, rather see the hybrid stay. Either way, a very cool project.

No my guess is lack of money (because he under estimated the damage\costs) or lack of time because he is committed to some company to SEMA.

Its not that he doesn't want to do the challenges, think about it financially, a new system is around 160k, and if you watch rich rebuilds video regarding this, you would realize that compared to todays standards on modern technology, the hybrid system isnt really good. It'll only give a small boost of 170hp for a time that depends on how long a button is pressed and how long the battery is charged, making it not really efficient. It also added weight which is another reason why he made this decision

I understand why youre making the choice.......but what made the P1 special was the hybrid system. When it came out, that was something everyone praised and alongside the La Ferrari (Ferrari The Ferrari) and the 918 really changed the hypercar market and standards of speed. Its absolutely your car and your build, I just feel like youre missing out on a really big component that makes the P1 a P1 and made it special.
Edit: Also the weight and balance of the car might be significantly off. Might be worth putting something in that gap jut as heavy to keep a bit of that balance if you plan on taking it to the track.

Of course it's his car, he can do hat he wants with it. When he talks about how he wants it to be faster then all other P1's and wants to make the "best version of the P1", and then does something like this, removing a crucial part of what makes it a P1, people's reactions are 120% valid. Everyone feels this way because of the expectations he set. This just doesn't feel good. I hope the project goes well still, and I can't wait to see how it turns out, but calling it a P1 still after removing the Hybrid system just isn't going to be true anymore.

All of the people that are crapping on Freddie’s decision are ridiculous. Yes we all enjoy watching his videos. But him removing the hybrid system is not a reason for anyone to unsubscribe or run him down. Did any of you spend over 600k on the flooded p1? Ummm NO. So this is Freddie’s decision. Not any of yours. The fact that he is removing it will make his P1 all that more unique given that it will be the only one without it. Also I am sure he either has thought of, or is coming up with, a way to make it have more power than it did originally. Now with that rant out of the way I want to say keep up the great work Freddy. I look forward to seeing your finished product. Just ignore the haters and keep doing whatever you want to with your car. That is what makes your builds unique. Not keeping the cars stock.

Yep this is kind of a miss. The hybrid system wasn’t put in the car for power. It was to fill in for the turbo during lag. The EV mode was a gimmick but the KERS/IPAS system is what made the car a P1 and not just a 650s

I'm confused about the washing part though, or rather, why you didn't disassemble the entire car before you washed the tub? Would've thought after removing the doors and the front frame, it would've been easier to maneuver the tub so that it wouldn't become a bath, but rather more easily drain out all the sand and other gunk (for example in the intakes)?
Looking forward to checking out the next part!

I've got to aree with the majority here, I cant pretend ive not lost quite a bit of interest now the hybrid system is what makes the P1 the P1, its not so much about the resale value - its more about the value of the content and its interest to me, and thus its value to you.

Both on the road and on track, the hybrid system makes the car faster and more driveable. Without it, the car just turns laggy, spiky and vicious. Even McLaren with all their expertise in tuning and throttle mapping couldn't make the Senna (which is basically a P1 with the hybrid delete and hit with an ugly stick option boxes ticked) faster or better to drive than P1 despite being lighter.
