You are an excellent detailer. You vaccum and clean interiors like no other detailer I have seen here on youtube so far. Most detailer are fine with leaving some dust particles and clean it to just 90%. But you give 100 % always! Thanks for sharing these great tips and keep up the good work!
This was a huge help as I’m a month into detailing and I practice on my own vehicle and did the trunk of my car and I ran into this. Everyone says compressed air but the brush and repeat seems to be working. Thank you! Now I know what do when I see this with a customer.
So satisfying to watch I started mine today and I realized that without the right tools it’s very frustrating. I’ll get that extension for my shop vac and the brush that goes on the drill before I touch it again… Thanks for the advices
Came here to say the bissel attachment you recommended has saved me tons of time, works really well for the little bits of stone and dirt stuck in course carpets! Thank you so much for sharing these tips with the detailer community!
It is comforting to hear that I am not the only one who reaches a point where you have to tell yourself "it is not my fault they have neglected these carpets and there is more dirt than can be removed in a reasonable time and cost." It is easy to feel like a hack when you see those perfect carpets on instagram with not a speck of dirt. but what they don't tell you is how long they spent, how much they charged, and if it was even a profitable job. I find on these carpets, which seems to be most nowadays, you reach a point where the carpets looks 80% better to me, but if keep brushing then more dirt comes out. So the key is to get it to look as good as possible and not over brush because you will just pull more dirt up. It is amazing how much dust, sand, and debris these thin carpets have in them. I've learned from watching professional carpet cleaners on RUclips you cannot remove 100% of soil from any carpet.
Exactly! Social media definitely shows the “best” possible outcome and they don’t show the reality of actually detailing nasty daily drivers. Even the disaster detail videos I can tell are either staged or they spent way to long for it to be profitable because they will make the money on RUclips instead. So those unrealistic videos can really mess with the real detailers doing this full time as a true business. Oh well, keep doing what you’re doing man!😎👍🏼
The interior takes forever!! I will try and use some of your tips because i just started Mobile detailing. I mean my customers love my interior cleaning but damn lol took me forever
I found the same issue the first time I used the toilet brush, it destroyed the interior I just got spotless. Ever since then I use the toilet brush in corners or nasty looking stains before any other interior cleaning, then I also work top down and don’t use the toilet brush again.
On your Capri, I could be wrong but I believe it’s a second possible inlet. They work well in assembly line settings hanging from a retracting cable with a coil hose coming in from the top. Workers can then pull the air nozzle down from slightly overhead, use it, then they release it and it automatically goes back up out of their way.
Hey there, loving the channel si far! I know this is an older video, but I have a question. What advice would you give for getting dead grass out of interior carpet? I did a honda pilot for a lawn care guy and it just WOULD NOT come out of the carpet.
I just had one of those moments w a customers seats. They were terribly stained and it was that crappy light tan from 2014 corolla. She was blown away cause I got years of stains out 97% gone but all I could see is some of the reminiscing water spots or set in stains. Tipped me HUGE!! I wish I could attach a pic
Ik this was a year ago but recently cleaned a Toyota Camry with the tan seats gosh , I failed man I mean they looked better but the stains were also really bad
Did a detail of a Nissan Aramada which doesn’t have the best carpet. Told the customer beforehand that the carpet is difficult to get everything up, but assured her that I could get 95% of the dirt up. Finished the detail with a few specks of dirt and she was very annoyed. Was also offended that I told her the carpet in her car wasn’t great. She didn’t hire me back but I’m okay with it cause she was very annoying!
Hi. Wow! Well its awesome that you communicated well and did an awesome job! But yeah , black list them and move on to better people who appreciate the work! Thanks for sharing!
Hi. I love using the long vac nozzles for that, also using an air compressor with a long tip blow gun will blow out any particles and junk between the seats. As far as preventing things from falling in between I guess you could get one of these amzn.to/3tFK3Cl
Do shop vacs have pros or would Dyson's do just as well for weekend cleanings? Outside of the water/wet cleanup side of things. Thank you for the high quality b roll!
I've always geard rubber squeegies work awesome for dog hair! Horror story Thursday severe storms came through our area. Friday it's clear and sunny so my family are driving with the moonroof open and while I'm driving under a tree a big branch breaks apart falling on top of my car! I still haven't got all the debris out. Somehow some got in between my back glass and the break light! Talk about feeling cursed!
So I could use this on getting dog hair out of my car interior. I have a German Shepherd that sheds like crazy despite my bridging him daily. I vacuum almost daily but that fur in next to impossible to get out of carpet. I use covers for the back and seats to protect as much as possible but that fur finds underdog a place to pile up. I've tried rollers, brushes.. Just frustrated
Awesome video as always Phil. Your channel is seriously my favorite. I also have question as I'm trying to get started on detailing. I did some research on Reddit about the California Air Tool 5510SE. Do you think that is enough PSI or high enough gallon to start off?
Thanks! I would say 8+gallons and 125-150psi would be the best to start off with in my opinion, if you have room for it and the budget go 20 gallon. It’s great if you have tons of volume to work with.
You only have 3.4K subscribers? GTFO. These kinds of videos deserve more. This whole time I was just assuming you had at least a few tens of thousands.

Hey Phil, just curious on your thoughts about the drill brush. I use it in conjunction with the air compressor a lot and it seems to do a pretty good job or getting the particles out of the carpet. I also find that it excels in the back cargo are of a vehicle like a Subaru or a large suv. Any thoughts?
Hi. Yeah I will use the drill brush if I really need to in those areas also. It’s more of a last resort though, since it can flick up so much. But it does work really well. Thanks for sharing!🤦🏻♂️👍🏼

Ohh another thing I learned from sporties. If you use that drill brush the actual circle brush and then steam the carpets. Awww man it was perfect
If I owned one of these vehicles I would replace the carpet with a nice area rug. Thanks Phil for another informative video.

I found interesting attachment on etsy, pumice stone vacuum attachment. What do you think of that?
Really? Do you have a link for it?
My Subaru cross trek is insane!! Cheap assed carpet.
Bloody great video !
What are you spraying on the carpet ? Thanks
Hi. I forgot what exactly the product was, but it was a citrus based APC most likely.
@@MirandaDetailing Thank you 😊👍 I'm going to start a mobile detailing business here in Australia. Learning a lot from your great videos. 👍
I would love to see you review the tornador volisity vac attachment
Yeah I was talking to a fellow detailer about it and it dIdn’t sound that great.
What type of brush do u use on the carpet? Brushes firmness etc when rubbing over the carpet?
We use brushes like this. choice whichever one you need depending pn the carpet you are dealing with. amzn.to/3buLFKc
@@MirandaDetailing we get a lot of long furry carpet and short haired carpet in cars will that brush work on fluffy and short haired carpet?
There are two different types of brushes so you get different brushes to use in different carpets.
