as always, I can never get enough of you and your himmy rides. I take my MSF course mid march and I plan on getting myself a 2023 himmy as well. It's such a gorgeous motorcycle despite being as spartan and utilitarian as it is. I hope to get a pine green himmy but none of the dealerships near me carry one, maybe i'll just buy replacement parts with the pine green parts and install them.
Thanks mate, I am glad you are enjoying the series. Awesome you're getting a bike. Don't rush to concord the gnarliest mountains, enjoy the process of learn, there are so many fun small wins along the way.
Hi Joe, thanks for sharing another trip. Great video, really enjoyed it as usual. Well done on getting another motorcyclist into Australia and down to Tassie!! 👍🇦🇺
Thanks for another great video, I was recently in Bathurst and drove the race track, quite an eye opener and a lot of fun. Another good source for tracks is the G.O.A.T, great oz adventure trail, check it out for future rides. Thanks for the vids.
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing the website source it is greatly appreciated, I've had a quick look already and it looks like there are a lot of tracks to explore on there .
Hi Joe Thanks for another great video I took your advise and downloaded "Gaia" Maps and made up a track in the Southern Flinders ranges It took us to this area that no one had been for a long time. Lots of big Billy Goats, Kangaroos and Emu"s The thing that impressed me about the "Gaia" maps was its accuracy the track was very hard to see because it was overgrown and we lost it. So we looked closley at the map and just rode untill we where on top of it and picked up the tarck again Very Impressive !
Great video. I have riding my Himalayan in the desert for the first time in Arizona in the U.S. I normally ride in the forest. I had no idea how beautiful the desert would be.
Another brilliant video Joe with a bit of everything thrown in including some dismal weather just like over here in a miserable Uk with near sub zero temperatures and rain 🌧️🥶so it’s nice to get some arm chair adventures in with you Joe 👍
thanks mate, I am glad you enjoyed it. Luckily it wasn't sub zero here, it was about 25°C so I didn't have to deal with the cold on top of the rain and fog.
Nice ride Joe! I really enjoy your narration, and that adds to my learnings. Our World is so amazing when you meet people from so far away. To know you on RUclips is fantastic. That's the benefits of Motorcycle Adventures. Great work as usual! 👍🙂
Apart from the Nurburgring the only other track I can think of that you can ride on a bike is the Isle of Man T.T. course. I never have ridden there , but maybe one day. Great episode Joe.
It is many years since I've been to Bathurst (there is a street there named after my family!) and Hill End (no "s"). Sofala is interesting too. Great country as usual. Thanks.
That's cool family history there. Yes awesome area to ride through. I worked that out when I got to Hill End at the end of the track (in the next episode) when I read the sign of the towns name, it was my dyslexia kicking in, for some reason my brain thinks it should have a "s" on the end 😂.
Hey there, Joe, well, another great video, one little bit of information that I have done with my tent. Every time I am gone on these long trips I will fill up my bathtub with warm water and put the whole skin in the tub and let it soak for a while, then hang it out and then set the tent up as though I am camping to let it air dry in the sun, seems to work really well, anyway, I love where you’re riding as I always do, such an awesome country hang in there and look forward to your next, as I always do, Rob from the US
Thanks mate, I am glad you are still enjoying the series. I did something similar with the tent, I put it in a big tub in hot water left it sit for over 24 hours, let it dry etc.... I have done it a few times after trip, maybe I just didn't do it straight away after the first long ones. I first used it when on foot on the Lake Tahoe Rim trail in California then the PCT. Anyway still works fine, just a new shade of brown, we'll call it character😂
One of your best videos yet enjoy those old back roads with the history that you include and the wildlife and of course the character of that long stroke air cooled Himalayan

So, what was your lap time on the track? I'll bet it was blistering! 🤣 Not exactly what our bikes are built for, but at least they’re brilliant on roads like the Bridal Track, what a beautiful area! 😂 well blistering could be one way to describe the lap😂 I probably didn't quite reach the 300kmph speeds the race cars do down the back straight. Yes it is a stunning area to ride and camp and yes definitely worth coming to explore.
Wow what can I say, every video seems to get better your camera skills and story telling are at the top end of the scale, love your work joe would be nice to meet you one day just to say hello. Ride safe .
I Love your video's Joe Its a shame that they are a bit fussy due to the speed you are going. I know you cant fix that. The camp site looks great. Its great to see a bit of the wild life.
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed this episode. There are 2, the first one I used on this trip transaustraliatrail.com.au/tracks/mapview#content sites.google.com/view/thegoatgreatozadventuretrail/
Thanks Shane, I am glad you are enjoying the series, I have never ridden a FJR1300 but I can tell you getting off road and exploring on anything that can handle the dirt is a lot of fun.
I would have a look on the GPX files on this website transaustraliatrail.com.au/tracks/mapview#content . There are trails west of Sydney and you can either go west (around the Tumult) or east of Sydney (deus national Park area). Then getting on Barry Way from Jindabyne. You can take a left from there to McKillops Bridge or take Limestone road towards Omeo, from Omeo you can get back onto the dirt to Dargo. Then there are a series of dirt roads and tracks towards Melbourne, The GPX files have all the details. Hope that helps.
You are an inspiration will have to try the aralewan trip looked nice along the river do you no the rd name if your heading north it is a nice ride thru gundy moonan flat 20 River ride to Nundle and back to gundy good loop
Thanks mate, I am glad you enjoyed it. From the town of Moruya on the Princes HWY you turn on to Campbell St, which turns in to Luck st, which turns into Araluen Rd

thanks Lincoln, glad you enjoyed it. the Rinowalk 24 are great, no issue with them I have dropped the bike and dragged it and didn't damage them, everything has stayed dry, so far they are doing the job. Hard verses soft. if you are going to be doing long road sections, stopping in towns more then the hard ones are great as they are lockable in town and they are way easier to get in and out of and pull stuff in and out. If you are going to be more on dirt (rougher harder tracks) the soft ones are better due to them being lighter it is easier to ride the bike and you don't start with your suspension already compressed further. The soft ones do take longer to get in and out of and it's harder to find stuff and pull it out .
@freewayproject Thanks Joe for the detailed reply. You are a massive inspiration. I'm in tassie and can't wait to rise around my own state. I also loved your around Bali series and I'm doing that next trip there. Wifes from Java so we are planning to try Bali to Solo in Java where she is from and maybe on to Kalmantan. You should do Kalmantan it would be awesome. Sorry last question. Any feedback on the rinowalk rackless panniers? They are interesting because of the weight reduction but I'm scared there maybe be an issue with heat on the exhaust. Any feed back much appreciate, stay safe.

I have had no other issues with the excused, it sit about 5cm above it and doesn't move. Well I am sure not too many people will read this far down, but I am currently in Indonesia doing some research, I am trying to see the logistics of getting from Wetar Island in the East all the way to Banda Aceh in the west along the island chain. (oh and I am here surfing). I have surfed the outer island of Sumatra a lot and islands to the east (lombok, Sumbawa, Sumba tip of Java) but If you have any information on Java Sumatra or any thing else in Indonesia, places to explore etc, I would love to hear. I am not sure if I can pull this off but I am at least going to do the research and try.
@freewayproject Awesome matey I m excited at the proposition of that trip and watching on youtube. I'm still a bit if nube so I doubt I can help you much. I have sufed some of the places you talked about when I was younger. I had an idea a while ago of riding across lombok then on to Bali then Java and then on to Kalmantan. I don't thing there is any issues with ferries on that trip. Kalmantan would be awesome as it's not as densly populated as Java or bali and has some amazing national parks. It has a larger river system running through the middle. My wife is keen and she said no problems with ferries and vechiles on that route. I'm not sure about other islands but generally in indonesia there is always a way if you have money 🤣. Best of luck and hope the surf is pumping.

@@freewayproject I actually the worst at pronouncing stuff , Glad your enjoying the off road stuff , I’m doing WA from Wodonga in April “ not like 👍 your winter 🥶 ride 😂😂😂, but do honestly enjoy your episodes. I brought a holiday house above Cairns in the Atherton Tablelands and will be their for Winters June - August every year. If you get up that way or Wodonga the other 7 months look me up 👍
Did the Bridle Track in The New Year break and saw Deer too!!! Beautiful Drive
It is a fun track to ride, so much wildlife
So, what was your lap time on the track? I'll bet it was blistering! 🤣 Not exactly what our bikes are built for, but at least they’re brilliant on roads like the Bridal Track, what a beautiful area! I rode some dirty twisty bits last Sunday, as always the old tractor just chugged along, taking it all in stride. After hearing about the DRZ rider, I'm even more tempted to come to Oz.
😂 well blistering could be one way to describe the lap😂 I probably didn't quite reach the 300kmph speeds the race cars do down the back straight.
Yes it is a stunning area to ride and camp and yes definitely worth coming to explore.
Nice wildlife encounters Joe. A bow might have seen you having venison for tea.😂
yes would have been a good/better option 😂
Wow what can I say, every video seems to get better your camera skills and story telling are at the top end of the scale, love your work joe would be nice to meet you one day just to say hello. Ride safe .
Thanks mate, I am glad you are still enjoying the series, it a long of fun to ride and create it.
I Love your video's Joe Its a shame that they are a bit fussy due to the speed you are going. I know you cant fix that. The camp site looks great. Its great to see a bit of the wild life.
thanks mate, glad you are still enjoying the series.
Hey mate
Howz things
Loving this new series
Thanks for the continued support Paul, stoked you're still enjoying them.

I love these videos , time to ditch the FJR1300
Thanks Shane, I am glad you are enjoying the series, I have never ridden a FJR1300 but I can tell you getting off road and exploring on anything that can handle the dirt is a lot of fun.
GPX thanks
Did you want to know where to get the GPX?
Another great vid Joe. I think I’ll have to add the bridle track to my list of rides. Fantastic. What time of year did you ride it?
Thanks mate, I am glad you enjoyed it, definitely worth riding the track.
I did it a few weeks ago.
I'm planning on a ride from Sydney to Tassie. As much as possible I want to avoid the main roads and enjoy the scenery. What route do you recommend?
Awesome story Joe, thank you. Is Gaia Maps the website you referred to in this episode ?
Thank mate glad you enjoyed it. Yes Gaia GPS is what I have been using for this series. So both the website and the phone app while on the bike to navigate
Thanks Joe. Using your trip to plan my vic to NSW trip. Living life in the Himmy lane 😅. Hope to cross paths one day. I owe you a bevvy
@@crankstermedia If you're looking for tracks, trails and dirt roads to ride these site have GPX files you can load into Gaia. The first one also does manly tarmac if you want to stay on sealed roads

Hey Joe great episode loved it. Re those soft paniers the rinowalk 24litre ones? How are they ? Do you prefer the soft now over the hard?
thanks Lincoln, glad you enjoyed it. the Rinowalk 24 are great, no issue with them I have dropped the bike and dragged it and didn't damage them, everything has stayed dry, so far they are doing the job.
@@LincolnRandall-vy9nl one of the straps dropped onto the excuse as I hadn't put it through the tidy look properly and it came lose.
Hello, do you have the stock exhaust or are you using another one? Thank you!
Hi mate, I got my bike second hand, it came with an after market exhaust. Below is a link to the one that is on my bike, I hope that helps.
