Assuming you mean the bottom bolt near the radiator bypass hose?? I've found the conical nut tends to hold itself in place once there's tension on it. I set up a 1/4" drive rachet with a shallow 13mm + U joint + long extension and force it into the bypass hose a bit to get the 13mm seated on the bolt head. That puts the rachet out by the regular rad hose with lots of space & you can sneak a finger or two on the nut to keep it from spinning initially. Hope this helps 🌞
I just replaced the seals and o-rings in my injection pump. I have everything hoked up except for the injectors to the lines since I'm trying to bleed the air from the pump. Do I have to put diesel manually into the pump? Or how does it fills up because when I crank it, it doesn't seem to be pushing any fuel out of the lines or even from the line coming from the fuel filter. Great video man, it's been super helpful!
I think *eventually* it will self prime, but filling the pump with fuel is a good idea. I use an electric inline pump to prime it. You can also put compressed air to the return line & that sends fuel the other way (use at your own risk tho lol)
hi, i have to do the same operation and the manual i have of this injection pump says that the timing of the pump it's supposed to be at around 0.355 and i have to ask if you have something with different measures or you wanted 0.385 yourself for better performance? Hey! Thanks! Yes your manual isn't wrong & neither is my timing setting. Generally timing is a range and you can be anywhere from .87mm - 1.05 mm and be totally fine. Where it performs best is up to you to find out though! Generally on a stock set up being a bit advanced (.385) can feel more peppy and give you more top end. But you really need to experiment 🌞👍have fun

@@OliverFetter I’ve got an ‘89 Mk2 Jetta with a 1.6TD. In Canada. Has about 210k KMs on it. Was gifted it a year and a half ago from a family friend’s estate. Was never winter driven. Has almost zero rust, just a couple surface spots. Needs a little TLC but interior is mint and exterior is very good. Under the hood needs some attention but just little things mostly. Just redid the suspension and threw on some coilovers too. Debating tuning the fk outta the 1.6TD or just a lighter tune for now and then swapping in a few years. Still up in the air
@@OliverFetter did you have any trouble setting the idle screw i have done the same on my aaz pump and i can not get it set its either running like crap or constant rev hang on a fraction of a turn
@@ciarangalligan2220 I haven't had that experience 🤔 sounds like you might need to drop the fuel screw & increase the idle, or there's an assembly issue if that doesn't work.
