Thanks! I'm pretty sure that's it. I bet that's roughly what I'll see when I go to check it based on how much I turned the pump. I know for a fact I have the correct 155 bar injectors idk how I wound up with .85, probably misread somewhere. We shall see.

Sometimes European auto parts specialists have the nice seamless hose clamps that you'll see OEM on many German or Swedish cars. They often say "ABA Sweden." I use them on everything just because I love the way they look, and they probably are good for hose durability. My local boating part store sells them. Most of the cars I work on are American or Japanese, and almsot all had spring clamps. I don't trust them for another use by the time I need to repalce radiator hoses. I love that you repalced certain hoses with copper pipe. Many cars made since the 1990s have coolant hoses with plastic fittings where a tee is needed. Those usually crack. VW guys frequently make metal replacements for the popular VWs. If you have a GTI, they probably make a metal coolant fitting to replace plastic junk.
Hello from the UK, love your channel, I drive a 940 Estate and a T4 Transporter, so it's perfect viewing! You have real skills, engineering and comedy, keep the content coming!
WOW, just WOW. your videos never stop to entertain me. Infotainment your videos are. Humour is witty and clever. please do keep doing what your doing. very nice videos.😄
Before timing your injection pump you need to disconnect the cold start valve. Which gives you about 0,10 - 0,15 more timing depending on how cold your coolant is. The cold start valve affects your static timing.
I would recommend to get a vacuum pump from a v70 00-07, get it complete with the sensor. very easy to install, just run it through a relay and get the signal from the position lights
Да,да ! Элекро насос от v40 плюс рессивер справляются с тормозами отлично и тихо ! Рессивер есть заводской и ставится перед радиатором.Yes, yes! The electric pump from the M40 plus the receiver handles the brakes perfectly and quietly! The receiver is factory installed and is placed in front of the radiator.
When adjusting the injection pump timing disconnect the cold start arm! Also if the needle moves clockwise and then moves slightly back ccw, you have jumped a cycle causing it to run how it did for you. The correct timing for a TIC is 0.90 - 0.97 with perfect at 0.95. Thats what ive ran in -20 to +40c weather for many years.
Thanks for mentioning this! I forgot to mention it, but it was disengaged when I timed it. I think you can see it briefly in the video. My very imprecise yank on the IP set it to about .94 she's dialed now.
I had this exact issue on my rabbit and that was the fix. Idk why I hadn't thought of it until your comment. Sometimes I really do be a silly goose. Thanks for bringing it up!

greetings from sweden again! I should point out a thing based on the vacuum pump issue. Your head is not a D24TD head it's for an N/A engine and that is why you have a differant pin i think late N/A engines have the bigger pin. i would guess that your cam i also from an N/A engine and has higher lift than a TD cam.
I have one of these engines in a landrover it seems to run sweet but smokes ( Black) at start up especially if not started for a few weeks is that bad...??? could it be something like valve guide seals?? she revs freely and no weird noises etc...
The smoke is black and not blue? Does it smell like oil or diesel? Could be valve guises, but that would be blue oil smoke. Either way, they're just smoky engines, so you're probably fine as long as it's not thick white smoke.
Was the Rochester EGR vacuum device deleted from the injection pump? Saw it in an earlier video, but don't see it in this one. May delete mine, wondering if there's a successful way around having it.

Do88 makes parts for these engines, they use silicone cooling lines that would fix all your issues and would look great
I did come across them, but it looks like they only make a set for the NA d24, so no oil cooler hoses. Figured if I made one in make em all.
