This is 5 for me: it looks almost like a traditional Subaru blue from afar, but then hits you with those beautiful reflections as soon as you get close and around. Simply great 👍🏼
At the risk of being "that guy", its time to get those headlights polished up. Otherwise, this has a Subaru Blue vibe with green highlights. Subtle but nice!
Headlight restoration would make a big difference. Buff/Polish or scuffing and spraying a couple coats of clear would definitely make that front end pop more.
I was thinking the exact same thing I was trying to look at the paint on the bonnet and can could not keep my eyes off those headlights. This is definitely a colour combo I'm considering for my BMW though good work DYC.
Gotta admit, I find your spray technique mesmerizing - so smooth, so practiced, so confident, so flawless... This is where practice meets artistry. I'll give the color a 5 of 5, but the spray process... 10 of 5! Thanks!
I have a question 🤔 I was wondering if you have ever tried a 2 tone base like a red on the lower portion of the car and a silver on the top portion then go over the whole car with one clear/pearl or hypershift or whatever colors you think would work good together? I think it would be amazing to see 1 topcoat/ effect react with 2 different color basecoats on one vehicle. Please consider it because it's kinda what I want to do on my 4th gen camaro.
I like this combo but does seem maybe a little “too” subtle at times…especially at a distance. Up close though with those color transitions looks really nice! Ima give this one a 4. Maybe the base was too deep or something? My brain’s having a hard time wrapping around this one lol
I’m agreeing with others about those headlights. It’s like 20 minutes. That being said, I’ve watched about 25 of these and never commented before. This is the best paint combo I’ve seen for sure. Love it
The Bora Bora looks very much like MG Rover MonoGRam 'Lagoon ' , and the final result reminds me of Odyssey Blue from a Rover 75. Great work, the car looks fantastic!
Looks like a proper WRX in this colour What I would like to see is a car with 3 or 4 different base colours with one pearl like Bora Bora eg white, dark grey, red and yellow bases that would give people more of an idea of what they could do. Cheers.
I’m a sucker for blue, your buddy is very correct, this combo is killer on this Subbie , the shift is subtle but very nice, it doesn’t smack you up side the head like some others you’ve done.
(Comment 2.) Hi from Germany, there is something I'd love to see and it's something i haven't seen from you guys before. (In advance, i know this is probably more work than usual but i hope you'll do it anyway ^^) Base: A dark black Cover: VOODOO VIOLET Candy Either a HyperShift or a ColorShift : Preferably from invisible to a very vibrant gold, and a very fast and hard shift at that. Since invis is probably not possible a violet that blends with the voodoo candy would also work Pearl size: As small as possible would probably have the best effect, but once again i trust your judgment on this. Now to the special part: A edge(-shift) highlight, so basically the gold Color- or HyperShift only goes on the sharp edges, corners, raised parts and high points of the panels... not on any flat surface! The edge(-shift) shouldn't be very wide tho as that wouldn't be an edge highlight anymore and would therefore ruin the intended effect. (3-5 mm [1/8 to 1/5 inch] should be good) Optional: Spray two different shifts, one from above (a bright gold) and one from below (a orangeish gold maybe) to further enhance the effect .... or only spray the shift from above to further enhance the effect. (obviously still not on any flat surface) Finish: A matte finish. But since i dont know how well the Shift effect would work, overrule me please if it won't work, i trust your judgment. [I'm not a native speaker so if anything is unclear ask away and i'll try to answer your question / try to be more specific as to what i mean] Have a nice day ^^
Just an idea, maybe try mixing the Bora Bora into the purple directly, spraying it. then sealing with gloss just to see what the out come is. Sick color regardless! ❤️
5, a Subaru being a Subaru, but with something extra. The subtle greens are great. This is the first one in a while that as it was being sprayed, I couldn't tell if it was showing up, or if the base just looked wet. Great look.
I don't know if it's at all possible but there is a scheme that I would absolutely love. Garnet with Gold pearl or vice versa. HUGE Florida State fan LOL. Thanks
4 - Classy and subtle. Looks good. Someday do car with classic camo colors. Lets see if the shifts can help conceal the car and not make it stand out. MIght be fun.
Oh wow, that’s stunning! 5/5 all day long. It’s absolutely the right colour on that car, it wouldn’t suit the Audi I don’t think but it’s perfect on the Subaru
I used to paint cars way back in the old days even got to spray lacquer lol I was around when the first catalyzed urethanes came out. What I would like to see you guys do sometime is spray a couple extra coats of clear over the top, then 1000/2000 grit sand and polish. Would love to see the effect under a mirror finish. The combo ranks a 4.5
There are very few greens, if any, that I'd have on my car, but this is amazing. Subtle, soft, and beautiful, this is a colour and shade I'd happily have on my motor. 5/5 😉👍🏻
If you could somehow get that swirling pattern that happens in the beaker (while you're mixing) and get it transitioned over to the car it would be so awesome.
This is a no green or gold recommendation. You did it once on a sample about a year ago and I’ve been really wanting to see it on a full car, it was amazing. House of color Black Candy over Sterling Silver
I want to see a badass Red like candy apple or something along those lines (No gold flop) the reds always seems to have gold tones. Just an awesome RED. That Blue is Fire though.4.7 for me.
Loving these videos. Just a quick tip though.......your beaker you use for mixing. There is a pointy bit at the top. That's used for pouring. Makes it a bit easier. Otherwise, keep up the great work.
Lol I've got as far as the pour and I'm triggered so bad by the fact that your pouring it from the side wen the spout is right there 😅 🙃 🤣 I can't wait to see how this one turns out....... ok this looks amazeballs looks like the Colin mcray rally blue perfect
Beautiful combo, unlike those hypershifts (which ARE cool) this is something I'd put on my own car, but y'all gotta find a clearcoat that's not so hazy.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this looks like Scooby Blue’s older, more sophisticated brother. Definitely a great choice for any scooby rex.
please please please spray your most orange _bronze metallic_ as a base and top with a couple few coats of _pink candy…_ i think it’ll be really hot !!
I'd give it a 3/5- it's nice, like wearing a good pair of work clothes with a nice tie or piece of jewelry to spiff it up. It's safe, elegant, but not going to drop any jaws.
*"No Greens, no Golds".. picks Green pearl* 😂.. Rate this combo 1-5 ⬇
5 easy.
Solid 5
Sorry. We may have found the first time I didn't really like a result. 2 Still definitely worth a like. Have a great day.
4 for me, I think maybe a darker base would work better, again just my opinion
3 it's nice
This is 5 for me: it looks almost like a traditional Subaru blue from afar, but then hits you with those beautiful reflections as soon as you get close and around.
Simply great 👍🏼
World Rally Blue babyyyyy
At the risk of being "that guy", its time to get those headlights polished up. Otherwise, this has a Subaru Blue vibe with green highlights. Subtle but nice!
I mentioned it when they bought the car years ago🤣
I thought it looked like a "Factory" paint.
I couldn't place it. Thanks.
Some black projector aftermarket would look good too.
Headlight restoration would make a big difference. Buff/Polish or scuffing and spraying a couple coats of clear would definitely make that front end pop more.

Yup we did this on the mustang or M3 I can’t remember which one..
@@dipyourcar and...
Best looking D.Y.C. car of 2022!! You get the full effect of the Pearl, and you can still see the purple underneath.
I reckon that putting a rose coloured pearl over that poison grape would look pretty awesome :)
I'm really enjoying the new video format. It really feels like you're being more engaging with us, giving us a more hanging with a friend feeling.
It's a 2 this week for me. It looks like a factory paint job with a little shimmer to it.
This is definitely a 5 in my book, the flare is subtle but there, the metallic content is just the right amount and the color itself is gorgeous.
I love how the purple was rendered more of a Subaru blue. That wasn't something I was expecting. It is a nice, subtle combo. Solid 4/5
I like this combo but does seem maybe a little “too” subtle at times…especially at a distance. Up close though with those color transitions looks really nice! Ima give this one a 4. Maybe the base was too deep or something? My brain’s having a hard time wrapping around this one lol
Hell yeah!!! 5/5 looks beautiful 😍 love the color transition. Well done another job well done 👍
This gold effect matches the Subaru gold rims and is perfect for sunny California days. nice job
My version of perfection. Blur is my favourite colour and this hypershift is spot on with having my favourite shade of Blue
I’m agreeing with others about those headlights. It’s like 20 minutes.
That being said, I’ve watched about 25 of these and never commented before. This is the best paint combo I’ve seen for sure. Love it
Perfect pigment load! Essentially an interference at that rate and looks amazing!!
The Bora Bora looks very much like MG Rover MonoGRam 'Lagoon ' , and the final result reminds me of Odyssey Blue from a Rover 75. Great work, the car looks fantastic!
1 You started out with my favorite color and made it blue. I'd have been happier with a clear coat over the purple.
1 I agree with Gabe! My favorite combination so far!
Nice looking blue! That Bora Bora looks pretty wild in the beaker, and the end result is great!
LOVE! It does make me think of Subaru , Ford and a few others. Keep Orange Crushing It!
Beautiful result, now to restore or replace the headlights (paint looks so great that it highlights the dirty headlights).
This color looks fantastic on the WRX, I like the nice subtle changes from blue to green and the gold wheels. This gets a 5.
Looks like a proper WRX in this colour
What I would like to see is a car with 3 or 4 different base colours with one pearl like Bora Bora
eg white, dark grey, red and yellow bases that would give people more of an idea of what they could do. Cheers.

That is beautiful! Definitely a 5. I love your channel. Keep them coming.
I was worried that the base might be too deep.... but Gabe was right... Nice..... subtle but nice 👍👍👍
Soooo pretty! Definitely a 5, no questions! Great job!
Hard 4....subtle but nice!...keep it up DYC team!

@@Charlie_Waffles ich hab keine Ahnung 😅 ich hab selbst keine Karre 😂 ... ich dachte aber das Schwarz ne gute base für das Candy violet ist 🤔
Just an idea, maybe try mixing the Bora Bora into the purple directly, spraying it. then sealing with gloss just to see what the out come is. Sick color regardless! ❤️
5 such a beautiful colour. One of the best so far

The colors for the car are awesome.😎

4 - Classy and subtle. Looks good.
Someday do car with classic camo colors. Lets see if the shifts can help conceal the car and not make it stand out. MIght be fun.
Hands down, 5! i now need to think of a project where I can try this color combo for myself.
My wife and I give a 5 out of 5. It fits the car perfectly. This is what the WRX's are known for.
It certainly looks good and does suit the car
The teal colour shift is just right 4 out 5 for me
This car is my second fav spray I've seen across you're vids, nice
Very nice really like the combo and I think saturation is perfect
This is just subtly enough to be OEM correct if you don't know what you're looking at. 4.5 for me. Thks for the great combo.
It fits the car so much
That's a 7 bro! Beautiful!
My favorite, wow love the blue pearl and the poison grape combo I give you 5 plus
YEP! Straight Fire! My favorite car in the world, and the hyper shift...? C'mon Fonzee.......LET"S GOOOOOO!
Oh wow, that’s stunning! 5/5 all day long. It’s absolutely the right colour on that car, it wouldn’t suit the Audi I don’t think but it’s perfect on the Subaru
I'd love to see a black base with a golden yellow hypershift on it. Basically a Pittsburgh Steelers look. Pretty please!
5 all day long. Looks like WRB with a green kicker. Awesome
What a magnificent paint job paying homage to the original sonic blue top job as always guys 5
Looks good. I'd like more of the purple though. Maybe a vertical fade, purple on bottom and blue on top.
beautiful shift colors overr one of my favorite base color.... !!! awesome
I used to paint cars way back in the old days even got to spray lacquer lol I was around when the first catalyzed urethanes came out. Poppin that pearl! Looks good. A solid 4 for me.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
It fits the Subaru wonderfully and i think they should add it as a premium OEM. color. Great work. as always 👍🏻
@DipYoucar Ahahaha. Get off, scammer!
I'm whelmed by this color. It's nice, but its very understated which isn't a bad thing.
If you could somehow get that swirling pattern that happens in the beaker (while you're mixing) and get it transitioned over to the car it would be so awesome.
When the finished car first appeared on screen I immediately said, "oh wow." 5/5
i love that grape matt finish
Looks great. Like WR Blue but with extra spice! Time to give those headlights a polish, they really let that pretty dip down.
that subaru is definitely the right choice for that color
This may be a stupid question, but why are you not using the "v" when pouring the paint from the mix jar into the spray jar?
This is a no green or gold recommendation. You did it once on a sample about a year ago and I’ve been really wanting to see it on a full car, it was amazing. House of color Black Candy over Sterling Silver
Yup, same here.
IIRC a good bunch of people (including myself) wanted to see it on the Tesla.
I want to see a badass Red like candy apple or something along those lines (No gold flop) the reds always seems to have gold tones. Just an awesome RED. That Blue is Fire though.4.7 for me.

I hope Impreza owners and Subaru are payng attention!
Hi, what happens to the inside of the doors for example, when you're getting into the car, are they painted as well?
5!!! Looks awesome!
I have a question.
I really loke the bora bora color. How would it contrast on a black primer surface??
How long is the storage life of these dips and pearls? I’m wondering about slowing gathering the materials for my own car.
2 for me
Always appreciate this channel
Lol I've got as far as the pour and I'm triggered so bad by the fact that your pouring it from the side wen the spout is right there 😅 🙃 🤣 I can't wait to see how this one turns out....... ok this looks amazeballs looks like the Colin mcray rally blue perfect
It's a 5 for me that is basically an oem color just with more wow effect
Fits the car perfectly
The paint is beautiful. It’s not a color I would do. I think the look is amazing. Give it a 3
Actually, that car looks so good I just want to take a bite out of it! Perfect 5!!
Will the BoraBora over white base give a pearl look?
Love the look over a dark base.
4.3 love the lite shift in color
Perfect. Now try it over silver or white. 😎👍👍
Beautiful combo, unlike those hypershifts (which ARE cool) this is something I'd put on my own car, but y'all gotta find a clearcoat that's not so hazy.
The collor looks amazing, now go polish those headlights! LOL! :)
I absolutely lost it at 2:28 😂😂😂😂
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this looks like Scooby Blue’s older, more sophisticated brother. Definitely a great choice for any scooby rex.
It’s literally hypershift world rally blue 😂. Love it. 5 out of 5 😊
wow, that pearl reminds me of GM's Bermuda Blue Metallic paint
Ok…NGL…Probably the best one ever!
That look great. You should try mat instead od glossy and idę some grey Pearl.
You guys do awesome work!👍🏻
please please please spray your most orange _bronze metallic_ as a base and top with a couple few coats of _pink candy…_ i think it’ll be really hot !!
5 out of 5 all the way. I would put that on my car. It is an amazing combination no doubt!
I'd give it a 3/5- it's nice, like wearing a good pair of work clothes with a nice tie or piece of jewelry to spiff it up. It's safe, elegant, but not going to drop any jaws.
This is one of my favorites!❤
Have you thought about using magnetic stirrers for your dramatic mixing shots… I think would be so cool to see….
Damn that does look good and does fit the car well.
That is gorgeous I give it a 5, went prefect with the Subaru
A 5 for me I’m a big fan of blue strange how it killed the purple nice work more blues please !
That'll look magic once the head lights are detailed
Hit this one %1000 great job guys.
