Hi, grams is based on weight and teaspoon is based on volume. The density and volume of each ingredient will be different in different countries, if there are discrepancies, the grams shall prevail
@Apron I used a stainless steel pot instead. Although the cake puffed up nicely in the oven, after I turned it upside down to cool in the pot, it collapsed upwards (shrunk) and became very dense. Not fluffy at all. More like a dense sponge. It was an epic fail! That's the end of my cake baking attempt. Will continue to buy from the stores from now onwards. 😞

Hi,maybe is the egg whites problem, you can try this,beat the egg white on high-speed speed until become bubble form,begin beat the egg whites on low speed added sugar separately for three times until stiff peaks form,they become foamy and frothy it takes about 5-10 minutes to whip the eggs whites.
Just grease the base, not the sides. The batter needs to cling to the sides to rise. You can run a knife to release it once it's cooled. But if your pan doesn't release at the bottom, you need to grease the bottom of the pan to allow the cake to come out. Does it make sense?

I found my cake to be a bit on the sweet side.. R u sure thr is no mix up with the sugar and flour measurement in tablespoon?
