I’m in Dallas,Tx and we rarely see carp near the surface, and we have an abundance of ducks, coots, and geese that make it near impossible to surface fish with bread. So, we mostly use the sinking bread balls on the hook. Sweetcorn is my number one go to bait. Bread a distant second. My most common is to use a method feeder with popup plastic corn or 10mm plastic boilies... killer!
These Fishing Tutorials are always a good watch. It's interesting to see that you guys often prefer to tie your own Hooks. I've bought Hooks to Nylon for many years. The shaft of a pre-tied Spade End Hook is always in perfect alignment with the Hooklength, so I believe that the presentation of the Hook is better and more consistent, and certainly much better than I could do myself using an Eyed Hook!
I always use bread at my lake for carp fishing. They love it. I use it on the surface but also ledger with it pushed through a band. Hasn’t failed yet. Caught one yesterday by using discs of bread on a hair rig with bait stop
id say that id rank it third. luncheon meat first then corn then bread. also the cheapest bait of all which is often neglected....worms..days where not one carp was taken and slammed on worms and cleaned up but not often used compared to many other baits. also a great tip with bread especially surface fishing is toast it ! i used to toast a whole loaf. its tougher stays on the hook better but just performs the same as bread. so better over all.
Request: can you guys do a video on using PVA practically in the rain ? I have always stuck to the method so I don’t have to worry about the rain taking my free bait off my rig. Cheers.
Hey there! We tend to fish from under an umbrella if we're carping in the rain and will bring a nice cloth with us to dry our hands with!! I'm with you though, PVA is tricky when it's really wet out!
My fav bread is mixed bread but its really crumbly so i dry it for a long time until you barely get the hook in . In this State ist extremly Heavy so i can cast it accurate and where no other surface fisherman can cast. After it Hits the water it Takes like 5 seconds and the bread is soft enough to hook the Fish But you can still drag in along the surface if you Need to adjust the cast to get the bait infront of your Fish.
I don't fish commercials that often but on a session this summer all the different pellets that I had been recommended were failing to get bites and I had to stop using worm because I was being plagued by small Perch. I decided in desperation to take some of my sandwiches and use the bread as flake - cue a small Mirror, an 11lb Common and a second common of similar size that I lost at the net.
The only thing I know is that I have NEVER caught a carp on bollies. I've tried nearly all the fancy rigs that they recommend to use with them but to no avail. Success with corn and pellets. Today just got back from a carp fishing session - no luck but the guy next to me bagged a good few surface fishing with white bread. A lesson learned! I'm also going to Tescos for some dog biscuits!
I love using bread. And in certain situations you can’t beat it. However there can never be a “best bait”. All bait comes into its own at some point. In one set of lakes I fish, I tare it to pieces on bread. Another lake they love a mix of corn and 12mm boilies. In another tricky lake the smallest food item you can use is 15mm boilies because there is a huge head of massive bream (you’re lucky to catch one under 10lb) and they tare particles to pieces. It’s all trial and error finding what they want on you’re lake. Great video
No better feeling than seeing another video pop up from my two best brothers in the world.... Cheers boys.. But ya gotta love the old bread for surface fishing... Doesn't beat chum mixes though lmfao...
I love bread but have always had best success with Spam. No matter what I fish on I'll always bring a tin of spam with me incase the fishing is slow. I got into carp fishing about a year ago and have been hooked since (no pun intended) unfortunately my biggest is only 7lb but I like the thought of not knowing when that double figure will take my bait 👍
I had a cheese roll in my lunch box i put a quarter of the heavily butterd roll on a rod free lining and had a 18 pound mirror carp my pb. I think the butter helped
A friend of mine once came to watch me fish, he never understood fishing or why people would do it, that is until carp started to surface feed in my swim, i handed him a rod with a chunk of crust on and told him to just cast near the next fish he saw on the surface, he only went and caught a 22lb bad boy for his first fish and now he is hooked, he even got a job at my local fisherie,
Worms be my favourite bait. You can get them for free, or even set up a worm farm in your garden if you use many. Every fish that swims will eat worm, wherever it be hair rigging multipal fat juicy worms for big fish like carp, pike, catfish, big bream, big tench, big barbel, giant chub. Or to use straight on the hook for catching literary everything else.
So many good cheap baits from the supermarket that are overlooked these days as manufacturers push the latest flavour or wonder bait. Meat and corn over hemp is a favourite of mine. But meatballs, bread, dog biscuits are great. If you can stomach it and its not banner catfood can be deadly. Absolutely stinks though
bread ball soaked in jello or koolaid, thats all you need for bottom fishing....but... If you want to get fancy, carp love bread, eggs, corn and the color yellow...thus, cornbread must be ideal(i havent tried it)
I think the best bait can be different at different times of year and in different locations. Boilies obvious target larger fish and don't get ripped to bits by smaller fish. But just because they are a more practical bait for long sessions doesn't make them the best Carp bait. I think that Bread, Corn, Maggots, Worms Luncheon meat, Pellets have always worked well and always will. I think the bait approach a match angler would use to catch carp is very different to a specimen Carp anglers bait approach too.

Great video, but i will continue using my nymph and flyrod😉

oh and one last thing lads, you can also vaseline the line to keep it a surface and dont do what i did, didnt pay attention and had a duck on the line, luckily it managed to get loose after 5 mins of panicking..
@@fishingtutorials just for future reference do you think that raw semolina will affect the carp in any way? Because last time I used a mix of both cooked and raw coarse semolina
What can I say other than another great video. What I've learnt from this one is to leave the hook exposed. I was burying it in the bread because I thought the fish would see it & think I will stay away from that thing. Obviously giving the fish far too much credit for having common sense 🙄.
Good stuff - but surely corn would deserve at least an honorary mention...? Also, do you guys realise how spoilt for choice of bread you are in the UK? The sliced bread we get here in Denmark is horrible, dry and crumbly even when fresh, and comes off the hook immediately unless you squeeze it so hard that it ends up clogging up the hook. A kingdom for a loaf of Warburtons medium sliced.....
What I like is that they explain everything so precisely & clearly rather than big themselves up. I think I must have the right youtube algorithm as I keep ending up with them and that is fine by me.

The best brothers on RUclips 👍👍
Jack Paul has entered the conversation;🤨
Watching carp take bread of the top is so exciting , I used to do this all the time 👍
I like your childhood fishing clips, with much fishing passion
No better feeling than waking up early morning and throwing out a bread bait and watching a fish gulp it down 😃
even better at night mate 👍🏻
@Danny Dore I love it me 6am in the morning hot summers day 🎣 nice lump on floated bread 👌
Love it mate
I love float fishing seeing duck under, so satisfying

I've only ever done surface fishing 1 time with bred. Didn't get much luck but defo be giving it another go this summer
Great vid tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
bread and corn both work well.. but shrimp chunks are the winner for me over here.. caught a couple dozen carp Friday night on shrimp...
As ever an amazing video! Keep at it😊👍
Great video as always 👍I'm definitely going to try the bread crumbs in a PVA mesh. thanks lads for the tips 🎣
So excellent of this video
And you are doing so brilliant work

Hi carl and Alex can we get more carp vids and love what you have been doing
hi carl and alex i love your videos.
awesome video. i found natural worm bait to be effective on the koi carps great fun to catch too
At my local waters it's not allowed to do this which is annoying is there any good waters around Manchester or Bolton england

hi guys loved the videos if you had to fish for one specific species for the rest of your life what would it be and why 🎣
Great video once again lads 👍
Thanks for sharing this video my friend
Hello guys
Can you make a tutorial on spoding and how to setup a spod rod and reel?
Would be great 🙏
Here in the US we use small craw imitation flies on fly rods up shallow when the waters warm.

In romania is a lake called varlaam lake and it holds carp that are over 45 pounds. The biggest is 70 pounds. You should check it out
Thanks you guys are the best
Enjoyed that.
Royal canin dog buscits always work for me, my best was an 18lb common

Bread is my most used bait, it's caught me all of my fish tbh,it all most always works👍
Just bought a pack of bread slices, they last until 17th of June and I’m going fishing on the 15th, should i freezer it for best results?
Thanks. No wondering why the bread is so good for many other types of fishing, not only carp.
What rod and reel can you use for Freelining? Anyone got suggestions?
Ciao ragazzi sono un carpista Italiano una domanda...usate imitazione di pane

Tanks looking good
What is the best bait if bread is banned on the lake would it be corn because I always catch on sweetcorn
love it guys
I sometimes use corn and I have caught a lot using corn so yeah
Good information

Bread and corn my go to baits, cheap too.
I mean if you are surface fishing, why not use a float too to detect easier, if i get what surface fishing is.

I’m going carp fishing with my dad today and using semolina as ground bait I hope I’ll get something big😅
Hope you had a good one! How did you do?

Not sure on that one! I know it's used in boilies, but not so sure on whether it's cooked first.
I went to angling direct and I told them about you and they knew you loved you

I like boilies more than bread
