I know you deleted your other responses, but here is my response. I respect the disagreement. It’s completely valid! Art is only subjective. It can’t be objective because it’s meant to be interpreted, therefore it will always be different and be enjoyed and/or disliked by a variety of people. So to some degree, having an opinion on music or other art is pointless, but people do like to hear what other people interpret from said art. So therefore the music/art critic exists. Basically, this is completely my opinion and sure I sometimes say it in a way that sounds like I believe it’s objective. But that’s just because I truly believe what I think and interpret. As for the other things, I think I did give some pretty specific examples and could have gotten deeper into the argument, but I don’t really have the audience to try to captivate people for any more than a couple mins with my thoughts. So I thought I’d keep it short. Definitely influences are important and impossible not to have, I was just trying to explain that I thought yeat was not being as innovative and unique as people are saying he is. He’s definitely getting way better as an artist and this change is way out of left field for him. So I do respect that, I just try to fight against the glazing a bit (not saying you are glazing)
i think it has more to do with the way these sounds are used over the sounds being used sure they sound like other things made in the past but i feel when someone makes something that's supposed to represent or sound like "music from the future" its not always done in the best way or done that often but in this scenario imagine if yeat dropped his usual album roll out then i wouldn't be surprised by people this project non innovative but he came outta left field sobered up and dropped some of the best produced music ive heard in a minute wether you want to admit it or not the way he uses atmosphere to set the vibe for each track its really something. i also really disagree with the mumbling part i think for the most part through this album you can actually understand him unlike previous tracks done in the past. also this is all coming from someone who i wouldnt say i was a fan. lastley i think bradtaste in music made a really good point in his reaction about how on songs that still have that old yeat/ rage vibe to them are way better than ken carson, destroy lonley, etc. and i lowkey glaze ken and destroy lonley but they didnt stand a chance with what yeat just dropped
I agree that the production is good and that his soundscapes are very intriguing and out of left field for him. But the disagreement I have is that it’s unique to the genre as a whole. It really isn’t. I definitely have gained appreciation for Yeat from this album and definitely fw most tracks. I just think the reaction is getting to the point of glazing and isn’t fully warranted. A little warranted, but not fully. But I appreciate any well thought out opinion on it, like yours. It is a good album, I just don’t think it’s a great one. I would maybe land in between Fantano/Bradtaste’s opinions and the nfr boys (they didn’t like it lol)
it not being so experimental and its still has yeat elements while having futuristic production make it so great and distinguishable. You dont need to reinvent the wheel and change the landscape of hiphop to make amazing music.
Yes you’re definitely right, but many people say that he is…. That’s kind of what I’m bucking against. It’s a good album and has some great production, but some of the reactions/reviews don’t seem to be warranted and are starting to look like glazing
@@B-SideContentCreation yeah saying that it does not have the sustainability to “reinvent hiphop” is a fair take but that should not affect how an album is enjoyable or not imo

@@B-SideContentCreation I think a lot of his new sound is not even real music, it’s very dissonant frequency’s that evoke stress/negativity in me, it just doesn’t feel right to listen to.
There’s always room for discussion, ie the comments! And lol on the Fantano disagreeing 😂 But hey, I knew the disagreement and dislikes would come on this video
@@B-SideContentCreation it’s very experimental as much as mechanical animals, Utopia and Yeezus, tell me an album that did the same thing as this and sounds like this and successfully does
carti has never done anything like 2093? and travis is close but the only similarity is great production, 2093 is a whole other sound then anything travis has done, anyways its weird to say its not experimental because you have heard similar sounds on movies when you didnt name a single album similar to 2093 which is different for the rap scene
Travis Scott’s rodeo is similar, The Weeknd Dawn FM is also very similar vibes. Anything that relies heavily on 80s synth and 808s has similar sounds. Quadeca IDMTHY.
Bringing back showing dislikes on videos would be such a good move
But you wouldn’t put one here tho right?

I liked his mix of high and low voiceplay and fast flows mixed in with a lot of variations, that’s what made Yeat for me.
I enjoyed that too! Again, don’t get me wrong, I thought it was a good album, just not a great one
