Yep you can't stop without brakes. Those needing replacing a long time ago. Good to spend time with you in the goofy garage.

Can't believe how clean those hub splines were.

I was totally amazed. This bike set out in a field for at least 10 years too. Maybe not being in the shade kept it dryer than it might have been in a different place.

Hook up a yard trailer and that quad would be a handy utility rig. Looks like the brake job is turning out pretty good George. Looking forward to seeing you running around the place when you get it all back together.

Thank you Matt. This quad has a trailer hitch setup on it, so it will be receiving a ball and another piece to make it universal for the lawn trailer too.

so far you have been lucky with not much damage after it sat for so long, I find this kind of thing very interesting,, I have never worked on one of these.

This is my third such thing, though the other two I only tinkered with in minor areas. I am enjoying learning how to work on this unit. Thanks Vernon

This is the fun stuff . Fixing something that you want fix not have to fix.

I’ve changed rear brakes on Honda’s before and ever seen the back retaining nuts come off like that , pretty go way to start off a brake project. Going to make fun ride when you are done .

Thanks so much Shawn. I have been very surprised at how well these pieces have come apart. Going back together now. Stay tuned!

Is that a dremal you are using george if so those are handy tools especially for using a wire wheel on them they are also good for using as a cutting wheel too my grandpas got a dremal and I used it the other day on a shovel to get this rust off the shovel and it works really good it’s pretty powerful too

A little TLC and you'll have it stopping on a dime. I'd take a peak at the wheel cylinders too George, get everything clean and it'll work like a champ.

I am cleaning and reworking the wheel cylinders. One one side it was completely frozen and even the left side only one piston is moving. They will be almost like new again when we get done. Stay tuned for the updates coming. Thanks Ken

We picked up 3 Hart 1/2" socket sets marked down to $8. They seem to be pretty durable

That's a really great example of drum brakes for those that only see discs anymore. Was either the tie-rod end,or ball joint loose?I saw weird movement but couldn't tell from where, when you were removing the front drum.Hope you have good luck with parts shipping.Seems to be an all over problem.

The tie rod ends are a little loose. I may drill them out and put grease zerks in and get a little more life out of them yet. Thanks Bry
