We all have setbacks starpuppy. It's ok. You'll bounce back.
Edit: I didn't expect this tiny little comment to get such mixed responses, but I feel the need to clarify some things. It was never my intention to invalidate Danielle's feelings towards her hair loss. As someone who struggles with hair growth and loss themselves with 4C hair, I understand that exhaustion, exasperation, and overall pain can be felt by a setback like this. Her feelings are 110% valid and understood. I've been through it, but as someone who doesn't know her personally but has watched her from her channel's near inception until now and getting inspiration on how take care of my natural hair and facing all that comes with it, I've seen what she has allowed us to see. The damage, the hair loss, and the length checks. I always cheer her on because I see a lot of myself in her, including the bad times. So what do you say to someone in passing going on their journey, you encourage them towards the future. I'm sorry if it triggered alot of you.

@@TheStarPuppyThus happened to me years ago. 2 spots and had to wear a ponytail to hide them. I went to a dermatologist who pricked my scalp (not painful) with a needle that had a solution in it. I forget what it was. Not even a week later there was peach fuzz then in just a few months it was long enough in those spots to wear my hair out. Between trims and continued growth it became a distant memory within a year.

@Trinity M there's a difference when you don't have a choice tho. That's like telling someone who wants to be pregnant but can't that they shouldn't place so much value in it. The difference is a desire for something and having the choice taken away. I cut my hair to a buzz cut when I was younger just because I wanted to but I can guarantee you if I was forced to do it I would feel much more differently

Losing your hair is traumatic, especially when you consider how we in the Black community are criticized by their hair.
More than anything, I want you to remember that it's JUST hair. Your life is not in jeopardy and hair grows back. Even if it doesn't, you are NOT your hair. Shave it all off can be liberating. Relaxing may include releasing yourself from preoccupation with hair. It may require you to focus on other things.

Stressed so bad I was recently diagnosed with Grave’s (autoimmune hyperthyroidism) It caused my hair to fall out in strands/clumps (along with a plethora of other symptoms). Especially at my temples. I was crushed. Still recovering. Wishing you the absolute best in your mental and physical health journey. You’re not alone ❤️❤️

Hey Danielle 👋🏾 (hey Sam 🐕) My hair fell over the last few weeks also. The top of my head and spreading toward my hair line is scalped. I have CCCA, a type of alopecia triggered for me thru poor blood circulation, hypothyroidism, menopause and whatnot. I have decided to buzz cut my hair with no fades and feminine line ups. Why fight to maintain long hair? My stress will never go away...i own it. But my hair will no longer suffer.

It’s crazy how you have sooo much hair that even with alopecia and a whole “section” missing, you STILL appear to have a full head of hair… certainly more than me! Mine is fine and shorter, and my thinning (not alopecia 🙏🏽🙏🏽) is around the perimeter; my mid section is a bit thicker & fuller. Saying this all to say, I’m praying yours fully comes back in! However, your hair is STILL GORGEOUS! As is your face!! 😍😍 even in your down moment, some of us WISH we had as much hair & gorgeous skin as you. You’re beautiful and blessed- so “Ma’am, calm down” 🤭🤭 you’re doing great! 🤗🤗

You definitely are not alone in this issue. I have dealt with a similar issue throughout my life in different areas of my scalp. I can go for prolonged periods of time with hair growth then... boom... it happens again. Stress is a booger. Sometimes it happens when I don't necessarily feel stressed. Staying relaxed. Maintaining healthy friendships & relationships only helps a great deal. Also regularly exercising is awesome. Stay mobile. Also nurture your interests & hobbies. Last year I experienced it; however, the hair started growing back in the affected area. I've always had thick hair so for the most part I've been able to be creative & camouflage it but it's still traumatic. Prayers and support for you and anyone who deals with this condition. It teaches you patience for sure🙏🏾
