Oh how my heart skipped a beat at that clip of your hair loss. Totally felt it when you said "a section is gone... it's just gone." 😢 I've also experienced alopecia in the top middle of my head due to a particularly stressful time in my life. Lost sooo much hair. Carrying anxiety in your body is such a real thing. That experience eventually forced me to learn how to really take care of my myself and my hair... so the rest of it doesn't fall out. Thank you for trusting us to share all of this! I’d watch a “Girl, Calm Down!” series but I hope you do it whether you post it or not. Keep being kind to yourself!
I am so sorry that the hard work you’ve done has been taken away from you like that. I would watch anything you post even if it’s not about your hair journey. You are so much more than your hair. We can see you’re thoughtful, talented and kind, and I’m sure you’re so much more to the people in your life. So much love to you!!!
Stay strong StarPuppy! Stress sucks but, when you get through it, you learn invaluable lessons! In addition to really close to being old and crusty, I have had enough nearly bald experiences myself. Loved this insightful video ! Hang in there girl.
I'm so glad Gen Z is more open with talking about anxiety. As a Gen Xer I didn't know or understand what I was going through in my 20s and it would have been comforting to know others experience the same. There was such a stigma that is slowly lifting. I've been dealing with it all my life and am in my 40s now. My crown was also affected but slowly growing back as I heal. Thank you for sharing your story with us and all the best.
Well I’ve never commented before but Danielle you became a huge part of my life. I discovered you during the beginning of the pandemic when I was losing my hearing.Your energy and honesty in your videos how you produced and scripted the jokes it took the focus of what I was having anxiety over. You kept me company through many sleepless night I spent listening to the loud ringing in my ears, and I listened to you talk about hair. And your humor and knowledge about hair became louder than the distracting sounds that kept me awake. I can’t thank you enough for that. I will be praying for you Danielle. Anxiety and stress is no joke and I hope you find great results with care/ of, I will support you on your new channel.
U are such a charismatic open relatable person. Don’t let this discourage you. U don’t have to do hair all the time. Do the things that enjoy u…and if u want to throw in some hair content ☺️☺️☺️
That’s a hard thing to experience, especially when you feel like things are going right, and then all of a sudden things change. That can be very stressful. All will be well girly! Don’t give up! Be encouraged as well. 💜
I have loved your channel for years. I found it because you were talking about hair. But I came back because you were so curious and funny and lovely. I felt the same way about @nappyheadedjojoba when she stopped talking about hair. You are loved. You are lovely. You will be loved and lovely whatever happens. Sending you best wishes on this journey. 🙏🏽
I enrolled in RUclips University a couple of years ago. I am soooo late to the online natural hair content movement/game. You were my first favorite and still are two years later. You turned me on to Ayurveda and hair oils - changing my hair game from superficial to health focused. Your impact has been felt and appreciated. Evolve, Danielle! Make moves. Continue to be a blessing on whatever path you choose. Peace, joy and abundance to you!!
Trich needs to be talked about more. So many of us suffer from it. I did the big chop last July because I couldn’t stop tearing out my hair. I’ve always had a nice length and had been natural for 10 years.I lost my sister in 2019, then the pandemic hit and black hair stylist stopped wanting to wash hair. My hair is now around 4 inches and I’m starting up again in the same part of my scalp that I pull from. Planning to find therapy and rooting for you as well! We got this!!❤
same. I've been struggling with it since 2019... I've done two buzzcuts and am now trying to grow my afro back out but I cant stop pulling my hair around the temples. it sucks because it makes me seem like I have a receding hairline but I just can't seem to stop :(
I had trich from infancy to age 11. I then switched to scratching scalp to the point of bleeding. I cut my hair off almost 15 years ago and have never gone back. Best thing I ever did! I got a cute head shape though 😅
We love you Danielle! We are here for you and Fluffnugget! At least you know where you went wrong and have a plan to get back on track! Please don't stress....I know that's easier said than done. I look forward to the new channel! Will keep you in my prayers!
We're rooting for you hun. You have such a wonderful, genuine spirit and I truly pray for you to attain the best of health and success that you need on your journey. Wishing you the best of the best and even though you're embarking on a new journey, I have a feeling you will return to this chapter as we truly enjoy your hair journey as well :)
I have a similar issue and went to see a trichologist who told me my hair was falling out true to stress and nutritional deficiency. My vitamin D and ferritin levels were lower than the pits of hell. So now I’m taking zinc, potassium, vitamin D, iron, zinc, pretty much the whole periodic table it seems. Hugs hang in there 🤗
Stress is no joke and I would love to see you series on working relaxing and decreasing stress methods. Soooooo needed for all of us. Thank you for sharing your journe. You are a beautiful soul!
This is bittersweet because I just started engaging with you and was including my teenage daughter as well. I also suffer from TTM since a child and had about 14 bald spots. It gets better and I commend you for sharing and being brave to set boundaries. My anxiety medication caused my recent breakage so I’ll continue to support you and learn from you…along with my daughter. Thank you for making me feel like I’m not alone and to embrace my 4c hair sis. ❤
I also had Alopecia Areata. Dealt with it for about a year. I was like 2 years into my natural hair journey, so it hit me pretty hard. I felt like, "Just as I was starting to feel beautiful in my own hair, my body goes and decides to attack itself". Thank God I haven't had any flare ups since. Its tough because you feel like your body is working against you. It was really hard but I got threw it. I know you will too🫶🏾 I'm wishing you the best. 🤞🏽 P.S. I don't think Alopecia areata gets spoken about a lot in the natural hair space, so thanks for this video. I know I would have loved to see it when I went through my diagnosis.
Wow it took real guts to post this. Super proud of you. Honestly here for whatever you want to post. Bringing back the 20's series sounds like a good idea.
Praying for your full recovery beautiful lady. Thank you so much for sharing I know this couldn’t have been easy on you . Sending lots of love your way.♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️
Hi Starpuppy! I was almost teared up seeing the fall out section because I'm also currently going through stress alopecia, also on top of my head...it's been two years now that I'm fighting it and I want to thank you for sharing this because I really felt alone and sad about it I wish you'll be able to relieve yourself from the stress and that your hair will be able to grow back Fighting!!
I love your comeback after hardship. You are inspiring so many young people. I have an autoimmune disorder and my hair is vulnerable to my stress levels. So I understand. Be encouraged Danielle.
I feel you so much . I have trichotillomania and I have the same exact bald spot in the front of my head . This thing can be really exhausting to live with and it’s like an endless cycle. You pull out your hair , your hair is growing , and you pull it out again , and the cycle restarts. A lot of courage to you, with love !❤️
I would really like a “Calm Series”. I think it would be nice for you, and would also allow for discussion in the comments which may help people find new things that they can try to relax a bit :)
I'm here for thr "Ma'am Calm Down" series cause stress be stressing. One free thing, one cheap thing, one boogie thing sounds like a great plan babes. Sending an internet hug
As a person who deals with stress. I pray the best. You being honest and open about your mental state and anxiety has made me understand myself more. Thank you for sharing!
I'm so unbelievably sorry that you had to go through this, I cannot even begin to imagine what that was like :(( Also on another note, I'm really excited about that second channel as a white girl that follows you for your personality
Rooting for you, Danielle! You've done so much for the NHM. If you want/need to pivot or even retire, that's understandable. It's well deserved. And so is your future success. Can't say I wouldn't miss you in this sphere, or that I could follow as closely with commentary (we'll see) but I, like so many, will always support you. Liking, commenting, subbing, watching the adds, and running it on loop while I sleep to increase that watch time are all ways I intend to continue to support the wonderful, beautiful, kind, and lovely woman who helped me find the beauty in more than what I was first taught was beautiful. Thank you so much!
Title freaked me out. I was wondering where you have been; was missing you. Sorry to hear about your anxiety and hair situation. Glad that you are taking steps for your health (hair and mental). Take care. ❤
Sorry to hear about this happening. I have started to get grey hairs due to my own trichotillomania and a massive amount of stress right now, so this video felt personal 😅 I hope whatever anxiety and guilt you have regarding this fades and you get that crown back!
I've always loved your approach to creating art and content and just living life. I've lost interest in a lot of natural hair content recently, so I'm actually really glad to hear that you're starting a new channel! I love a video essays, especially on nerdy topics, and I think you'd be absolutely perfect at making them. I always wondered when the other elements of your intro would come into your videos, and here they are! Proud of you for prioritizing your wellbeing and allowing yourself to branch off in. Look forward to watching both channels.
I would love to see the relaxation series! The free could be like a packed lunch and library date or movie night and skincare at home. The bougie one could be one of those inflatable hot tub purchases and new bathing suit or something with expensive wine or fancy drink of choice.
Danielle! I promise you your hair will grow back even stronger than before! Sending you lots of love and hugs darling ❤️❤️ please take care of yourself
Thank you for being an example of giving ourselves grace! I can’t wait to see the calm down series and join your other channel. In all this, remember, progress not perfection. At the point you are guarding, we, your loyal followers want you well!
"MA'AM CALM DOWN" is a very much needed series. I have to remind myself to breathe some days. Self care is the best and I've learned to not feel bad about it.
Love your channel. Found you when I was 16 and now I’m 19. Learned so much through you and it’s completely normal! I lost my hair due to stress, hormones because of birth control, and dying my hair. Didn’t help that it all happened at the same time but it’s gonna be ok! Things will be better. Fluffnugget flourished and will continue to!!
I can only imagine, Mama... The body is amazingly obedient & resilient. It will honor where you are. When we conquer our minds, our worlds surrender. Show yourself grace and give yourself time to master your thoughts/feelings. You'll get there. 😉 (...You're getting there! 💞)
Stressed so bad I was recently diagnosed with Grave’s (autoimmune hyperthyroidism) It caused my hair to fall out in strands/clumps (along with a plethora of other symptoms). Especially at my temples. I was crushed. Still recovering. Wishing you the absolute best in your mental and physical health journey. You’re not alone ❤️❤️
Your so sweet. I had a set back where my hair broke off in the middle back of my head. It will grow back. Thank you for being so honest. I'm praying for you sweet lady.
Here I am the funny one in the crowd. As I enjoy creating a chuckle. I know I use humor as a coping mechanism. It’s OK because life is happening and therapy always brings reciprocity. Lots of love and light to you.
Hi Star Puppy! I too am professional stresser!. I often have to remind myself that life is oh so precious and nothing is important enough for me to stress to the point of insanity over! Literally, NOTHING! LOVE AND LIGHT ALWAYS!!
Giiiiiiiiirl, I completely feel your pain. When my Dad passed in 2019, my hair went on a shedding spree for 3yrs😩 I was about to just say "screw it" and do another big chop but decided on locs instead. I couldn't believe how much of a toll on your health suppressing your feelings takes...
I'm going through the same thing !!! I with you. Try to find some joy in the things you love to reduce you stress....make sure you sleep, vitamin D , water... Stay strong !!
Hey Danielle 👋🏾 (hey Sam 🐕) My hair fell over the last few weeks also. The top of my head and spreading toward my hair line is scalped. I have CCCA, a type of alopecia triggered for me thru poor blood circulation, hypothyroidism, menopause and whatnot. I have decided to buzz cut my hair with no fades and feminine line ups. Why fight to maintain long hair? My stress will never go away...i own it. But my hair will no longer suffer.
You’re doing a great job surviving life Danielle. I can only imagine how stressful it is, to lose your hair due to stress when it’s a large part of your career and income. You’re doing a great job taking care of yourself. We’re not perfect, be patient with yourself 🫶🏽
I’m two seconds into the video and I must say I’m just happy you’re back! I’m here for more than your hair. I love your personality and it’s refreshing 💕you’re beautiful.
It’s crazy how you have sooo much hair that even with alopecia and a whole “section” missing, you STILL appear to have a full head of hair… certainly more than me! Mine is fine and shorter, and my thinning (not alopecia 🙏🏽🙏🏽) is around the perimeter; my mid section is a bit thicker & fuller. Saying this all to say, I’m praying yours fully comes back in! However, your hair is STILL GORGEOUS! As is your face!! 😍😍 even in your down moment, some of us WISH we had as much hair & gorgeous skin as you. You’re beautiful and blessed- so “Ma’am, calm down” 🤭🤭 you’re doing great! 🤗🤗
I love the idea of a calm down series. I like having something I can do with you as I consider you a friend in my head. Relaxing together would be nice
Hugs to you for sharing 🤗 I just started reading, The Body Keeps the Score, because if it's one thing I'm willing to shed, it's my trauma. Wishing the best of luck to you!
I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles. I thank GOD that you recognized a problem and is addressing them. Most people, don't have the resources, nor the aptitude to know that it can be treated. May GOD continue to bless you with your knowledge, especially to continue sharing with others. They may not respond, but I'm sure its helping someone anonymously.
Looking forward to the new content! Sometimes the thing we love can flourish best when we just leave it alone. Your hair has been through a lot and deserves a break from all the experiments. You also deserve the mental break . Sending much love ❤️
I just realized I'm heading into another depressive episode while watching this video. Always tense, chewing the insides of my cheeks, not responding to texts, sinking into myself, yup! Thank you for vulnerability ❤❤
Girl!! I also suffer from stress related alopecia. I recently suffered a loss and I knew the hair loss was coming and sure enough, it's here. It is so difficult. But I'm wishing you well!! The hair always grows back...so yay! But yeah, I wish there was a way to prevent the loss from happening because life happens bruh lol.
Totally understand where you're coming from. I carry my stress on my scalp and tense is my body's natural state! Don't let the content stress you out further, do what works for you. And good luck with the new channel!
Danielle, DO YOU!!! Those who love you will support you. Don’t be afraid to find new “family” in this RUclipsr-verse. Trust. Simply, trust. You live your own life, never EVER allow yourself to harm yourself for the sake of others (speaking from experience). It’ll be ok. Proof: I can’t stand Pokémon, BUT, I love you and your content, SO- I’m bout to take my tail right on over and subscribe and watch every stitch of content you put out. You got this girl!!!!!
Star puppy, I’ve watched and enjoy your videos on hair journey. I understand about hair loss because I have had this happen to me. To me, your hair has grown immensely, when I first started viewing you on RUclips, and it really looks good. You have beautiful hair.
You definitely are not alone in this issue. I have dealt with a similar issue throughout my life in different areas of my scalp. I can go for prolonged periods of time with hair growth then... boom... it happens again. Stress is a booger. Sometimes it happens when I don't necessarily feel stressed. Staying relaxed. Maintaining healthy friendships & relationships only helps a great deal. Also regularly exercising is awesome. Stay mobile. Also nurture your interests & hobbies. Last year I experienced it; however, the hair started growing back in the affected area. I've always had thick hair so for the most part I've been able to be creative & camouflage it but it's still traumatic. Prayers and support for you and anyone who deals with this condition. It teaches you patience for sure🙏🏾
Omg I ran into your video after not seeing you since you started sharing your hair journey, and I have to say I was shook by the hair growth! You’ve done a tremendous job of caring for your hair, and I know you’ll be able to keep her healthy in the long run

Whew chile! Yes! Been there. My hair fell in 2016 and never came back. I am down for a stress free series. We love you, we support you.
Bless you for sharing; you are not alone in this problem. Your candor helps others toward healing as well as I hope sharing helps you.
This may begin to help:

Stress is just a killer period. I'm glad you are now on a path of wellness specific to you. Godspeed dear
Hugs hang in there 🤗
How has the change in add'l vitamins been for you? Im discovering I also suffer from v low levels of vit D
Stress is no joke and I would love to see you series on working relaxing and decreasing stress methods. Soooooo needed for all of us. Thank you for sharing your journe. You are a beautiful soul!
Aww. Love your transparency here as a fellow black woman with trich.
P.S. I don't think Alopecia areata gets spoken about a lot in the natural hair space, so thanks for this video. I know I would have loved to see it when I went through my diagnosis.
You said had, how did you get rid of it?
Oh goodness. Anxiety puts takes me out. So I feel your pain. Positive vibes to you dear.
Thanks for sharing and being so open. We appreciate you 🙌
Wow it took real guts to post this.
I was almost teared up seeing the fall out section because I'm also currently going through stress alopecia, also on top of my head...it's been two years now that I'm fighting it and I want to thank you for sharing this because I really felt alone and sad about it
I wish you'll be able to relieve yourself from the stress and that your hair will be able to grow back
Fighting!!
I'm so unbelievably sorry that you had to go through this, I cannot even begin to imagine what that was like :((
Also on another note, I'm really excited about that second channel as a white girl that follows you for your personality
A calm down series would be amazing! You’re not on your own in this trust me, we love and support you- personally I’m excited for that ❤️👏🏿
Title freaked me out. I was wondering where you have been; was missing you. Sorry to hear about your anxiety and hair situation. Glad that you are taking steps for your health (hair and mental). Take care. ❤
Absolutely a calm series. Rest well dear!
So sorry about your hair loss. I know you work hard to keep fluffnugget happy. Wishing you healing from stress and hair growth.
I just think you are so pretty PRETTY!!! YOUR SKIN TONE, YOUR SMILE, MOSTLY IMPORTANTLY JUST THE WAY YOU EXPRESS
Im so sorry u had to go through this 😔.
Ur positivity is so contageous, i hope the things giving you stress will be solved fast ❤️🥹
I can only imagine, Mama... The body is amazingly obedient & resilient. It will honor where you are. When we conquer our minds, our worlds surrender. Show yourself grace and give yourself time to master your thoughts/feelings. You'll get there. 😉 (...You're getting there! 💞)
PS: You and your hair look beautiful, regardless! I can tell you have naturally high density hair. Give it AND yourself time... You'll see. ☺💫🖤
Start Puppy, your transparency never ceases to amaze me. You’ve created a safe space for our community. Love you 🖤
Stressed so bad I was recently diagnosed with Grave’s (autoimmune hyperthyroidism) It caused my hair to fall out in strands/clumps (along with a plethora of other symptoms).
I have similar issues with stress wrecking my hair...and scalp. Sigh but Sam cheers me up. I live vicariously through you and other dog owners.
Your transparency is EVERYTHING💛 I feel seen and heard through you😌
I’m so sorry. This is really sad. I feel like too many of us deal with this. Something has to give.
don't ever feel the need to hurt your hair for us!! id love to see any variety of content from you
Giiiiiiiiirl, I completely feel your pain. When my Dad passed in 2019, my hair went on a shedding spree for 3yrs😩 I was about to just say "screw it" and do another big chop but decided on locs instead. I couldn't believe how much of a toll on your health suppressing your feelings takes...
I love you and indeed am praying for you, Danielle. Anxiety and stress manifesting in the body is real. Thank you for sharing.
Girl, yes you are not alone with Trich. Stress is real and countinue to be positive.
I am sorry to hear that. Stress will do that sometimes and cause your hair to come out along with other problems
Thank you for sharing your journey girl 🙂 It's been a Wild Ride❣ CALM DOWN
You’re doing a great job surviving life Danielle.
Bless you. I'm sorry you're going through this and no, you are not alone. Take the steps to take care of you.
We are here for you. You’re gonna be just fine. Worst comes to worst,Sam will donate a little hair to fill that little spot in
When you revealed that you suffer from Trich I’ve had a sense of relief. Someone I love is also struggling with the exact same thing.
I pray everything goes well for you and remember to love yourself. I don’t comment much, but you’re a very beautiful person inside and out.
So sorry you are going through this. Whenever things are overwhelming just pray or meditate. It really helps. God bless you.
I laughed at way too many inappropriate times but your sense of humor kept making it feel safe. I love you. The whole top half of my head has breakage
Thanks for sharing Star puppy! I appreciate the honesty and vulnerability
Thanks always for your vulnerability and sharing. We love and appreciate you.
You grew it before, it will grow again. You’ve helped so many of us. Stress will do it, hormones. Stay encouraged beautiful!
Sincerest love being sent to you Danielle. You certainly are not alone and your subscribers would love to see anything that supports your health.
Thank you for sharing, you are such a beautiful and precious soul. Sending lots of love to you 💗
Star puppy, I’ve watched and enjoy your videos on hair journey. I understand about hair loss because I have had this happen to me. To me, your hair has grown immensely, when I first started viewing you on RUclips, and it really looks good. You have beautiful hair.
*Congraulations 🎉I have a (Mystery Box) package for you; Gist the above username for acknowledgment*

😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
✨🤩✨
