There was a calico cat that came to my room a couple of weeks ago, and now I'm keeping it. I love her so much! Feel like I'm the luckiest person on earth
I’ve always had calico cats. Even when I have other types like ginger or grey tabby we have also at least 1 calico. The most calicos we had in my household was 3!
We have a calico cat that kept hanging around our backyard and would leave around 5:00 pm and come back the next morning. That went on for the longest time until one day she didn’t leave and started sitting by the back door crying. We started putting food and water out for her debating what to do with her but we live in Southwest Florida and there was a hurricane coming so we brought her in and took her to the vet to have her checked out. She was healthy (no microchip) so we kept her...we named her Sabrina and she loves to cuddle and sleep in our bed with us! We have 3 other rescue cats and each one is different. We just love ❤️ our cats and hope that we will have them for a long time to come.
ANNIE H. Thank you for rescuing 4 little souls!! I'm 71 and have been rescuing pups and kittens since the 1950's! Back then the common response was "Don't feed it and it will go away"! Spaying and neutering was rarely done! We have come a long way but still have a long way to go! People like you are a great part of the solution!! Thank you for sharing your story and it touched my ❤ Grandma Heart ❤
@@lindahaggard6416 - thanks for your reply... I think it’s fantastic that you have been rescuing kittens 🐱 and puppies 🐶 for such a long time. The only time my husband and I bought a pure bred German Shepherd puppy was right after we got married in the early 60’s (but then what did we know?). She had one litter (9 puppies!!) since we were told by the breeder that would calm her down. But ever since we always got puppies from a shelter and later we added kittens to them. The only thing that breaks my heart is when it’s time to say goodbye and that one way trip to the vet to have them put to sleep. I get so emotional when it comes to animals and my husband has to turn the sound off on the TV when the commercial from ASPCA comes on and I sit there and don’t look at the TV and when it’s over he turns it back on. Thanks for all you do and stay safe!
I had a calico from the age of 5 till she passed just before my 25th birthday. The only two constants in my childhood were my father and the cat. I miss them both still to this day.
Calicos are very affectionate . The first one I rescued after her owner died wrapped her front paws around my neck in a hug. She held on tight like a rescued child.
At 71 my 1st 7 cats were calicos with a predominant black coat. In August 1968 Dolly presented me with 4 kittens including a black crosseyed tom named CoCoa, his big brother a red tabby named Big Boy, their other brother was a black tom with four white boots named Booty, & a little sister who didn't survive. When I left for college my Mama took the entire family to the Humane Society. I still LOVE calicos & prefer female apartment/house cats. I'm on about # 21 who is a solid gray that looks like a Russian Blue. They are great companions. Independent enough to survive on a clean litter box, dry food, & fresh water.
Adopted our first calico cat from the animal shelter last year and instantly adjusted to her new home/family. Even at age 8, she is so playful and very affectionate. Such a cute little sweetheart 😻
Awww this video is so cute! And informative! I had no idea they're the state cat of Maryland. I've got a 13 y/o calico. She's a good girl most days but boy... she got attitude too! I love her to pieces 💖 Thanks for sharing! Such a cute video ❤
A few years ago my family went to the no-kill shelter to look for an older cat for me to help with my nerves. I told my exwife that I wanted a fat, lazy hairy cat that sits down and says daddy love me when I get home. When we went there we went to the older cat room and I walked around and checked out most of the cats. I sat down on the couch and this gray cat jumps on my lap and I start petting it. Next thing I know, I felt a few nudges behind me. And there was Ellie. She was the most beautiful cat and she kept meowing at me like saying Pick Me, Pick Me. We found out her litter had already been adopted, so she was looking for a good home. So we ended up adopting her and now she lives with me and whenever I get home from work, she either lays in my lap or lays on my chest in a loaf while I pet her up and down. She also gives love nudges as well. Now's she 10yo. So I guess she could tell that I didn't really have a family either. So I guess it was destined for us to meet. I just also recently adopted a 2 mo cat Grace who's now 5 mo and they play rough and get along great. I'm very grateful for my cats because the only family I have is my 6 yo daughter named Isabella Grace. I lost my best friend back in 2017 so I don't have any friends except for my daughter either. But I have a peaceful home to come home to and it's really relaxing.
I never thought I would adopt a cat. But one day, I got a kitten calico who I named Jinx , she is 3 months now, I love her to death.I wish I were adopt her sister as well. I'm sorry Jinx
So did you? I adopted a Calico from the shelter about a month ago. She is the sweetest, most loving kitty in the world. She is the reincarnation of my mom.
I've got a one eyed calico who was saved from near death by my mom's boyfriend. She's a very lucky girl indeed, but nowadays, she likes to think she's the queen of all things... xD
What does "tobi" in Japanese "Tobi-mike" mean? Mike (三毛/みけ) itself means "three kinds of fur", so what is it? We just call a calico cat "Mike-neko (三毛猫)."
I’m thinking of adopting two sister calico tabby cats from the Humane Society!
Do it! You won't be disappointed.
Kristy, Do it, you will have hours of comedy relief & true companionship.
I did the application. We’ll see how it goes! 🐈
Did you get them?
