- Chelsea Swindle with @shesewsseams on TikTok and Instagram guides you step-by-step on how to make a t shirt! In the video, she uses a coverstitch machine and a serger, but you can do this entire tutorial using a zig-zag stitch on a regular sewing machine!
The exact pattern can be found at www.sewingpart...
There are 4 steps Chelsea walks you through:
1. Attaching the front and back piece of your t shirt.
2. Attaching the sleeves to your t shirt.
3. Attaching the neckband to your t shirt.
4. Hemming the bottom of your t shirt.
She also gives you several bonus sewing tips throughout the video!

Nesting seams is something others fail to mention on their tutorials. This tip is important, especially in the pant crotch and sleeves. You not only introduce the sewing tip, but also clearly explain the reason why the tip works.
I like your tip of clipping a wonder clip to the center front. Another good option I follow is to attach a huge safety pin to the back side of all pieces. Both options will help beginner sewers keep track of the front/back pieces.
Finally a vid with clear verbal instructions! Thank you.
The neckband was explained so nicely, thank you
so glad it was helpful!!
Such great detail information. Awesome tutorial!
I so love you guys. You make sewing fun. Even when it feels boring or complicated. I would really love to take an online class if you do offer
Wow, that's such a huge compliment. Genuinely, thank you. We are going to start offering online classes next month! On 12/6 at 7 pm Central, we'll be live doing a class on Applique. Starting in 2024, we'll be offering them monthly.
Amazing very well explained and easy! Can’t wait to make some for my boys:)
Thank you for sharing. 💞😊
Thank you for watching 💛💛
You're so very welcome! ☺
If my total neckline measures…. say 15 “ and the band to attach to the neckline is 2” shorter will that be ok?
