Fix your SSD drive not showing in Windows. This how to guide applies to 2.5" SSDs, hard drives, M.2 and USB drives. I show you how to initialize the disk, format an unallocated drive and other trouble shooting tips.

Thank you took me over an hour to figure out why my M.2 wasn't working and it was literally just needing to format it in data management. This is something that really should be a part of the instruction booklet for those of us who aren't CS majors.

note: i had to activate the m.2 slot first, and then had to format it. so you and someone else on youtube saved me 200€ because i thought i had a faulty ssd. thank you very much

@@24k.abhinay61 it works now, but that’s because I upgraded with a new motherboard. The motherboard was the problem.

I just wanted to thank you for this video. I was having tons of trouble getting my computer to detect a second m.2, I had no idea that the slots could be different. I spent 2 hours wrestling with BIOS trying to figure it out before coming here, and your suggestion of checking the slots was what fixed it. I swapped them around and it was instantly solved.

Thanks for this - always find installing new hardware so stressful and putting a M.2 into an 8 year old PC with unclear specifications was no exception. Of course once installed I boot into Win 10 and see no new drive, but luckily I knew enough to check device manager and to my relief it was present in there. Though at this point i'd forgotten what the next steps were so your video was invaluable. Opening DiskManagement automatically asked me to initialise the disk, and then it could be formated and all is good.

Watched the video to help out with a missing nvme drive that was working and stopped, and thankfully the advice provided worked, specifically the ATA Uninstall and restart. Re-downloaded the nvme samsung driver and was good to go again, so thank you for the help.
