Agree with @frankjones6406 - if you put text boxes around the counter you can lay out your stream however you want. You can change the font / font size on the counter text box to match whatever flavor text you want on your stream.
You SHOULD be able to add it the same way a second time, but I haven't confirmed this. Let me try it out tomorrow and let you know! If it doesn't work it shouldn't be too hard to add a second or third counter in the plugin.
was trying to do this with streamerbot and have it count the number of 'undos' i execute with ctrl+z in art apps, but SB takes over the hotkey and the art program can't register it. i was really sad thinking there wouldn't be an easier way to do this, but this tutorial clutched it out for me. now i can happily track my ctrl+z's (just not while OBS is the main window as it will undo any source adjustments lmfao) thank you so much for this tutorial
Thank you so much for making this! Couple of quick questions though: 1. Would it be possible to put the hotkey for the counter onto a Stream Deck key? 2. What if I wanted to setup multiple counters? I.E., where I've got a Red Team vs. Blue Team overlay and I want to track the series score, would I have to do anything different?
@@holygrailstudios for the Stream Deck question, I would bind the hotkey in OBS to something you'll never accidentally hit and something that no game would ever use (like CTRL-SHIFT-0, or similar). Then you can bind the Stream Deck custom action to press this series of keys. It would behave just as if it was bound directly into OBS. On the other question - I THINK you should be able to add the plugin twice, but I haven't tested this. I'll try to find some time tonight and see if it works.
It looks like you're tabbed off of OBS and playing a game, but the hotkey still works. The hotkey only works while OBS is in focus for me. How do I make the hotkey work while I'm actually playing a game? Edit to specify, it's full screen games that disable the OBS hotkey. I have the option selected in OBS to never disable hotkeys and my hotkeys work as long as I don't have a full screen game running.
I've noticed that when I stream my hotkeys in OBS only work when the window is in focus. Does anyone know how to make them work in games? The hoykeys I've used are F13-F17 and Ctrl or Alt as modifiers, all for switching scenes. Not sure if that's relevant.
when i download python the folder isnt called python36 its called python38. also yes i did download 3.8.6. then wehn i go into the scripts those three options on the right are not there for me. you said this happens if python was not installed correctly but i did exactly what you did. any idea why this happens?
Hey, I know this comment is old but if you or anyone else needs help I found a way to reset the counter each stream. You can make a new empty folder anywhere on your computer (I put mine in the same file path as the Python script). Copy that folder path and paste it in the "Set Counter Save Path" box in OBS. OBS will save a file in that new folder that you can delete after each stream to reset the counter.
@@retrotgames I installed it with the easy install thing. Then deleted it and installed in on a different path but that didn't work either. Then I deleted it and installed it to the exact same path as you (foldername) and that didn't work either...
Woah this really did what i wanted it to do. Why the heck does this vid only have 400 views this is gonna get way more.
Thank you very much. Your short introduction was very smooth and it works nicely for me!
Man, this is pure gold, thank for sharing this! Hope this video gets a lot of views 🤞
Thank you so much! Appreciate you bro.
Thank you so much for this excellent video! Your audio is also top notch
Solid video mate, straight forward and very clear on how to set it up.
Very much appreciated.
Thanks for being the first video that I found, that managed to explain it for humans.
I have mine already working on my stream, looks nice. Thanks a lot!!. Very well documented btw
My pleasure! Thanks a LOT for sharing. I love the way you've laid it out -- really liking the font you used in the "hits" text.
You are a legend, thank you SO much!
Thank you so much!! It was super easy to follow and took like no time to set up!
This is a great video and super simple to follow! wish i couldve found this before I confused the hell out of myself searching by myself tho haha
Thank you so much for this! You made this simple and easy to understand! Now I can have a counter on my streams!
This was so useful, thank you so much
GOD BLESS YOU
Also is there a way to do different keys to add different things maybe like 15 and take out 15
I think I can easily add that. I'll look at it tonight and see about adding a "count by" setting.
@@retrotgames Oh ok thank you
Thank you for the tutorial, let's say I wanted text after the counter, how would I go about that, for example 0/150 and the 0 is counting up
I recommend multiple text boxes.

This was super easy to follow lol but is there a way to add a second counter to track Wins and Losses?

I just copied the script file and then added a second counter just like the first one, it works perfectly fine
@@foxx3471 that’s exactly what I did lol thank you!

you need another monitor
@@calvincummings8980 I have two and I keep OBS visible on the second one for watching chat
Hello, im trying to count my mouse1 inputs, but OBS doesnt allow me to bind mouse1, any help?
Me too!
How do you do this on Mac because when I install python none of the folders are in the python folder and OBS doesn’t recognise the python script
I followed this whole thing just to find out it doesn't work for mouse clicks....
pythong 36 file is not showing up.... it saids on site 368 is not available
Possible to have two of these counters at the same time?

Python currently not loaded does it say when I enter the python installationpad
What version of OBS are you using? And what version of Python did you install?
