Remember the cold days, feeding cows climbing a silo and throwing down silage. Hands get cold, stick them in there. Get them warm man. Them are some mean days, thanks for Gary. God bless Happy New Year.
Old 520 sounds good Bill. Thanks for sharing the video. I'll be glad to have longer days myself. The weather is nice for now but it is going to get cold this weekend. Hope y'all have a great New Year.
hey md I love your old tractors it's all my youth that I rediscover through your videos I live in Alsace in France and the father and grandfather of my boss still had the farm and some animals in the manure we had a jd 620 when loading and the 730 on the spreader a jd series 40 it seems to me brief I no longer have the exact reference and the last time I had the opportunity to drive it on a plot it was in 99 and for sowing we had a jd 830 on a jd max emerge 8 or 12 row seeder when I knew it until 2000 now the biggest tractor we have an 8r290 290 hp original now boosted to 390 hp by the jd factory in us and all the old tractors of my boss's father and grandfather are from a childhood friend who has a dairy farm in the department next to mine and he only has old us equipment and when we help him you can be sure that I always ride on one of the 2 cylinder tractors always a real pleasure to hear them and once again thank you it's up to you to take me back to my childhood Love the old school 2 cylinder and sound without being indiscreet afterwards I could be wrong, but of course it's you who knows better because you've heard it for quite a few years, but it doesn't seem to sound good to my ears as if it were a problem! for example we have our 620 and 730 and the 830 sounds different to my ears and it sounds a little better your 520 doesn't seem well tuned somewhere to my ears but after all of course I'm probably wrong don't hesitate to tell me and it's not mean
I am so glad you are enjoying my farming videos, and that it helps you re-live fond memories from your youth. Thank you for taking time to write such a nice comment, and I hope the new year will be a great one for you!
thank you very much to you and I hope that for you it will be a very good year as good as mine hopefully and good luck to you and to all those who see this comment and to the new year what does that mean to me nice to have discovered you have a channel
Even though I am a Farmall guy.... I love to hear them old 2 cylinders' JD's.... I once own a 40 Deere... I used it to pull logs with. Yes sir it would pull.
Hey Bill. Old Popping Johnny, was hitting a lick. I love to hear them old tractors run. The cows are looking good. Beautiful day, up there in Maryland. Where are the boys at, on the compact diesel tractor? Have they did anymore testing and tuning on it? I thought I saw where the head was off, in one of your recent videos. Take care now and I will catch you later. 👍😎💪🚜
Nice day to be out and about keeping the cattle fed and bedded. As you say, sometimes you wonder about cattle why they'd leave prime quality grass-legume hay in the feeder and go to nibbling on some old nasty junk that would barely qualify as mulch hay.
@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 Okay I'm just outside of St Louis, I thought the temperatures were about the same. Normal will be upper 30s for highs in January.
Im the same way, love the long days. Glad you are having some nice weather. Take care !!!

Nice tractor ride
I sure like your farm.
They're going to eat every bit of that old hay bale, lol!
Nice day to be out and about keeping the cattle fed and bedded. As you say, sometimes you wonder about cattle why they'd leave prime quality grass-legume hay in the feeder and go to nibbling on some old nasty junk that would barely qualify as mulch hay.
I think I still have an old loader like that in a shed. No mounts, just the boom part. Any interest, Bill?
Never know what cows will eat... lol 😆!
How do we know it's not one of those mystery drones flying over your shop looking for pulling ideas?
Very cool. I love to hear the 520 at idle. Bill, you don't have a carb for a 630 do you?
Hey, thanks. Sorry, I don't have a 630 carb.
How close are you to Andrews? I thought it be colder than 50s for average there this time of year in Maryland.
I guess about 25 miles from Andrews AFB. We are close enough to the Bay that our temp. tends to stay warmer than farther inland.

That's pretty close to the base. Sounds like around 30 miles From DC?
