Dude, your biggest asset is your wife. She has such a great sense of humor and bright demeanor. Most other women and a lot of men would be mad as wet hens given the sometimes arduous task of living off grid.
Just a suggestion but maybe keep the blower chute to not open up so high. You could probably drill a hole in the top of the chute and insert a bolt to direct the snow lower instead of almost straight up. There will be less coming back at you also that way.
Hi Jay, Jen, I'm just north of you across the big lake and winter is the same here as you Guys (correction Earthlings). Currenty in a bit of a deep freeze. Keep warm.
Need some oil on the bottom of that sled 😅 stay warm guys...down state here it's been very cold too, I used to live up in Alpena and I saw they had warmer Temps than me here in Ann Abor area.
Last video I saw 👀 the snow blower wasn't working, congratulations 👏 awesome but isn't it blowing out to high ... dogs would love running and playing under that...love from The Bahamas 🇧🇸 sorry but we are having our winter, mid 70's overcast rainy kind of day...liquid sunshine 🌞
Just wanted to say hello from Oklahoma! We have snow but not like you guys have. It is beautiful there but I know it is cooked. Thanks for sharing your videos!😊😊😊
Looks snowy - wind turbine would sure produce a lot of power for you up there on your hilltop. A good manufacturer would jump on the sponsor opportunity.
Lol. I was laughing as hard as Jen was. 😂. It's nice to see yall out playing in the snow. Something I enjoy. But no snow here. So I enjoyed it with yall. Thank you.
Hi guys! 🖐 A lot of the country has been getting hammered with snow. We've been way too cold in Oklahoma! That snow just makes me colder. I used to work outside year-round. Extreme heat is just as bad. Glad the snow blower is working, that's a true game changer. I've shoveled enough snow to last the rest of my life- the place I worked has 2 people doing my job now and they got a snow blower 🤷♀️. I was excited for you to see the sun, those solor panels are thirsty 😉 Glad y'all had a great adventure. Stay warm, stay safe and GOD bless
It's beautiful where you are but I'm glad that I don't have to put up with all the snow. I grew up in Colorado and loved to play in the snow but now live in California and now I can watch you both have fun and play in the snow with the dogs. Jen, watch out you don:t get trampled by the dogs when you fall down in the snow! May God bless you both and keep you safe!
Dear OFF GRID with Jay and Jen I live in Edmonton AB Canada thank you for taking all my snow this year I was wondering where most of it went some people don't realize how cold It can get when you have snow like the people in Tennessee and PA right now keep up the great video's me and my cat love watching them
Awesome video. I think the dogs had the right idea , laying on the couch. Jen your laugh is infectious and you made a great dog chew toy. LOL. Im thinking tarp over the solar panels before the storm hits. Easer clean up. Glad the snow blower is working. Mite want to drop the discharge shoot a little. Cheers
❤😊❤😊 I love seeing the snow now. BUT I don't to be in it. 40 winters as I grew was beautiful. Even fishing in Wisconsin and Michigan in snow was great. BUT NOW NO WAY. BLESSINGS FROM PUERTO RICO. BLESSINGS FROM PUERTO RICO. 😅😅❤.LOVE YOU GUYS. BE SAFE AND KEEP SAFE.😮
I just spent today, digging my walk, steps, car and driveway out of our blizzard. Was an awful mess! Hope you guys are doing well?! I laughed so hard at your intro . . . you guys have the best sense of humor! LOVE your channel!!! ♥ Oh we are finally above zero here . . . in the single digits yet, but looks to be promising in the next day or so.
Y'all can keep that snow! I have never in my life been on a snow mobile but looks like fun! Enjoy and then get warm. Greetings from Florida. Thanks again for taking me on my first virtual snow mobile ride!😁
Woot woot the snow blower does work Jay, the cabin looks so pretty in the snow and Jen l hope you didn’t hurt yourself when you fell over, and what are those green shed like buildings l saw on your little adventure?, stay warm guys, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Yay!! Vroom, Vroom goes the blower! So happy it works for you. Love the filming of the area, especially up in the trees. It's sooo beautiful! 🥰 Thanks for sharing.
Hi there! I’m so glad the snow blower worked for you. It was lovely for you to see the sun, even if all it did was put a smile on your faces! The snow sure looks beautiful but wow it must be cold. Glad you two could get out and enjoy the ride for a while. I loved the doggos having fun! Cheers 👍🏻🇦🇺
Haha i thought we were going to see a sweetheart moment or a campfire and a burger or something special 😮 😉 Jay It's good to see that you got the snow blower working and I think with a little fine tuning you'll be good to go. Thanks for sharing your beautiful area along with a nice winter hike and a fun snowmobile ride. Have fun and enjoy your get away time with your family. 🙏 God Bless ❤
It was one heck of a storm. Now the cold has really set in. Everything here is Milwaukee is a block of ice. All of our snow was heavy and wet and then it all froze solid. Going to try to get up to the UP property this weekend and do a little ice fishing hopefully. Hope all is well in the lower part of Michigan.
Thanks so much for the snowmobile ride through magnificent snowy scenery.. “ There was never a doubt” ( John Denver sing) that Jay would have the snowblower working to his liking !…great video !!
Love your winter wonderland, for you, not me. 😎 I prefer to watch your videos and pretend I am there. I had my outdoor winter adventures when young so your videos are beautiful and remind me of my youth.
You two are so great together! On our hill in Gaylord any hard pack turns to dangerous ice. We only walk along the side until we can clear the snow. Our driveway is a 45 degree angle.
I live in northern Michigan too, and I have a very long two track driveway. My method for snow removal is to use a snow plow for the first couple snows, with light pressure. I'm aiming to leave a flat snow surface. Then I drive over it a bunch to pack it down, making sure it gets a solid, frozen base. I use a snowblower for the rest of the winter. Once I have that solid base, I never have to worry about putting rocks through the blower.
Beautiful day. 🥰 We tried to get out and enjoy as well. We are still battling this illness. It's been a tough one. Did not even have energy to do a video. Ugggh. Hope you are both doing well! ✌️🥶💕
I saw the other day a snow plow that was attached to the front of the tractor in place of the bucket. I thought of you when i saw it because it would work for the wet snow. Only thing is if your bucket is not a quick change it might not work without some fab. Just a thought, but great video and good to see that blower work!
You two really endured that storm and the chores to be mobile... 2 feet of snow somewhat east of you, so we're staying home until we think we can get back to our cabin - no snow removal equipment like you two.
Its always so beautiful after a snow storm! Enjoy. Didn't you use your totes and gutter system for water this past summer? I don't remember you ever getting water. Also on the camera, it looks like the snow blower could use the shoot extended and aim the snow further away. I'm not sure if it's an issue it just looked like a lot was going back on the road. Lastly, I have to say adding the landing over the pantry and moving the stairs is an awesome solution. Take care and have a good week!
Hey, thanks Lisa. We did use our totes to collect rain most of the summer. We did have some dry spells that made water in short supply at times. We didn't get the extra pole barn totes hooked up until later in the summer either.....once they were hooked up, we were golden
It's beautiful there. We could use a snow blower down here in Tenn. Got more than our share of snow and freezing temperatures. I'm ready for it to go away. Love you guys..
So is that the driveway you’re trying to slide down? Also love the hats!!! And thank you for the beautiful snow mobile ride!!! Love the tune and getting to see your surroundings!
@@OffgridwithJayandJen watch out for the trees! How long is the driveway? Also why am I obsessed with your driveway hahaha I think it’s because we struggle so hard with our road too. So it’s super relatable for us.
@OffGridWithChrisandKristie I literally laughed out loud when I read...why am I so obsessed with your driveway.....😊. I agree that it's because we can both relate, lol. From the cabin to the start of our property is a quarter mile, then you hit a seasonal road, basically a two track/ old logging road, what ever you want to call it. That is a little over half a mile up to the maintained gravel road. I say up, be cause it is literally all up hill from our driveways end to the maintained road/plowed road. It isn't that far really....but as you know.....Hills and snow do not mix. 😊
Great work on the blower. I agree with others to try to shoot the angle of the snow discharge more to the side somehow. I dont think a little snow on the road is bad. Once you drive on it a bit, you'll have a nice base. Cheers!
Dude, your biggest asset is your wife. She has such a great sense of humor and bright demeanor. Most other women and a lot of men would be mad as wet hens given the sometimes arduous task of living off grid.
I can’t agree with this more!! We love watching Jay and Jen because they have so much fun together.
Thank You.....I'll do my best to keep her =)
Just a suggestion but maybe keep the blower chute to not open up so high. You could probably drill a hole in the top of the chute and insert a bolt to direct the snow lower instead of almost straight up. There will be less coming back at you also that way.
Ditto on the re-angling of the chute. Never seen one on a tractor like that before but it looks like it can do a great job for you.
I just said that he needs to adjust the chute to throw it out into the woods. Good job have fun
What a fun video!! Thank you both for sharing!!
Love your videos and enjoy watching them. May the lord bless and protect you and Jen and the homestead. Be safe
Thank you! You too!
Jen you had me laughing so when the dogs jumped you I almost wet my pants. lol

My mans chillin with the shorts in the snow I can relate! There aren’t that many of us we need to stick together.
