Not at all surprised that luminaries such as Oates, Gibbons and Beck are noticing you. So cool to see you get the recognition you deserve.

Guthrie, in my early 20’s I was a touring musician. My inner core friends had videos on MTV, top charting songs and world tours. I ended up pretty much quitting to be a dad, be there for the fam and make money to support a family. Now 50, I am an empty nester. I found your videos. You have inspired me so much. Thank you for all that you do!!

Not listening, over-playing, and playing too loud are super annoying in a jam, glad someone as good as you still has those experiences. It’s endearing.

One of the many things that set your videos above and apart from the others for me is the gorgeous CLEAN tone you tend to use, as beautifully demonstrated here. I get so tired of that same ole same ole overdrive/distortion pedal sound. Your guitar tone is a breath of fresh air. Thank you!

Thanks for your help Guthrie. There are some great teachers but most of the time when I sit down to practise I’m staying with your overlapping caged/chords/arpeggios/scales ideas. I know that’s playing guitar, and making music, not just an exercise!

What strikes me most is the humbleness of Guthrie’ genius and artistry (“no extra charge for the mistakes” is priceless and became the trademark -music apart). Tip of the hat sir, or as our cousins in the nearby France say “chapeaux!”. I’m pushing 64 and getting the itch for crossing the Atlantic and getting to Nashville just to spend a night wherever you play live.

Guthrie, you are stupendously creative and talented in case you didn't know that. I wrote you a note but thought I would re-say it here. Been playing for 58 years by ear and I can play for sure. However I was thinking and I say these words in a positive manner. I am almost 70 years old. I firmly believe that when this life is over, wherever we go all our talents and skills will be on full display like never before. Because of you I get a preview of how I will actually play when I get there by listening to you play now. Thank you for all of your hard work and what must have been countless hours of practice so that all of us pickers can hear what our full potential will one day sound like! A grateful fan.
